First time posting, I also think its the first time Ive drank 8 glasses of water in quite a few years... Im amazed that Im not starving, still trying to find a balance usually end up going to low...
Question, whats up with the scale saying one thing one minute and then in the pm 5 lbs more or less, is it a water thing or what, I was all happy and then boom what happened?

I normally check my weight on Mondays but I was kind of busy and so I did it today. When I got on the scales I was happy because I realized that I had lost a couple of pounds. I weight 173 pounds and I am eatting better. So I cant wait until I get into my skinny jeans again. Thanks Sparkpeople.

having a bladder disease (interstitial cystitis) has held me back for years (since 1992) from increasing any beverage intake. that combined with poor learned behavior eating habits has gotten me where i am today. I will try to do my best. not easy when i can only hold 2 1/2 fl oz comfortably as compared to the adverage person 16-24 oz. i am very frustrated but i will continue to try. btw there is no cure.

I've been doing really good with water,12 glasses today. I have been weighing and measuring my food since I started SP. I average 5 fruits and veggies a day would like get in more veggies which is one of my March goals.

Taking baby steps

I don't have to worry about drinking the water. I have been drinking about 100 oz every day for the last 5 years. I know how to measure and weigh food because my husband is a diabetic type 1 and has been for 21 years. I just have to measure mine now. I have to do better on eating the fruits and vegetables. emoticon

Did well with water, fruits and veggies. Measured most things but eyeballed the chicken in our dinner salad and felt like I was probably a little heavy-handed tonight. Will have to be sure to measure going forward.

So far so good today..Water is at 10, veggies at 5, fruits at 3..Just bought a food scale to help make sure those protein servings are accurate!

Indian standard Time!Now 54 yrs old.Had a Sleeve Gastrectomy and like most of us who have had this survey-it is a welcome surgery and ,howeer a radical lifestyle change-in diet,exercise,evrything.Weight is down by 20 kilos.That is a whole new me but I need to lose a couple of 5 more kilose hopefully due to newly diagnosed psoriatic arthritis.Well here's to all of us ,everybody!I am on a new challenge that

My significant other thinks I am crazy for weighing my protein, but I cannot guesstimate if I want to really lose, which I DO!

Drinking water - check
Eating Fruits & Veggies - check (for today. Usually I am a serving under where I need to be)

My goal is to have lost at least 25 by Thursday (I was at 24.4 last Thursday).

The water's certainly not a problem, but the fresh fruit & veggies are something I need more work on. Funny, because I emoticon fresh produce, especially after working in a produce store for several months. I had no problem getting in my amounts - & more - because we could have it at work for no cost. I think I have a problem now because I'm not there everyday & don't always think of buying it 'til after. I did buy several pieces of fresh fruit & some veggies this morning, though, & so I think things'll be getting better that way again. :D

Great way to start the week-refresh with lots of water and re-focus on portions and eating enoughs fruits and vegetables. Water usually isn't an issue for me and MY TREAT after weigh in at TOPS is stopping for fresh fruits and vegetables for the week.I always make sure one of my purchases is something exotic or just in season.

I don't have a problem with water intake cause I use a 1qt 1.8 fl oz bottle and I fill it four times a day. For fruits and veggies well I have fruit in my cereal and then when I make lunch I eat lettuce,tomatoes on my sandwich.Then for dinner I eat 2-3 veggies more.Then another fruit for after dinner.For the weighing and measuring portions I don't have a scale yet.So I been doing it by hand the old fashion way.This is a great challenge. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon Edited by: SANDY92308 at: 3/8/2010 (17:13)

Thanks for the challenge! Water never a problem for me...fruits & veggies same thing - banana almost every morning & at least one salad per day. Pears/peaches as evening snack along with 2-3 veggies @ dinner. Weighing & measuring...so-so -- not my greatest talent ;) I'm giving myself poitns for 2 out of 3 :D Have a great week everyone!

I'm such an overeater, that I have to weigh and measure everything. Then, keep track of it. It helps tremendously.

I am always weighing my portions, have had to since starting my diet in August, with my new water bottle that my mother in law got me for my birthday I get a total of 9 glasses of water a day because I fill it 3 times a day, and for my fruits and veggies I get anywhere from 4 to 6 servings a day because we have a salad for lunch everyday at work and I make sure I have atleast one veggie for dinner at night and usually fruit for my snacks and breakfast.

I loathe vegetable (it's a texture thing) so I am drinking low sodium V-8 Juice in order to get my daily veggies now... I used to just skip veggies all together.

I wish everything was as easy for me as getting a minimum of 8 glasses of water per day. By 10 a.m. I was already at 4 - water is my drink of choice 95% of the time.

I need to increase my water for sure! I usually eat the fruit and veggies without a problem. Still working on portion sizes. Water check! fruits and Veggies check! I don't have a scale but I am eating now off a small dessert plate, if doesn't fit I don't take it. I am also putting myself on check and eating only until I am full, this leads to me making decisions that say I am only wanting more because I like it not because I am not full. A week or two ago, I started eating Jello, some fruit already sliced and peeled in a dish prepared for lunch and one extra fruit like an apple encase I wasn't getting full at lunch time. This seems to work for me and I am starting to get back on track. Thanks!
