I'm not the most descriptive so ti's things I have to add in revision and edits, but I ignore in first draft so that it doesn't stall things.

However, I went to college in Ogden. :-D

May is going to be a little cooler than June, obviously. There are the mountains and on occasion lake effect snow but they don't get as much snow that late (May is pretty late for snow but I've seen flakes in laramie wyoming in June). For northern Utah, you're looking at pretty decent weather, trees and lots of plants. There are lots of little booths for fresh produce that come out around middle end of spring all the way through summer nearby. Mountain tops will show snow till early summer though. Plus they are used to that kind of weather so can wear shorts even if it's chilly compared to say, California. My sister lives in Cali now so she's cold in anything below 70 degrees, lol. Whereas I would be able to wear shorts in colder weather (well, not as much now as losing weight has left me colder a little easier) but still. One of our debaters was the type to wear flip flops all year long, even with the several feet of snow in winter in Ogden.

I don't remember it all but I know some from living there, if you have any questions on it. Plus, lots of information available online. Joys of rewrites/edits, fixing all the things.

It takes place in Ogden, Utah in May or June. I guess I didn't really take note of the weather here until I started writing about it.

*where* your story takes place will help you add the sights and smells and sounds that come with the seasons.

I wrote one that took place in March in Atlanta. My editor suggested I move it to Wyoming (to take advantage of the characters in the previous book). When I was reading through it after moving it to Wyoming, I realized I had the characters in t-shirts and shorts. It's a lot colder in March in Wyoming than in Atlanta!

What about thunderstorms and flowers starting to grow and buds on trees? Then cloudy days and walking in the rain. There is so much a character can do with weather. You could even have a flood. I know we had one in the cellar. They could be caught in a rain storm and run for cover, and find a place to stay till it stops.

I need a little advice. My story takes place in May/June. I find I'm ignoring weather and seasonal descriptions. I haven't written anything that takes place at a time of year that I was not personally experiencing at the time.
