Nice work. I'm still working on my nanowrimo novel but for now just trying to write at least 100 words a day. Work days can be crazy around the holidays.

Ended up with 33k for the month. Not bad since I don't get a whole lot out fast when not writing fantasy, plus had vacation and work. Novel is going well and I've still got probably another 30k to go for the first draft. Will keep writing in December.

Made it to 25,000. Have a lot left, of course, and I probably won't make 50k this year. I'm just writing every day at least some because I want to make progress on the novel. Doesn't matter if I finish in November or December. Though, I do have the very last day of the month off so that will involve coffee and writing.

mmm coffee

It does take up time to type up everything when hand writing. I will write in a notebook on occasion, like at work, but then there is the issue of putting it with the rest of the novel on the computer and for nanowrimo the official word count verification is online, though you can just input the words. Aside from time you also have the urge to fix things and change, so it's really like writing it all over again.

I don't hand write because it hurts my hand after about a paragraph, but I did try starting a novel once like that. Glad I didn't stay that way as when I ended up restarting for nanowrimo the one year that was the one that ended up over 150,000 words.

This year, I'm typing and I have just over 17,000 so far. Going to be a tough push at the end to make word count goal.

What is so hard about typing it on the computer, time?

Been working hard. I found if I go to a café or something in the morning, I get more done. I write by hand and now I'm a good way through my novel. My only problem is typing it on the computer.

I haven't even had a chance to work on NaNo novel today yet. I write more at night though, so don't expect much from mornings with me. I wrote a flash fiction bit and a short story for the I Write challenge I joined, which still has a couple of weeks left. I'm going to write in the NaNo novel next while I also finish the two newsletters. I'm at almost 9k right now, so probably won't be "caught up" for a couple of days but I'll get closer.

Hmm on the 15th supposed to have 25k. I have almost 7k. Slightly behind. ;-)

I'm just trying to write any amount on the days I work. After this weekend, I have 2 days off in a row. I can do laundry, catch up online obligation and write. Plus drink lots of coffee. mmm

I have done 50k in 10 days or less before, so it's definitely still manageable. I plan to try for a 10k day on one of my days off, which will be coming up on Monday. This novel is a little different than the 165k one though as it's contemporary YA so overall, not near as long, but still think I can manage the 50k with it even though I didn't plan it out in advance. If I get to the end before month ends, I'll add chapters to Boys Read Romance as it's also contemporary YA.

I didn't write the last couple of days but hope to get 2k today, though I'm working 10 hours. We will see how it goes.

I'm 450 words behind, so 2K tonight to catch up. But I've planned for only 25K, so that 450 won't hurt too badly.

And you write like crazy sometimes, right? You'll have no problem catching up.

that's always been my problem as I have several going at the same time, So I never know which on to work on. I have been trying to write the recovery story for a while, I wrote journal entries for the days I was laying in bed resting and healing. So I have the feelings and events and emotions my journal up until he released me was very detailed. I'm looking forward to seeing where this fiction one goes. Maybe it will be easier to write it as a fiction than non fiction. see it from a characters point of view instead of mine. Characters seem to solve problems in a story than I can in real life sometimes.

Almost time to start writing. I ended up changing my mind on the novel I'm going to work on as the one YA needs more world building and prep before I can attempt it. Just need to decide what I'm going to write. hmmm

When I was the age of you guys I wrote everyday. Now, lucky to find time as takes me longer to do stuff around here. Never did any NaNoWriMo and don't think I want to try.

I don't know if you remember or not but at one time, on this board, we started a story and everyone added to it. It was fun, but I don't think we have enough interested to do it again.
That was helping some beginners to see how things were added to make a story.

I'm doing Nano as well. Working on a fiction piece called Strength from within. Using 3 characters each having issues taken from my real life experiences all trying to become a part of society after dealing with these issues.

I'm hoping it will help me deal with the issues I've had since I have had foot surgery. Not something I would do again I don't think, There were /are too many issues I'm now dealing with. The brightest of them all losing 10 lbs. ( but thats from not eating as much because i wasnt active during the 9 weeks of recovery.)

Yep. I take part almost every year. Last year, I didn't get 50k but i was a rebel and worked on finishing already started novels instead of starting yet another. This year, I have a new one and I"m looking forward to write it even though in prep I'm noticing that I know a limited amount about the novel. I'm more of a pantser than plotter anyways.

I'm writing YA dystopian-ish type this year. Will be a challenge since I have a lot going on in November including a week long vacation (well 8 days now that I got an extra day off and might be able to leave early) where I'm driving 4 of the days.

I did my first attempt back in like 2006 but only got a couple of thousand words. 2007 I made it over 10k finally but didn't get near 50. 2008 I finally made it to 50,000 words. Just have fun, write and no matter what you get, that's more than you had on October 31st. ;-)
