Admitting discouragement today. Not with my own journey to better health and weight loss. Has nothing to do with that. Can't elaborate, only to say that I am very disheartened today. Today's personal challenge is my emotions

Sometimes, out of sight is out of mind. I find having an Activa helps sooth that urge for something sweet. I can remember back when years ago when I would come home from work and be eating a hearsay bar. I love my sweets but my body doesn't. Sometimes, our body is telling us what is not good for us, only in moderation.

For awhile my dh and I were eating ice cream every evening!! I figured if I kept on with this, it might not talke long and I would be upset with myself. So I thought of a trick. I still had ice cream but just a couple of Tablespoons full, instead of the pile of ice cream I had be devouring.

Just as you said Camey, I wasn't being deprived.

Start slowly that way you will not feel you are being deprived of the food you love. Eat a little less each day until I can finally go into a small cereal dish. If you want a sweet divide it in half and have half for lunch and the other half for supper. That way you are only having one.

This is a day to day journey. Should we sidestep or misstep more than what we ought to have we don't dwell on it, we don't let it get to us. We move past it and keep going. Today, I am starting to improve my meals with less starch and staying away from sweets. Today, is an improvement from last week. Today, I am not sitting around and letting the weight stay in place. Instead, I am moving around and loosing up the weight so tomorrow when I get on the scale I will have lost. Why just worry about losing when you can do something about it?

Today, I am working on the weight from the two confirmation parties. Mother's day is coming and there will be another feast to attend. I have put the chocolate mint cookies in the freezer. They still taste good from the freezer but they are out of the eye reach. Today, I will not let stress enter my day and keep my self busy. Today, will be a day of happiness and joy.

I was on lipitor an ended up with spasms so had to get off. Right now mine is 2l3 and even tho he wants it 200 or less he is happy with this.

I found out I have Osteoporosis and he has me on OJ, yogurt and milk products. I can't see at my age it is going to help right now my bones are ready for a fracture if I fall. So I try not to do too much exercise, only what I think I can do.

I have a degenerated this from a fall long ago and lately I find I have to watch myself because i tend to start to fall on the left side. It could be from having a pocket book on that side all my life.

With the darn allergies I have plops in the nose which sometimes block my breathing and when or if they become larger he will take them out, which I am not looking forward to as I bleed. He put me on steroids once and they left but then I was constantly getting bloody noses.

I guess we all have something wrong with us but I can't really complain except for the pain with the arthritis in my ankles and hands. He says I have it all over and starting to feel the pain but I am lucky I am not worst like others I know. So thankful for that. I guess we all have to have something as we get older.

Sticking together and helping each other along the way is the best avenue to take. We can talk about what ails ups and seek help from others that have been there.

I also have mild cholesterol issues but because my blood pressure is spot on they say it cancels it out as to any real concerns. None the less they have me on Lipitor.

The other is the muscles in my back up and down both sides of my spine have weakened so they have me doing exercises to strengthen them. I know losing the remainder of my weight will certainly be of help.

I have to keep the cholesterol down. Other wise the doc tells me I am ok and healthy. The only problem I have with my weight is sometimes I let a spare tire find me and need to work it off.
Then there is the arthritis and spasms I have to deal with.

But I am happy and do not have any challenges besides that. I am happy and satisfied with my life and family and friends.

I do try to help others who could use my help in any way and I suppose that is one reason my life is happy too. It feels good to make some one smile who stopped.

I have no challenges. I don't need to lose weight. I just walk, do my bike and weights every day for helping the body as it ages.

I do not drink when I go out but when I come back I do manage to drink 4 bottles of water a day.
If I am home I start with one at breakfast, one at lunch, and one at supper, and one glass with my vit D and one with BP.

For me, it always seems to be getting enough water drank.
Seeing as Mon - Fri I spend most of my time at work, as of tomorrow, I am setting up a water cooler in my office.

