When I first started going to this doctor (2011), I had been out of work and did not have any insurance so couldn't afford any insulin. My A1C was well over 13 (I don't remember exactly anymore) But the last one was quite good at 4.2 -- almost too low. I am trying to keep it on the lower side, but not quite that low. I have experienced a number of hypo episodes and that is no fun, not to mention dangerous, so we are working to adjust my dose.....

How often does your doctor test your A1C? Are you within range?
