Tuna Sushi

Slice the tuna into thin slices. Form the rice into little rectangular pieces about 1" long. Lay the tuna on the rice. Shred the daikon and sprinkle over top. Serve on a bed of spinach.

Hey everyone, thought I'd join in on the fun. I've skimmed through, and if I understand correctly, it seems that you are mainly only allowed to use the 4 ingredients given by others, correct?
I see it's been a few days since anyone has posted so I'll be the first to start the fun back up again :)

Ingredient:

Alright, I'll give this one a go, just to clear the cutting board :)

Chop the tomatoes (remove seeds) and set aside.

Sautee the bacon in a pan until slightly undercooked. Remove (leave pan as is) and wrap a slice of bacon around each scallop (these are the big scallops here), and saute the bacon-wrapped scallops in the bacon grease until cooked on one side, flip and continue until cooked through (if i remember, i used to judge that based on the colour - when the scallop's opaque? anyone?). Remove when done and put on paper towel to absorb the excess grease. let cool slightly until you can handle.

Slice each scallop into thin medallions.

Take a washed outer leaf of romaine lettuce and place the bacon-scallop medallions along the center of the leaf. Top with chopped tomatoes, roll up the lettuce leaf and enjoy.

Someone else will have to take this one. Scallops make me extremely sick. I stay far, far away! So, I don't know the first thing about cooking them.

So... I botched this one up... When I added "rice" I forgot that the first ingredient added was coconut, so I thought I was working just with powdered sugar and dates and I was picturing sort of a rice pudding made with whipping cream, powdered sugar and dates. But I just realized that I am a dork and had actually finished up the ingredient list with no room to add "whipping cream" or anything else for that matter. So, since I botched this one, I'll come up with the recipe and move us along.

Cook basmati rice according to package directions, adding a handful of coconuts. Add the dates to the mix just long enough to plump them. Meanwhile roll some extra dates in some powdered sugar, and garnish individual serving dishes of the rice mix with them.

And now for our next recipe, I'll add:

bacon

Asparagus "Sushi"

Steam short-grained white rice and lay in a thin layer on top of a mat. Arrange asparagus and cream cheese in center of rice. Roll the mat with rice and ingredients into a tight roll. Remove mat. Cut into smaller slices. Serve with dijon mustard on the side.

Okie dokie, this has sat here long enough.

Slow cook, boil, or roast the chicken (you choose). Meanwhile roast the almonds and chop them, and rinse the spinach (not baby spinach, we want regular size here), and remove the stems. Shred the chicken after it's fully cooked. Combine the chicken and almonds with a tablespoon or two of honey. Then on each spinach leaf put a tablespoon or two of the chicken mixture -- just enough to keep the chicken and almond mix together and provide a touch of sweetness, then roll up and secure with a toothpick.

EEEK! She's alive!!! emoticon I'll post an update to my blog soon. Sorry if I worried anyone. I've just had a super busy week, but I'm fine. Kelly, when I posted the sugar, I was thinking along the lines of corn on the cob that had soaked for a while in sugar water, then grilled. The lime and cheese would have been perfect for that. A spritz of lime juice and a sprinkling of parmesan. Mmmm. But my children and their schedules wiped me off the face of sparkpeople and I failed to be here when someone FINALLY posted a fourth ingredient. Sheesh! emoticon

Okay so we've got tomato sauce and zucchini.

I'll add canola oil

Ooooh Iíve got one! Slice the corn off the cob into a bowl. Melt the cheese and add to the corn. Just a dash of sugar and a squeeze of lime makes this a cheesy corn dip!!

Polenta with Black Beans and Avocado

(I actually had an idea of how to salvage this one, hence the corn meal)

Ok, I will take this one. I am making up a rule that you can add water when necessary. Bring water to a boil in a large heavy pot. Reduce heat until
water is simmering and add cornmeal. Cook, stirring constantly, 20 to 30 minutes. Pour mixture onto a platter and cool. Once cool, cut into strips.

Top polenta strips with black beans and avocado. Sprinkle chocolate shavings over avocado.

Shredded Chicken Salad with Orange-Sweet Potato Dressing

Combine shredded chicken with lettuce. In a food processor, combine orange with sweet potato. Process until smooth. Pour dressing over salad to taste and toss.

Yum!!

Blend 6 oz vanilla yogurt and 2 or 3 tablespoonds marmalade together. Freeze. Then garnish with a tablespoon chopped almonds and a sprig of fresh mint. Eat like ice cream. It would taste like a dreamsicle.

Kemgria: glad you didn't put in grape jelly. I know you were tempted!

Nicely done!! I think I would actually eat that. An addition to your cookbook perhaps?? Oh... to get rid of "I Read The Spark". Go to your SparkPage. Click on Edit My SparkPage. Uncheck "Show I Read The Spark icon". Done.

Whiz the spinach (steamed or raw) in a blender or food processor with the ricotta (which by the way is pretty random, IMO, but I'm game). Drizzle a little olive oil inside the trimmed artichokes before you cook them(an Italian trick). Serve with the ricotta spinach sauce dip.(By the way, I have not read The Spark but that just pops up randomly.
Ice Monkey help? How do i get that outa there?

Add 1 scoop of low-fat chocolate ice cream. Top with strawberries. Drizzle with butterscotch sauce (sugar free?). Sprinkle with graham cracker crumbs.

And, you have... a chocolate sundae

hmmmmm...this is pretty difficult with only 4 ingredients (and i put cream hoping someone would add tomatoes emoticon )

Ok, so the recipe I'll make from these 4 is pasta with a snow pea cream sauce (i'm thinking saute the garlic and peas for a bit, then mash those up, add some cream. cook a bit more and either serve like that or puree it?). emoticon

ok, maybe we need to move to 5 ingredients?

Hey Everyone!

So thought I'd throw another game in the mix, and keeping with the team's theme, it'll be an ingredient/cooking based one!

Here's how it works - each person posts one random ingredient...when 4 people have posted ingredients, the 5th person posts a dish using all of them!

So, I'll get it started with a standard addition of...

Garlic

"If something's broke, fix it. If you don't know how, learn. If you're not willing to learn, don't complain about it. If it can't be fixed, then accept it, and move on."