It is hard for people to commit because they do not have the courage to continue if they fall back. It is like being addicted to something. When you fall back you have to get up and try again or else it will never happen. I watch the 600 lb. and watch them eat and eat and gain. It is so sad but they need help and others may too. I have my moments with sweets. If I eat a small meal I am fine. But there are times I have bread and butter, fish and veggies and desert and that day I gain. But you need to have a big meal once in a while too or else you will never lose and get depressed.

Figuring out how to change is a tough thing. Committing to small changes means that you have to remember what you're committed to.
Sometimes people need to simplify their lives before they can make healthy changes. That is what I had to do.

I have been on spark pages where people say they want to lose weight but they never post about it or ask for help. When help is staring them in the face they just turn the other cheek and avoid it. I have heard excuses that it is too hard and they can't do it. Cop out and you know it.
Nothing is easy in life. Start being a grown up and get on the band wagon. Do you want to wait till the doc tells you if you do not lose you could lose your life? Do you want to wait that long?
Maybe your time is starting to get closer to that. Isn't it time to wake up before it is too late?
Think about it. Don't you want to be here a healthier person?

So many post about health here. So many good pieces of advice and all gone to waste.
Some times I wonder why we bother to put ourselves out to help.

Tomorrow, is fish. Fish is good for lowering cholesterol and weight. You can still have your sweet and lose weight. You just have to adjust your other meals. I used to eat on a plate of food with meat, chicken, fish, etc. and veggies and sometimes have seconds. Now, it is a small plate with one meal and no helpings and my sweet. Learn how to change your system. It takes time and you will want to grab something someday and eat. It takes about two weeks before it kicks in and you do not want more. What have you got to lose. Then keep busy. When not busy you want to go for food because of being board. Remember, it took time to put it on and it takes time to take it off. A little here and there adds and we think nothing of it until we see the scale.
That is the reason I am always checking. The other way to know if you are gaining is to find the clothes are tight and then you have to lose or else buy new clothes and who wants to be in a bigger size?

It is hard when you are limited to what you can eat. I have problems with acids like coffee, tea, tomato sauce, cukes, brussel spouts, cabbage, cauliflower, etc. Then if I have cheese it binds me. Then there is watch the cholesterol like meats and stuff.

I can remember when I could eat anything and nothing bothered me but those days are gone.

My challenge for today was trying to find something to eat that wouldn't upset my stomach.
Which I should have just stuck to drinking clear liquids because after eating I ended up sitting in the bathroom for a while.

So not feeling good also kept me from exercising.

Has anyone tried a new exercise lately? What was it? What exercise do you do to lose weight?
How many use the bike, treadmill, or just pull strings and weights.

I use the 3 lb. weights. I used to be able to use the 5 but my shoulder started so I had to ease up. I do do my bike everyday but love walking best. I want to go to the gym but hate going alone.

You will find as you age your blood gets thinner. I was out doing grocery shopping and it was cold and my boots keep me warm I figured because I didn't feel cold, but when I got home and took off my boots my toes were ice cold. There are days, in the winter, my legs will get ice cold too. I talked to friends and some get the same feeling in the winter. So I guess my blood must be getting thinner.

I am off to do my bike and my reg work out. I am down 7 tenths of a lb today an happy about it.
I am cutting back on everything and only toast with margarine in the morning, cereal dish with food for lunch and then have my ice cream cone for supper. I find I am not hungry at supper.
I have my meat, fish, chicken, etc. with veggies in the afternoon so I do get enough as my stomach has gotten smaller since the weight is coming off. Not that I have a lot to lose but I have noticed the pants a little tighter and now getting loose again. With the holidays out of the way clear sailing till Easter and those sweets show up again.

I take it you're not used to chillier temperatures JS?

It's that here in Coronation AB this morning Without a wind, that to us is warm.
Dressing warm but not with the heavier winter coats and boots etc.

My challenge here is the dampness and humidity this time of year. They all claim it's a drier province My body would make a liar out of them. LOL

That is a good idea for sure!!

