Here is a baseball related idea. Train and practice as much as you can, then have a contest who can run the most bases. Either a flat time limit of how many runs can be scored, or see how long it takes to score x amount of runs. So either by time or runs scored.

Have the contest date like opening day or first week of April. There are baseball/softball fields in just about every town.

We can explore some of the rules/specifics later. Just an idea.

Maybe sprints (fartleks) as a goal? The players have to sprint between bases. Just a suggestion

I have On Demand, which has FitTv, it's awsome, because I get a great variety of workouts, I have found "Walk at Home" workouts that I love in the winter!
I'm really trying to think up a Spring Training Challenge, for Feb 14th! Hopefully, I will post something today or tomorrow!

I think the fact that you've given up beer will DEFINITELY help. I wish I had something like that to rely on, but I don't drink beer or pop but maybe have a glass of wine once a week. Sure is hard to resist that occasional Margarita or Strawberry Daiquiri. Yes I know I have high class tastes. Good thing we don't go out to bars anymore. Stopped when driving became hard to manage due to my sight problems.

As far as a challenge goes, I've always wanted to set up tires and run in them like the football players do. But since I probably couldn't see them to well, I'd probably be flat on my face in no time. I'll stick with videos and walking WHEN the weather is warm enough not to freeze.

I totally understand! Luckly, the only ones having to deal with my during withdrawl are my critters! So, I guess it's time to think up a short term challenge...for Spring Training. I was trying to think of a way to tie fitness & baseball together. But, really, my goal this year is 50lbs by August! I think the fact that I've given up beer will help.

Happy New Year CL....Hope that you have had great holiday celebrations.
Spring training is just a few short months away...I can't wait. Am hoping to get to the new training stadium in Mesa a couple of times.

Challenge ideas....I'm not sure what you want to do, but I have to get back on track as I said in my blog today. I not only didn't do your challenge for New Years, I actually gained weight since I last weighed in Sparks in Oct. So I have to get serious starting Monday. Still to many family happenings to start today. So Monday I'll probably be a cranky old ------, as I get off the sugar and salty high. Poor DH, but he has to also...could be divorce time for us.....or maybe at least a withdrawal fuss.
