The way to lose that weight is to talk about it. I find if you talk to someone about that lb you put on you do not want to talk about the second one. Once you lose that weight you do not want to put it back on. It is hard because if you are under stress you will eat, if you are bored you will eat. You need to keep yourself busy all the time. Try to stay away from the kitchen where the food is. I find it hard trying to find something to eat at night as I eat my big meal in the afternoon. Sometimes, I do not want to eat anything at supper, and other times I am hungry. It is a struggle, that is why it is a good idea to come on and talk about it. Others can help you keep on track.

Deserts are off the menu now. Time to get back to work on losing anything I gained. Had salmon cakes today and tomorrow. Monday having flounder and maybe salmon Tues. Weight Watchers, which I was on a long time ago used to say eat fish 5 days a week and lose. So we will see. That is provide you do not eat stuff you shouldn't with it. LOL

Yes, I am a lousy speller and getting worst in my old age. I tried the spell check but it did not pick it up. Yesterday, I bought one in the store that came from Fla. I never had that one before. It is bigger than the other one I had. I have it in the window to soften. I put it in a salad too, sometimes.

I use a lot of canned or frozen stuff. I never cooked fresh beets before. It gets messy with the red. Tomorrow, I am going to do a stir fry. Mushrooms, onion, broccoli, pasta, chicken and fat free chicken gravy. I put some cheese on top when done.

Yesterday, was tips because I promised my gs he could make them again. He said he enjoys cooking with me. Probably because I clean up and he doesn't have to. LOL
He is doing good. He can make pizza from the frozen dough, bread sticks from frozen dough,
cookies, hamburgers, tips, salad, so far. He starts school the 8th and next week I am tied up with doctors and my 54 anniv on the 2nd, so won't be able to see him as he is tied up Mon and Fri, then he starts school. Sat I have the kids party across the street.

I might try to make beets at home one of these days. I've never done anything with them before, just had at like salad bars and such.

Camey, do you mean "avocado"? It's green and used to make guacamole and is delicious on its own as well. I had half of one with dinner tonight, slow cooked chicken breast, brussel sprouts and corn. mmm

Today, we had tips and only 4 each. I had a small amt of string beans and beats and avacardo. Not sure of the spelling. Tomorrow will make chicken palm. We will have two each on the chicken tenders, in fact, I might have one and half.

When I know we are having a pot luck at work, or I am eating out some where I will make sure to not eat a lot for breakfast, lunch and snacks so I have wiggle room. I will have oatmeal for breakfast and a salad for lunch, maybe some yogurt or fruit for a snack. That seems to help me a lot.

It can take a little time. I have wanted to start tracking in advance, thus planning my food in advance but it's rather challenging. I still end up trying to figure out what to eat each day. Nice idea, planning, but not easy to execute at least in the beginning.

Good to be mindful. I just wondered because it's hard when you have no idea what they are gong to want for dinner, but maybe you could work your general morning calories so you have a little more wiggle room for the last meal. Most things you should be able to have even if it's a small portion.

I had part of a bag of chips last night, new york reuben flavored, but I didn't eat the whole bag cause it has 3 servings in it. I do that with candy too now. I don't worry at all about eating candy several days a week because I eat just a serving and make sure it fits within my calorie goals for the day. For me, that's why I like tracking because then I can get the stuff I need (protein and such) but also have the things I enjoy and still lose weight.

I hope you figure things out and don't let it add more stress, you have enough of that already.

I guess we all have ways of trying to keep our weight under control and then there are times we slip. I thought I was doing so good at the cook out and here I led into temptation when the cake came. Now, I have a neighbor's 3 year old party and they have it catered and lots of food, so need to get this .8 off in case I lose control again with birthday cake. I thought I was over sweets and mostly am as don't buy them or really bake them. But sometimes, we just lose it when we see it staring at us and everyone enjoying it and we can't so we give in to it.

I use to count my calories and log my exercise and all of that when I first started and found it really helpful. I have been on this journey for a while now and some times I got busy and didn't bother to log it in here, but I always kept a log on paper. Since starting this new career this yr I got too busy to keep up with logging info in on SP all the time, but I still keep my paper log of my food. Some times I log my exercise and some times I do it but don't log it any where, and don't even always where my watch that could track it. But I am a lot more aware of what and how much I eat now, and try to choose healthier choices most of the time if posible. Dinner time, I don't always get to choose what is bought for me to eat, and I just eat what the family is eating or I fend for myself if I don't like my choice. Like I skip the hot wings or BBQ ribs most of the time that the guys are eating them. And sometimes I won't have fries, or will only have a small amount of them.