My challenge today was to get in and do vigorous exercise,, even though I did not feel like it.
Finished 40 minutes fast walking and upper body with Leslie Sansone + weights and stretch bands ........(for upper body today) ... Glad I did.

Thursday: Mine today will begin the arduous task of copying my blogs on a flash drive. There are over five years worth that I like, but I will not let it become a daunting task, just allow so much time and move on.

I also sat down first thing and wrote a query letter to fit my writings. I feel that alone, was a big accomplishment of the day!

I am also happy to say I have been losing both inches and pounds, and notice even my appetite is changing. I am satisfied with less food than before, and often do not need a snack to get me by until dinner. (If I do, I eat a few grapes or an orange).

I started washing the clothes and then ready after mail for the bike. I have my stretch exercises ready all the time to go on the door. I try to walk around the house for l5 min and get warmed up before I start exercising and also do stretching.

Now for exercising the mouth all you have to do is keep it shut so no sweets go into it I tell myself and it has been working because I head for a bottle or water or coffee. It is hard but you have to want to do it or else all you see is the lbs building up.

Just to give you an idea of what a regular day is like for me.

I'm up at 4:30 a 1/2 hour of exercises done, grab a quick shower, look after 8 cats, 3 dogs, putting on coffee, making sure I have everything Walt needs by the time he gets up at 6:30, his thermos filled, smokes rolled. Yeah, I live with a smoker but I roll them so that I can kind of "control" the amount of tobacco that goes in them and the number of smokes he smokes during a workday. He's acceptable to that.
Tidying up what needs to be tidied to keep on top of; kitchen cleaned dishwasher started, bathroom cleaned floors swept.
Then I'm getting myself ready, dressed hair make-up and then you'll find me quickly checking messages for both work and personal and Sparkpeople.
And that's just my home morning! I'm usually out the door by 7:30 to get my workday started. I like the quiet for the hour and a half before everyone else starts arriving. I open, make sure doors are unlocked, everything is up and running, coffee is on. If it's snowed I shovel stairs, and sidewalks both front and back. After all of that, I start my actual work day with clients until 5-5:30.
I have a very full very busy life. That's why ME time, US time is so important

What I found with toning; rather than do the entire body in one day and suffer the consequences for several days after, do the top toning and cardio then the next day do the bottom toning and cardio. It's the best of both worlds trust me!
That way when you doing the bottom the top is recouping the 24 hours in between and vice versa. Trust me it works. Learned that from a trainer!

I really only do two toning exercises For the top and abs I do modified planks and cardio is my step climber
Then for the bottom half, I do the squats against the wall and my step machine

I have a fit bit to keep track of my steps and heart rate etc.

During the week because I work a full-time desk job I average between 3-5000 steps 1-2 miles On weekends I reach about 8,000 3-4 miles just doing housework and running errands.
And that's pretty much me at this point

Don't pay for your writing and watch any contracts you sign.

I do my bike and add strength to it. I also have the bands to pull. There is one where you lie on the floor and put a pillow between your legs and a rubber band around your legs and you push in the pillow and then you push out on the band and it helps build up the back muscles. Walking is good but I only do it outside when the weather is warm. My legs get tired walking around the mall so I walk around the house. There are chair exercises too. While sick with this bug can't do much and day drags. When I have my routine time flies.

Wednesday: My fitness challenge was to take a video I had not done before. Today is my day for strength training, and it was great doing something new and what a workout it was! I then attached my own stretch bands to the door and did numerous reps, also used my 6# medicine ball. Tomorrow will be back to cardio.

For writing: I continue to write 'something' daily, and adding to my collection, plus it is such good mental stimulation and exercise of my brain. I am sometimes in awe of how quickly the day passes as I stay busy and productive.

Research: I began to investigate the big-wide-world- of publishers and send forth an inquiry for information to a publishing company. They say they will be sending me materials. I feel good at getting started on this end of the process.

