I am often awake several times throughout the night, but usually can go back to sleep (I have had a sleep study done and tend to wake up an average of 1.6 times per hour) But that is far different than setting an alarm and having some strident sound screeching in my head, not to mention get up and concentrate enough to take the reading...... Once brain is engaged, all hope of going back to sleep is lost.....

Have you found anyone that can wake up, take a reading then go back to sleep? I couldn't.

I just have one question though. If sleep is so important to the overall good health of diabetics (and it is!), why would anyone tell us to set an alarm to wake up at 2 a.m.? OK, I know it is just to take a blood glucose reading and if everything is ok we can go back to sleep....... but WHAT IF we can't get back to sleep once we wake up? Just askin'......