Thanks. It is his house, not mind or ours. He doe a lot for me and has kept a roof over my head and food in the house for most of the time we have been together. Since shortly after we met again about 6 yrs ago he has been paying for most of the food for us. For around 3 yrs now he has been paying almost everything for all of us. He has helped me out a lot this year with me trying to start a new career by just giving me several hundred dollars a couple of times just to help me with paying my credit card bill or what ever I needed, and even bought me a lap top computer, even thought he has a lot of stuff to deal with on his own. And his own job is kind of rocky right now too. There are a lot of good times. But some bumps too. I think part of it is from his rocky childhood, and from his past relationships, and his maybe just feeling trapped too, and maybe scared he could be out of a job soon himself. He has a job where he is on call 24/7, and an ex that is on business trip probably as much or more than she is home. And the son really doesn't like to be in school, or after school programs, the boy's club, or the "Y", or that type of stuff. So it makes it harder to keep the kid happy, keep all our jobs happy with us, etc. He is never physically or verbally abusive to me. He just gets moody some times. And I am sure I am not always a peach to be around either, lol.

If I had to put up with your boyfriend I would lose him. I would find a job and take care of myself. I know you are in a bad place and probably have to depend on him to survive. I could not live with a man like that. Seems all he cares about is himself, not you. If he wants his boy over he should spend time with him not you. If I were in your case, I would find a full time job, and tell him you were leaving or if it is your apartment tell him to leave. But I know you probably can not do this. He is going to end up hurting you in the end. We are going on 54 years in Sept. It is a lot of give and take but seems all your boyfriend does is take. I only wish you could find an avenue away from him somehow and find a guy who will respect you.

emoticon Stress doesn't help, that's for sure.

Just out of curiosity, are you tracking calories per day? Just wondered cause I know some do and others don't. And some don't understand that their needs aren't going to be the same as other people (like some guys who don't understand how the short female doesn't eat near as much as they do).

Also, don't forget that if you weigh daily or very often some of the gains aren't actual gains. Salt, water, and hormones affect our weight, which fluctuates on a regular basis.

Make sure to take care of you, though it can be challenging at times when also working around someone else's needs and schedule. We're here for venting purposes too.

It seems like a power game to him. He knows I want to eat earlier. I have told him it is easier for me to stick to good eating habits to lose the weight if I eat earlier, he doesn't care. He knows I feel hungry a lot and he doesn't. He hardly eats until dinner time, or he just snacks on junk during the day and eats big meals or more junk at night a lot when the boy isn't here. If I ask him, he will usually say that he is going to get or make something later in the evening that he isn't hungry. And a lot of times what he is planning on getting or making isn't healthy for me. So I do go fix myself something else. And some times when I get myself a snack to hold me over or just make myself something instead of waiting for him he gets upset about it, and then other times he just tells me to fend for myself. And a lot of times I ask him and he just says he doesn't know when or what we are having, that he had not thought about it as he was busy playing on his computer and wasn't hungry. He is just moody, some times he is acting out at me about what ever, and other times he really is just wrapped up in his computer games and just loses track of the time and isn't hungry. He loads himself up with coffee, soda, energy drinks and tea all day and does not eat at until evening time most of the week, even when he is at work that is supposedly what he does from what he has said. Then other times if I had fended for myself because I didn't want to wait until late at night to eat or eat what he made, then he gets mad and decides for the next night or two he might just make stuff early but just for himself or for him and the kid if the boy is there, or he might decide to say they are going to run errands and they eat while they are out and don't bring me anything back. It's a resentment thing to me for him paying most of the bills. He wants me to start helping with the bills more again, but at the same time he wants me to be on call 24/7 for him to watch his kid and the dogs. So that makes it hard for me to find a job where I can be home with the kid on a moments notice, and still keep the job and make money. He has me caught in a catch 22. If I go to work and I am gone a lot so I can't watch the boy and let the dogs in and out of the house he is mad, and if I don't go to work there is no money to cover my bills and buy the food I should be eating instead of junk/fast food. And what I am doing now is all on commission, so until it gets going good it can be hard. So I am trying to find another at least part time job. But that is probably going to cause more tension too. But I need the money to keep paying my bills. It is just really complicated.

What you need to do is feed yourself and not wait for him. You can always save what he makes, if he makes it, and reheat in microwave next day. Maybe if you do not wait for him he might start to cook earlier or go get something. He might take the hint. Why can't you ask him if he is going to cook or get something?

I usually have oatmeal, fruit and yogurt for breakfast. Lunch is usually a salad. But some times especially on the weekend if the boyfriend decided to cook some thing for us for lunch then I might just eat what he made and skip dinner, or if I know he is making something I would rather have for dinner then I might skip what he made at lunch. But I never know when or what he will cook. Some times our dinner is like 4-5 pm and other times it could be closer to bed time which I don't like. I hate it when he waits until 8pm or later to decide if he is going to cook or go get something for us. So some times I will just decide to make myself a sandwich or something instead of waiting to see if he is going to get us something or make something. If his son is with us we usually eat earlier. But if his son is not going to be with us he might decide not to make or go get anything, and doesn't always tell me that he isn't going to do it. So I sit there waiting and waiting for something that's not happening, or I just get hungry and tired of waiting and just get up and get myself something.

I notice when I eat a small plate instead of a larger one I tend to lose. If it wasn't for having to cook for dh, who is always hungry and wants to eat at noon, I would eat my breakfast at 9:30, which I do a lot of times and then eat at 2pm and just have a banana for supper. But it is hard to cook a warm meal and let it stay till 2 for me, so I just eat a little.