Today DH took down the clothes and they are in the machine. Once they are done he will take them up. I like to hang them first as I do a better job. LOL. Then towels need to go in and he will take them up when they are done too. Today I will just make him clam chowder and I will have Bailey soup. The other days was beef stew and salmon when I didn't feel that great but we still have to eat.

I don't drive like I use to anymore with highway and age and he takes me here and there and doc appointments and we go out to eat too. Yesterday, he took out the trash, bottles and newspapers so now that is out of the way.

Al decorations are gone and he took the lights down and the tree. So back to normal.

A happy day to see a lb. and .4 off the scale. No more sweets in the house, well, maybe a small nutty bar, but everything else is gone. Yea. Eating right as we have fish tomorrow and today finished up the beef stew.

Not up to par with this bug. Not sleeping right with nose blocked and have started mucinex not sure of spelling and too lazy to get up and check box. But it is working and I am starting to blow nose and stuff coming to surface.

On the way down now and happy about it.

We may not always loose because it takes a while for the body to adjust after all that xmas eating but it will come off if you continue to do your exercise and eat right. Don't give up hope.

Yesterday was a bad day. It was cold and rainy. And I was craving comfy foods. I ate too much and went over my points for weight watchers. I've been in my goal zone since last Wednesday.

Monday - is a day I do not wish to repeat. I woke up with fever, chills and dizziness. I couldn't eat anything. I fought it tooth and nail and managed a 1/2 day at work. I came home at noon made Walt his lunch and then bundled up in extra sweaters and blankets and sweated it out. It's now 9:40 pm and I'm feeling much better I'm still a little warm but the chills and dizziness are gone. I should be as right as rain come morning.

You're not alone Mary,
My hubs can eat whatever he wants and doesn't gain a pound It can get quite agitating if I let it get to me. But what I do is have his foods on one side of the fridge or cupboard and mne on another.
But we also have a neutral zone of things we can both have. It works.

My eating has been way off this past month and a half. I've done a lot of stress eating. I have started getting in more steps since the first of the month. I need to get back to eating better but it is hard when hubby can eat anything he wants. So we have lots of unhealthy foods in the house. Now that we are finally moved into the new house it's time to get a routine going that will help me keep up with my exercise and eating.

My morning begins with a 16-ounce glass of Apple cider vinegar water and 3 sets of 15 bicep, 3 sets of 15 tri-cep exercise. Then I start my day of what needs to be taken care of before I head out the door on foot for my 15-minute walk to work.
Then I walk home at lunch and back to work after lunch and home again at das end.
Breakfast is my 12-ounce fruit and vegetable smoothie once I get to work.
Lunch more of the same.
Dinner is usually a salad and 4-6 ounces of meat. During the summer I do a lot of BBQing.
But even in doing that kind of program for myself I seem to be stuck.
I've even had a consultation with the dietary and my doctor and they don't understand it. I walked them through a typical day and their response "Gayle we don't know what to tell you. You're doing everything right.
But for myself maybe it's too much meat and red meat in particular.

What does everyone face as an obstacle when it comes to healthy food choices and weight loss?

You all know how because I work full-time, I PUSH through because I HAVE to in order to keep my house clean and in order. My issues and biggest obstacle...ME, my body. With the back issues I have, I am very limited in what I can do as to exercises. Right now I'm doing the exercises prescribed by my physician for strengthening the muscles along my spine. Once I have those strengthened I should be more on top of my game and can do other exercises other than walking.

This image shows a 250 lb woman on the left and a 120 lb woman on the right. We can see weight gain from the outside, but we usually can't see what it's doing on the inside. Look at the fat surrounding the organs in the woman on the left. Do you also see the fat around her heart and around her brain? More than a little frightening, isn't it?
Look at the compression around the stomach and internal organs. Do you think that would have any impact on GERD (reflux disease), indigestion and elimination? Look at the compressed knee joints. Do you think those joints ache a little more than they should? How do you think her hips and back are feeling?

