I did all three sets in addition to some other strength exercises as this was a strength day for me. It was harder than I thought because I was also doing modified pushups as well. I'm glad I did it tho as I need to increase my arm strength.

What a simple but effective exercise! I felt it when I did my first set and then forgot to get back to the other 2 sets until just now. But now they're done and I'm glad I did it! :-)

WOW...it burns so good. After just one set I knocked the other 2 sets down to 10 reps per set. The upper-body strength I thought I had, apparently does not exsist!...LOL I will definately be adding this as an every other day strength trainer.

It so great being new to this to see so many people making progress...you all give us newby's Hope! Keep rockin it!

Like Tammy, I too could only do two sets. I have a bad shoulder, which is part of my problem. I used to do these in the pool when I did water aerobics and they were really a good workout because the water provides good resistance. I am going to keep doing these but maybe work my way up in the number of sets I do.

I could only do 2 sets. I liked doing it, but seemed hard. I will try to do the other set later (if I remember). I could feel it burn. I guess I need to change up my upper body routing a bit, it doesn't seem as hard when I use 5-lb weights and pull over my head. This was hard. Thanks for motivating to try something different. I need a kick in the butt to do this.

I only did 2 sets, since I also did upper body work with the Bootcamp video today. We'll see how I feel the burn tomorrow, because I tried the modified push ups, but ended up just moving myself as far down the wall as I could go to challenge myself.

Here I thought I was the only one to do such exercises at work in the bathroom!

I do this exercise to help loosen my tendons in my legs too. I have a birth problemm with them being very stiff and I have to loosen them up often or I have trouble with walking normally. I tend to limp a lot!

Thanks for getting this out there for others to use as well.

Quick and easy! I think I'll make it part of my morning routine. Walk in the office, put my stuff down and before I go check in with my staff do wall push-ups. Thanks for the idea!

Done! My arms are feeling it.....the first set was not a problem, the second set getting a little tougher, but my third set as i'm counting to the 15th and last push up, my arms started getting a little wobbly....wow what a great addition to my workout. Thank you! Keep the daily challenges coming as they are a great addition to my workout. I've also saved it in my fav's too!!!

I don't plan on taking part in the challenge as I have 2 fitness classes that I'm attending today. The first was a Knockout Workout at 7:00 for my cardio. The second is a Mucsle Pump class over the lunch hour. Between the two I may not be able to walk tomorrow. Thanks for the motivation

Just did 3 sets of te wall pusups and my arms are aching too. I think you're right WOOZKAT these seem more intense than the modified pushups.

This is a VERY effective excercise. My arms are still burning!
I actually feel I got a better workout with these than modified pushups. Not sure why, maybe because since I'm not lifting my entire body weight I can get closer to the wall than the floor.
Thanks! These are going to replace the modified in my upper arm workouts.

Hi guys! Just wanted to weigh in on these. I am looking forward to them today as regular pushups are still out of my realm of possibility due to my back.
I have been using a fitness ball to get a semblance of a push up form back but not ready to go full on face to the mat yet :p

I am so happy to see the mini challenges come back. I have been going to the Y here about two to three days a week and try to throw in some Michael Jackson whenever I am home. But really missed these mini challenges. Thanks for bringing them back. Tuesday wall pushups alright.

Hey Thanks for this! I just joined SparkPeople yesterday. I was so busy today that I skipped lunch and made some bad food choices for dinner because I was starving. I was feeling very bad about my start, but this gave me something to do to feel proud of. Regular push-ups have always been difficult for me because I'm busty and have weak arms. Wall push-ups are a great solution. I did all three sets and felt a nice burn in my triceps and upper chest. I'm going to try to do these daily. Thanks for the motivation and a great mini challenge. emoticon

Are you ready for some upper body strength exercise??? These you can do anywhere! In the office, at home, watching tv, etc....you get the picture! Let's have fun...and don't forget to mark them up in your Fitness tracker under Strength Exercises...

Starting Position
Start facing wall, arms length away, feet slightly apart, legs straight (but knees not locked). Place hands onto wall, slightly wider than shoulder-width apart.

Action
EXHALE: Keeping head in neutral position, bend elbows to lower head/chest toward wall, coming as close as you can to it but not touching it.

INHALE: Straighten arms and return to starting position for one rep.

Special Instructions
The further your feet are away from the wall, the more difficult this exercise will be. Also be sure not to lock knees or elbows.

Muscles Worked: Chest, Triceps, Shoulders
