Elf, I know what you mean! I'm writing a book with two female cousins, and when they're in the room together - oy! She, her cousin, Brandi, the other woman... Thank goodness for action tags!

My favorite phrase lately: I'll fix it in the rewrite.

With third you have to find a balance between names and he/she as not having names often enough can be confusing and too much comes off a little odd. I have to work on that with mine in particular because there are many scenes between just boys since I write boy/boy storylines.

Sometimes, I will write in first person. When I write in 3rd. I will sometimes use names instead of he or she, depending on the situation.

I know first person is popular but as a reader and writer, it's not something I care for most of the time. Writing wise, I do third person limited. The story is in third person but the point of view is limited to one or two main characters and the chapters tend to be specific to one point of view, not changing between too often.

3rd person Multiple. POV allows narrator to follow multiple characters within story. Narrator can switch between characters and relate story from their perspective.

3rd person Omniscient, narrator knows everything about all characters

Writing in the first person, as narrator you recall events that happened to the Protagonist but you do not know what he is thinking, unless he chooses to share his thoughts.

Second person pov is not as popular as first or 3rd. It can be tricky but can be done.

Advantage of 2nd person you bring reader into action quickly. Disadvantage second person is hardest pov to do effectively.

3rd pov is perhaps more commonly used as it gives flexibility.