Imagine how much harder her body has to work than the woman on the right. Imagine the inflammation she has throughout her entire body!!! How does she sleep at night? Does she need a C-pap to prevent sleep apnea?
Does she wake rested? Can she care for her young children or grandchildren as easily as the women on the right? Is she living a happy healthy life

My observation would be a flat out no. Why because I used to be that woman on the left, only heavier.

It doesn't have to be that way. The choice is yours. No, it will not be overnight. It'll take some work and determination. We have a lot to lose and a lot of health and wellness to gain!!!!

It is NOT about getting skinny ... HECK NO!
It is about taking back control!
It is about building confidence!
It is about focusing on nutrition!
It is about letting go of the negative!
It is about finding new strengths!
It is about working on endurance!
It is about preserving your health!

It's been a LOOOOONG week. I've been out on the road three days out of four plus going to Red Deer Friday for that dad blasted appointment for the Biatric Surgery Information Session. And that's all it was, was information. They didn't tell me anything I didn't already know; keep9ng a journal low carb higher protein and exercise. The other thing was they wanted us to check in once a month. I can't travel all the way to Red Deer every month take a day off work plus travelling expenses. Phshaw! And of course the three types and choices of surgery.

I have three months to decide whether I want to sign up.
Decision made. Not happening.
I can do this and if it's accountability I can do that right here with my doctor or nutritionist without going all the way to Red Deer once a month.
If I weighed 300-400 pounds I might consider it because then I would be legible for surgery. But only being 225 and needing to lose like 50-70 pounds......no.

I may not as a serious writer as some are here but for that portion I'd like to do it right from the get go so that if I should all of a sudden think about publishing any of my works they're done right and ready to go.

As for weight loss I have to be serious because it's for my health, my life sake, as it should be for just about everyone. if your health is perfect and you're just looking to loose a few pounds fine. But most of us here join for our health as well.

When I first joined I was literally being threatened with losing my life. I had several issues including being border line diabetic and at that time I was told I'd no longer be here within the next 7-10 years. I NEVER want to be in that position again. So I KEEP doing what I'm doing to keep it from happening, PERIOD.
Our lives are not a game They are our lives however, and I'll keep pushing for the best life I can have going into my senior years.

With my mom having Aggressive Dementia damn straight I'll do everything in my power to prevent it from happening to me and pass that on so that I can help others prevent it from happening to them.
That's why I'm here.

Today I'm putting ME out there. The present me. What this Me is being made to feel TODAY. I don't expect anyone to understand because most of this deals only with what I'm going through presently. I know I'll come through it. I always do.

Even knowing this and living by it I'm feeling very discouraged these days. With EVERYTHING! My heart is so full. Full of hurt and ache. I'm feeling like I'm losing even though I'm winning. Outside of work and home where what I do does count for something I still feel like I'm just a part of he furniture.

I guess it's all just finally catching up with me. It's not the stress or work load. I handle that just fine. I LOVE my challenged part of my life. It's what keeps me sane. It's the combination of it ALL
Work, home, mom dealing with aggressive Alzheimer, family and my own health that I presently struggle with day in day out.
And I'm never allowed to voice what I'm feeling or have an opinion. So I talk to god and these four walls. Walter stands by me 200% but I can't always being unburdening myself to him either it's to heavy.
It would be to easy to say I'm invisible. Instead I feel painfully visible and entirely ignored.
I put my authentic imperfect self out there every day for my boss, my co-workers, my family, YOU Pushing and supporting everyone else to be strong and positive, stubborn, to keep fighting to NEVER GIVE UP. I do this EVERY day, but today I need to do this too.

I hate feeling like this. There are days when I'm feeling sad and not knowing why, feeling empty, but nothing particular happened. They ask me what's wrong and I can't explain it because at that moment I don't even know or can define what I'm feeling. I'm just feeling.

