thanks! The dogs help. Every day when I put on my shoes to go do the goat chores, the husband's dog starts getting excited and jumping around-he loves to go and can't because he's an idiot and runs off and chases cars so he is always leashed. So, when I take him walking, he's so happy, and it helps him calm down, so...the dogs motivate me to move, too. My little dog just walks everywhere I go so happily, and his dog needs it. Yay for 4 legged motivators!

2 of my students are done with state testing. the other 8 will take another 3 weeks because of the schedule. My 2 paras and myself take turns and we get through one or two sessions a day. It is so unfair to test these below grade level kids at grade level. So unfair. And behavior kids on top who struggle hard to pay attention and attend to tasks. I HATE state testing. However, on the fitness side, I am down 2 pounds and walking almost every day after work, just to deal with the stress.

That's a nice run OKGOATGAL! As for the State testing, I can only imagine your pain...LOL!

Got in 45 minutes of cardio and 70+ minutes of lower body work today, but this AM I was up 2 pounds from last week. At bit disappointed, but it only makes me more determined.

Everyone have a great weekend...

Dwayne

hanging in until school's out for the summer. 1.6 miles, 25 minutes gravel road walk/run yesterday after work. I'm tired. State testing starts next week. 4 weeks straight of it. UGH

Trev, slowing down sometimes is something we all need to do every now and then. "Take time to smell the roses..." if you will.

Off to the gym now for some cardio and upper body work.

Hope all of you are doing well and moving forward.

Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

How's Everyone Doing Today?

Hope all of you are well and moving forward.

Got in 45 minutes of cardio today and 75 minutes of lower body work.

KMSCHALE23, small steps are how all of us have progressed and it's by far the best. Try to do too much too fast and you'll only end up slowing yourself down. You'll either suffer some sort of injury or discomfort OR you'll not see results fast enough (this is something I used to do, but gave it up and learned the right way). Baby steps every day...that's all it is.

Post often and keep thinking of the goals you've got in place...

Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

Working up to it in small step will make sure that you get there

KMSCHALE23,

Sounds like you've got a well thought out plan in place for your goal. That is awesome! It's something the coaches here on SparkPeople talk about often.

I know what you mean about doing more. As long as you're comfortable with what you're doing, and it sounds like you are, then go for it. I know before I got on SparkPeople and had been working out at the gym for 3+ years on a fairly steady basis, I started with 15 minutes of cardio and 15 minutes of strength training most days and have worked up since. Now being on Spark I'm more motivated, feel a committment to support others, as they're supporting me, and moving forward.

Just keep up the great work KM...and post how you're doing and let me know how you did on your 5K!

Carpe Diem,
Dwayne

I'm actually trying for a bit more than 10 minutes a day for exercise. I'm planning to run (jog) in my first 5k on April 25 so I'm training for that 3 days a week and trying to do strength training and yoga on the other days. I've been averaging about 30 minutes a day which is a good balance for me right now.
