I joined this challenge to get back into in the groove of things. I have been rather lax about exercise lately and need to challenge myself

Have a great day!

I joined this challenge to establish the routine of a daily 10-minute-workout -- one I can do comfortably at home, using simple props as needed. I will use Sparks easy-to-follow exercise demos, along with resistance bands, 3-lb. weights, and the SP 10-minute workout DVD I just bought. Just as important, I'm here to stay motivated. Reading posts from everyone reminds me that I'm not in this quest alone.

I am vowing to do at the very least - 10 minutes of exercise every day. I am going to try to throw 10 minutes of hula hooping in (very hard if you haven't done this in a long time) on the days that I don't have a complete exercise routine happening.

Best of luck on everyone's journey.... emoticon

I do an hour Zumba class twice a week but have been feeling for some time that I need more workouts throughout the week to balance it all out. 10 minutes a day is easy enough that I can squeeze that in during my lunch break!

I am committing to exercise 10 minutes a day and to complete this challenge successfully. I have gotten off track with my fitness plan and hope this will boost me over the edge into a long-term fitness habit. I'll start by making time to walk my dog an extra time every day, which is good for both of us!

Since it is dark when I come to work and dark when I get home, I plan to bring my walking shoes to work and walk on my lunch hour. It will also have the benefit of being a great stress buster at midday! Once I get through my crazy November schedule, I plan to join a local gym so that I can add strength training during the boring winter months until I can get back outside, which is my definite preference!

I used to walk all the time. Everyday at least a mile. I would walk to Sam's (who is now my fiance) house, no matter what. Ever since 10 years ago, and I did it every single day for 5 years, and then I would just walk for no reason, because I stopped going to his house. I would walk in the woods or walk to the park. About 4 1/2 years ago I moved to a big city and everyone kept telling me not to walk. "It's dangerous", "You could get shot", "I don't want you out there by yourself". I slowly became emoticon a couch potato. Once I moved back to my home town (where it is safe to walk), I realized that I still wasn't walking. I wasn't doing anything. All I wanted to do was sit around and watch tv. I have been walking at least 2.5 miles everyday since the 4th, and I am planning on doing that everyday from now on. I can't use walking to see Sam as an excuse seeing that I live with him, but I can and am using our marriage as an excuse for losing the weight I put on while in that big city.

I am also trying to combine that with strength training, but that is just on Mon, Wed, and Fri for now. I do 6 work outs and then stretch and I stretch after walking. I will add more exercises and more days after I stop being so sore just from doing this. I haven't worked these muscles in so long.

My goal is simple -- develop the habit of fitting some exercise into each day. I have a stressful desk job that often leaves me wiped out at the end of the day. I know exercise makes me feel better, but many days I just can't force myself to exercise. Hopefully through this challenge I'll learn some tips and develop better exercise habits.

I plan on at least getting in 10 minutes of walking a day on the days I am not engaging in a lengthier session. I also plan on strength training and running 3 times a week.

Let's do this, guys! emoticon

Up until 2 weeks ago, I was doing 2 hours a day and eating Excellently. Then I hit a goal. Since then and for other reasons(work moved and no TV to exercise with, rainy weather so no walking.) I have been eating horribley and not exercising at all. I can exercise at home but won't start.
So I am re hooking up with this challenge to start up slowly again since I can't start where I was.
I will not let my mind stop my progress so I will get up again. Step by step I will get back on track again.

I've been at it week so it's time to post a goal. Sicne just getting started and sticking to it are tough challenges for me, I'm thinking baby steps here. first is to do at least 10min of exercise everyday. Being able to say I've done it for a week now feels pretty good.

I have the habit of going crazy when I begin exercising and then burn out quickly and have no way of increasing the frequency, intensity, or time of my routine. This time around I plan on starting off slow. Slow and steady win the race! My goal is to focus ten minutes a day on strength training.

Hi everyone. My goal is to walk/jog a mile everyday, either on my treadmill or outside. I started yesterday, and then found this challenge, so that's a huge plus. I want to start out small and then move on to bigger goals, but this is a good starting point.

SparkPeople, you're so tricky. Somehow my goal to excersie 10 minutes a day has turned into 195 minutes in five days. I guess you knew telling people they only had to go 10 would get them started and once you're dressed and sweaty, really why stop at just ten?

I'm feeling better than I have in six weeks. Thanks SP

My goal is to make exercise a part of my daily routine... something to look forward to doing and something to miss terribly if a day is skipped. This is my greatest challenge. I have lost 53 lbs and have another 15 to go. My diet is good, my sleep greatly improved, my stress controlled and my pre-diabeties gone. The one thing holding me back and keeping my new slimmer body looking like a bowl of Jello is my lack of regular exercise.

I am once again committing to fixing that for good! Stronger, leaner muscles and improved endurance and stamina here I come!

You've got three choices in life. Give up, give in, or give it your all.

53 pounds down and approaching goal! WooHoo!

I have many exercise videos ranging from Latin dancing to pilates, yet I always manage to avoid exercising. I either overuse one video until I get bored with it or I simply make excuses to workout (my typical excuse: I'm cold, I'm sleepy, I'm getting hungry, it's raining, I ate too much today, I don't feel like it, maybe tomorrow, and so on).

At my heaviest I have weighed 165 lbs. (in high school), then dropped to 155 lbs. (from high school through first year of college), and now I have managed to stay at 134.5 lbs. (this past year I achieved that weight, finally getting to a "healthy" BMI). However, I am tired of hearing my own excuses, and the more I put off exercise, the less motivated I am to achieve my goal weight range (115-120 lbs.)

It's time for me to make it a solid habit of exercising at least a few minutes each day, so I challenge myself to exercise at least 10 minutes a day, every single day, no matter the weather or how much I eat that day. I tend to be an "all or nothing" type of girl, so this goal will be very challenging for me. One small change, however, can have a big impact on a person's life =)

My goal is to start an exercise habit. Right now exercise is the first thing I ditch when I feel tired/stressed and I know I can't do that So by doing thi 10 minute streak challenge I hope to get into a habit of exercise so it is hard to ditch.

Doing this will help me bounce back post baby (8 weeks ago) and teach my daughter that exercise is a daily habit.

My goal is to exercise daily. The 10 minute challenge will make it easier to start a routine. Just got started and want to continue so that I can lose weight and bring down my cholesterol by April! Once I have developed a routine I want to set a time frame to run a 5k! But first things first....got to go from walking on the treadmill to running! One step at a time is the only way I can do it without getting discouraged so first goal is the 10 minute challenge, have been doing an hour in the gym, missed the gym today, but def can get in 10 minutes at home today. Therefore, I don't feel like I let myself down! I feel sooooo much better about that! Thanks for this challenge and I am looking forward to completing this challenge.

My little goal is to exercise every day. My big goal is running a 5K the Saturday before my birthday in December. I'm registered, and starting the Spark people training program.

One small action is better than no action.

My goal is to make sure no matter what, that I work out! I don't care if it is 5 in the morning or 11 at night. I will make sure I get my workout in.

I'm excited to join this challenge in order to achieve my goal to improve consistency in working out. Starting small will hopefully help create a habit/lifestyle of being healthy and active!

My goal is to get back in to actually working out again. I attend fitness classes but I actually want to get into a plan for working out too. Back to a full all-around fitness plan. I am hoping that this challenge will help me to do that.

My goal for this challenge is to make working out a habit again. I want to get in a routine of walking my dogs daily and adding on to that. I go to the gym 3 times a week and I would like to beef up my home workouts. I am going to try some 10-15 minute videos and work on my home yoga practice.