So there it is Something I've NEVER done is share my heart, poured it out open and honest. Now I'll put my masks back on and continue with my day.
It's Saturday and I'm in the middle of my Saturday things I do. A part of that today is keeping busy so that I don't think.

Unfortunately I have issues at the moment to My sciatica has acted up and has been such a crippling pain that it's hindered my routine. So my focus right now is getting that under control again.

I am working hard to get back the strength in my leg after doing something to my knee just after Thanksgiving. I've not been able to do a lot of exercise until this week so I'm easing into it.

Since the 1st of the year I've noticed things that are good for me. I got a Spark-mail from someone that wrote about cereal we eat. She listed lots of different kinds and one of the best for us is Shredded Wheat. As I read about Shredded Wheat I had a strong taste for it. I haven't had that in years!!

I also read about a walking plan. I think God was telling me I need to walk!
I'm also drinking more water! Yes, me!

Myfocus day is getting in my 20 minutes of walking (weather permitting) or dancing. Also, 20 deep breaths.

Renewing the commitment
Every year at this time, I like to renew my commitment to health. I take my healthy habits and give them an upgrade. This commitment is my priority for wellness and weight management. It also helps me to manage Type II Diabetes.
1. Drink water throughout the day. I always have a glass of water in the car and at the computer.
2. 2. Replace one cup of coffee with green tea. I used to drink 2 cups of coffee a day, but now just one.
3. Plan my meals every week. I make my salads and soups on Saturday or Sundays, and have a good start to my meals by making a double or triple batch of the soup and freezing the extra.
4. Walk every day. If I can’t walk due to weather, I dance or get in the domestic workout of shoveling snow.
5. Get in my 8 hours of sleep. I need it, and I’m worth it!

And it begins; the final leg of my journey begins with a first step as of today. This is the year we reach goal weight!
We have 365 days ahead in which to accomplish this final feat. And a feat it will be!
I've been through many an up hill, down hill, hit some plateaus; emotional, mentally which caused a stall but I've battled through to the other side and won! And although I haven't reached my intended goal I still came out the winner on the other side and made still made progress none the less.

You all know me by now and what my "moto" is



No matter how many missteps I've made or how may obstacles I've encountered to hinder my progress I have not been shaken from it and continue to stand by it.

So 2017 Don't mess with me. I am the warrior that will defeat you! I wear no armour in the back only the front There is no retreat! No surrender!

I've had a very relaxed yet already busy new year's day!
Trouble to start with though. My Sciatica dared decide to say a very bold hello this morning with a pain so severe that I thought it was going to cripple me for the day! Not happening! I took control, told it to fly a kite, drank a double portion of my Turmeric did some stretching exercises specifically for that and kept right on going.
So now the shooting pain is all but gone but it aches I can handle that but staying active will no doubt eliminate it altogether before the day is over.

Now I've had my Steel Cut Oats with my nuts and seeds and an apple and now I'm in the middle of really starting my day. Have bread on the rise, and the bit of tidying up to do.

I've also resolved to do more exercises and drink more water starting today.
So there are two of my goals to start off with.



There it is a jug combination of lemon, apple cider vinegar and parsley tea and first glass poured. I resolve to drink at least four of those today and each day.

If you look closer at the picture you'll see a roller tucked in the back. That is what I'm using for my toning and stretching three times a day 15 reps each time. Have the first set done!

It's been a somewhat busy morning already.

The holiday season is always more so a battle than any other time of the year.
In getting through the holiday season I want you all to know that all we can do is our best. I don't expect everyone to stay on their program. It's Christmas. It's a time of family gatherings with meals specially prepared, sharing the memories and exchanging gifts. Allow yourselves to partake in the festivities, and the holiday preparations. They've worked hard and put a lot of love and time into them. But be reasonable You CAN stay in control of that sabateur. But if you do misstep, over indulge. Do NOT beat yourself up over it. Do NOT dwell on it. Do NOT let it eat you up. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off,. Wipe the slate clean of your missteps, continue moving forward and start fresh.

