I have been a part of Sparkpeople for a few years now, but this time I am committed to sticking with the healthy living - both spiritually and physically. My challenge goal is to exercise at least 10 minutes each day, continue tracking my food, and blog about my experience.

I've been able to do 10 minutes of cardio every day for 8 days. I want to continue this and add more time onto the workout whenever I can squeeze it in. I must lower my cholesterol by the end of may. That is the overall goal.

My goals for this week are to do some type of cardio for at least 15 minutes everyday and strength train on 2 days of the week. I haven't started any strength training yet but I've been doing cardio for the past month. I usually do more than 15 minutes but I like having an easy goal that I know I can do any day. Even if I'm feeling crappy. Because I know that the first time I skip one I'm gonna be so down on myself that I'll end up sabotaging the whole process by just giving up. I'm hoping that doing this challenge will give me enough confidence in myself to know that I can do this. And hopefully I'll learn not to give up and keeping trying.

My goal is to walk for 20 minutes at least 4 times a week. I love to walk, it is my time to listen to the music I want, and think about the things I need to face that day.

It's not very often I have just "me" time, but I do so much better throughout the day if I walk in the mornings.

My goal is to walk at least a mile each day, every day. Or at least to get out there for 10 minutes, if I'm not feeling well.

I just finished 6 rounds (18 weeks) of chemo for early stage breast cancer. On Thursday, I get a lumpectomy, and after that I'll be having radiation and completing a year of herceptin chemo. They say I won't be sick from these things. I truly hope not.

Coming off my last round of chemo, I was so bloated -- at least 10 lbs worth. Which has faded away over the last couple of weeks. I don't know whether it is at all from my exercise and diet - but I feel as if it is.... I dread the thought that the herceptin, when it resumes, may bloat me up again.

The docs are great, but they really focus on keeping you alive more than bloating or other such side effects.... I so want to lose a pound week for a year, and be healthy and fit!!

Here's to life lived with zest!

Newgoals2, that is a good idea! I am going to do the same. Just yesterday I joined a gym which I have been wanting to do for a long time, so I'll be able to get those formal periods of 30 minutes of cardio and strength training 2-3 times a week. But I know in reality, I won't be able to go every day so I love the idea of at least 10 minutes a day. At least I'll be doing something, which is better than nothing, which is what I used to do! This is starting today, because today is beginning of the rest of my life!

I have decided to challenge myself to do a minimum of 10 minutes of cardio exercise a day for at least the first week, with formal periods of exercise of 30 minutes with strength exercises 2-3 times. I will re-evaluate next week.

Hello Team Mates,

My goals for this team are as follows:

Lose 5 lbs the month of April
Drink 8 glasses of water
Track my food EVERY day
Exercise 10 minutes every day

I may have a bit of a problem with a couple of these as we are starting back north on Monday and I will be in a car for about 4 days. However, I will try and complete all of them this week.

Hi -- I'm back, and starting today I'm spending some thought, time and effort on myself. My daughter got married a few weeks ago, and unlike most folks who are motivated to lose weight for an event, I ate myself through the stress and busy-ness. Didn't take time for exercise. It was a joyous event, but it did throw my life out of kilter ...

10 minutes of exercise should be doable. Starting today with water intake, finding motivating pictures of myself from thinner days, and making some meal plans that will work with my schedule. Looking forward to regaining some discipline and structure and positive motion.
Here we go!

Hello Challenge-mates,

My challenge goal is to add 15 minutes of strength training six days a week to my six-days-a-week walking (cardio) regimen, which I have already been doing for 7 weeks. I will also be adding 5-minute higher intensity walking spurts to my regular walks, starting with one spurt for every half-hour of walking.

Hello everyone today I am starting with the 10 minutes a day for the four weeks. I have been on the site for 8 weeks and lost 12 pounds. I have found it to be very easy because it doesn't feel like a diet but helping me to have a healthy lifestyle. I have tried many things and had a variety of yo yo success over the years but at the end I haven't found i learned how to live better. Doing well with eating better I would like to incorporate exercise habits into my daily routine. I am not a big fan of exercise and I am the queen of excuses on why not to do it. I am thinking just 10 minutes will be a huge beginning for a slacker like me LOL.

My goal is 10 minutes a day. Make a better habit and talk myself beyond the excuses. Let the weight loss just be what it is because in time the healthy habits will speak for themselves. Glad to have other friends on the journey.

10 minutes (at least) 6 days a week!! I just read a study done by Kaiser, (the HMO in California). They signed up around 140 urban, obese, middle aged adults for a weight loss program, most of them women. All of them got regular counseling with a dietitian on portion sizes, a balanced diet, and so on. Some got a free membership to the "YMCA" and extra encouragement to exercise, some didn't. All kept a food and exercise journal. After 26 weeks (six months) everyone lost weight and the exercisers lost more than the non-exercisers. (duh!)

However, the point was that the extra weight exercisers lost was much more than the could be accounted for in the extra calories they burned. As middle aged, obese people their workouts weren't THAT intense. The hypothesis is getting out there and doing something is about much more than just the calories burned, it changes the rest of your day....

So, here i go, 10 minutes a day, 6 days a week!!

I want to start my mornings off with a little exercise that will help get my day started on a positive note and not have me dozing in traffic on my way into work lol....

Not to mention, I can't get to the gym before work (I get up at 5 to get ready to leave the house at 6, maybe I spend 20 min hitting the snooze button, so I can take 10 min from that and put it to good use lol) so at least I'll have a little energy at the start of my day to last me till when I can get to the gym after work...

Fingers crossed!

Hi, my name is Mandi. I just signed up for this goal of 10-minute Daily Exercise Challenge.
My goals for this challenge are to create a routine for daily fitness. I find that it's very easy for me to say I had a busy day at work and with the kids, I'm just going to sit on the couch for the rest of the night.
My weightloss goal for this challenge is 8 pounds.
I am embarrased to workout in front of my husband- my goal is to get over that during this challenge.
I have gained 19 pounds and my longterm goal is to lose it all!

Hello everybody!
I signed up for this challenge because I thought I might need a visual reminder at the beginning for really getting up and starting out. It's a difference whether I can cheat on myself by just saying "Yeah, well, I walked a bit to the next store ... that'll do it for today" or see the message "You have a Cardio scheduled for today!". So I try to find consistency here to become more active. I can't wait to compare myself with the current state in at least one month emoticon

You can turn all the hard work I've done against me. But I'll still give my best - and guess what, my best is better than yours.

Hello fellow sparkers :)

Goals: Get active CONCIOUSLY every day. I want to CHOSE to exercise. To achieve this, I need a routine. 10 minutes a day are a no brainer, there's no way you can't fit 10 minutes in. From there, I intend to build momentum and get into longer periods of exercise, but for the moment, 10 minutes each day will do fine.

I want to do some cardio and some strength training, we'll see how that goes down. Also, I realised lately that I LOVE to stretch, so I'll do that a lot more as well.

I can't wait to get active and find the bikini body that's for sure hiding under all the flab!

My exercise goals are to do cardio 5x a week and strength train 3x a week. My goal is to loose 3lbs a week. I calculate that to be 10,500 calories to burn so I have my work cut out for me . I plan to achieve this by really watching my diet. I am sticking to a 1200 cal/ day plan and eating small meals every 3-4 hours to increase my metabolism. I am also doing a rigorous cardio routine which includes P90X and Tae Bo. Wish me Luck!!