That's where I kind of luck out because our family is so widely spread across the provinces there's no family gatherings or outings and work while at work no body really brings in the goodies in abundance. We have the staff gathering out at the bosses in the new year.
At home here I'll make Walt's favourite meal and because there is only the two of us there isn't a whole lot of left overs; meal or desserts, so no overindulgence. It's portion control.

I have now been making serious changes to ensure my senior years turn out radically different than my mothers.
I've now ordered my B Complex and Omega-3s and yesterday I picked up my Krill (Alaskan Salmon)1000mg per pill.

This morning I had my 1/2c Steele Cut Oats with my walnuts, pumpkin and sunflower seeds and almond milk. a med Gala Apple for my fruit portion.

I picked up everything I'll need to make my salad for the day; romaine lettuce spinach kale mix, mini cucumbers, red onions and Tim tomatoes.

Supper I have a cup of mixed vegetables steamed 2 cups of salad and my 4-6 oz of roast chicken

'Tis the holiday season with all its joy, excitement and, of course, food, food, and more food of every type. So for many who want to eat healthy it can be a hard time. There are parties, family celebrations, restaurant meals and desserts galore. It's no surprise you may wonder, how can I get through the holidays without my calorie-laden old favorites?

You can and you will if you have support and a solid plan. And the good news you will still enjoy the holidays and especially the day after. Equating the holiday celebrations with food, we tend to think about baking sugary fattening pies and cookies, candy canes on the tree, stuffing the turkey, etc. Perhaps you have some cheery memories tied to those sugar-laden foods. However, you probably have also seen the flip side of what sugar and super calorie foods can do and it's not pretty!

What if, this year, after New Year's Day you have NOT gained five or more pounds or feel sick after indulging in unhealthy foods? Imagine feeling proud of yourself after the holidays
nstead of guilty and sad. Yes, you can accomplish this! Here are important tips to guide you through the happy days of the holidays without added pounds:

Well I think I just may have broken this stubborn non-weight loss Streak. I've dropped 2 1/2 pounds since Monday!

Sitting here ready for work, all morning chores are done and got to thinking if it helps I can give everyone the types of meals I eat just a guideline for folks to try if they are having difficulties with food choices.
So breakfast this morning was; steele cut oats, blueberries, seeds and nuts and unsweetened almond milk. Very, very filling and holds me till Lunch! I also have 1 cup of coffee with bone broth/turmeric and collagen.

I've been really struggling lately. It seems no matter what I try I just can't seem to make the scales budge. I'm not gaining but I'm not losing either. So I've continuously been making changes to the weight loss lifestyle for myself. I'm incorporating some of the Bright Line eating by removing 100% of all sugars as well as any flours from my diet.
I also found out some news that I found to be rather enlightening. I don't know maybe some of you have heard this but a light bulb went on for me.

Middle age.
One of the reasons it's more difficult for us in our 40 and over to lose is because we figure because we are having such a difficult time losing we need to naturally cut calories right. Not so just the opposite!
Cutting calories means not only completely cutting out those foods that are harmful and have no value, you know, the ones we eat only because they taste good but also typically cutting back on certain foods from our diets that are necessary for breaking down fat cells!
Hence we stop losing weight and gain that middle age spread.
So I'm doing some reassessing of my diet and looking at Eat To Live and Bright Line coupled together.

This journey has enough curve balls, No one should have to go it alone. Every one of us needs support and encouragement through both the ups and downs we will encounter along the way in reaching that ultimate goal.

We'll have struggles, get discouraged, frustrated and want to say FORGET THIS and threw in the towel.
That's when we absolutely need to check in and let us know what you're going through. Myself included.

We've got to Push through! Our life's health depends on it. So talk, talk, talk. I can't emphasize that enough!

What has been your challenge today? Your struggle, your roadblock.