I have to have my butterscotch morsels over my breakfast. It makes it tasty with the nuts.
Today, I will make the ham with bake beans as we have a funeral mass to go to. A neighbor died. Tomorrow, stir fry.

If you can keep busy it helps. Lose time on your hands always leads to eating the wrong thing. It is hard sometimes to keep your mind off something you are craving and replacing it with something else doesn't always help. Sometimes, being stressed at work can cause you to eat or trying to get something done that is giving you a problem. A lot of times the food we eat is not to our liking after the food we enjoyed that we can not eat anymore if we want to keep trim. It is a struggle we have to make to keep healthy if we want a long life.

We keep going back and forth from hot and muggy to raining, but even with the rain a lot of them times it is still muggy or it goes from cooler and windy back to muggy fast.

I find when I can get my boyfriend to keep lots of different fruits, veggies and salads in the house I do better. But when I run out of healthy snacks, I have a bad habit of getting into the guys chips, crackers and other junk. Especially if I am stressing about some thing, then I am more likely to hit the junk food. I am trying to do better at distracting myself with walking, drinking water, cleaning or what ever instead of hitting the chips.

Sometimes, I think you have to omit a lot of stuff you once ate to really lose. Then it has to be real small meals. Snacks have to be fruit, nuts, or water. It is a hard journey to follow and that is why so many fall down and can't make the finish line. We struggle through it and then we had enough when we see the scale not moving or not moving fast enough. Buddy system helps but even then we fall down. We feel it is not worth it anymore and we get depressed and eat. Is there no end to it? Will we ever make the weight we want? How can we do it? What are your ideas?

When we were younger we had a lot of time but as you age time gets short and all the stuff you want to do takes time, which you find hard to locate in your day.

I do a lot of quick meals and now and then meatloaf, chicken or fish.

How is the weather there? We have 3 days of 90 so heat wave here and ac bill will go through the roof.

I remembered now it was called Swiss Steak, but I have never found a recipe like the one we had. You would pound the meat with a mallet and then cut it up into smaller pieces, it got dipped into flour and spices and other stuff and browned in one pan. You would grate a bunch of carrots; slice up lots of different colored bell peppers; crush garlic cloves; cut up onions; cut up tomatoes; cut up celery and add a bunch of other stuff and simmer that in another pan. And then later the meat got added to the sauce. I think it all simmered for a long time after that too, so it took at least 1.5 to a couple of hours to cook and lots of prep time too. And then you could serve it with wide noodles. Or serve it beside or on top of mashed potatoes, or with rice. That recipe came from a gentle man that use to work with my dad long ago.

Most of the stuff I learned to make where past down in the family, and the sauces where made from scratch, so it took a long time to cook. We would make big batches of the stuff and freeze a lot of it in small containers for future meals. Or serve them when we had a lot of people at the house.

I think if I was going to try to make that type of stuff now that I would look for new recipes that could be made in the crock pot so that it did most of the work.

I still do some hand sewing and darning, but not so much any more. Just takes a lot of time. But I still have to hem up almost any pair of pants that I get. End up sewing on lots of buttons that fall off as they just don't put them on securely like before. And I have altered lots of skirts in the past to make them shorter, or fit tighter.

The only think I was thinking of was Pot Roast. I know when I do it I have to put oil in the pan and brown the meat on both sides then over it and put a little water in and cook for 3 hours.
I always did my veggies in a separate pan and then put them in, or just put them on the side of the dish once I took the meat out. Those dishes that take 3 hours or more, like cooking tomato sauce are delicious but you have to stay in the kitchen and today women do not.
I used to make my tomato sauce with oil, garlic, onion, and then add the paste and tomato with two cans of water and simmer for two to three hours and it became think but it was oh so good. Now dh says it is easier to just buy it in the jars, instead of all that work. But it might taste ok but nothing like home cooking, for sure.

Same for sewing, used to darn socks, but not anymore. I am lucky if I can put up slacks because I shrunk two inches, which happens as you age. My thumbs ache with arthritis and wrists so I only try it on good days.

My boyfriend does a lot of stir fry for us with some frozen chicken, or turkey burger, or turkey sausage, or stuff like that added to it. He likes to grill the most. But he will also do baked foods once in a while. He will use boxed mixes like Zataran's and such once in a while too. He likes BBQ chicken and ribs too, some times he does it by scratch and other times he buys frozen packs of it, or already prepared from different places. I got him a crock pot for Christmas as that is what he wanted, and he has been making all kinds of roasts and such in it.

I think most of the stuff my mom taught me to cook that she and my dad really liked took at least 3 hrs cooking. There was one dish, I forgot what it was called that took a long time for prep and cooking, so we hardly ever had it. You had to pound out the meat, mix up stuff to bread the meat. Grate lots of carrots and other stuff. Brown the meat in one pan. Simmer carrots and lots of other stuff in another pan, and then add in the meat and simmer that with out letting the carrot sauce or the meat burn. It tasted great, but no one really liked putting all the time in to the prep and cooking it and keeping an eye on it. I use to help her make that one when I was small. But later she some how lost the recipe and so I never made it myself. A lot of it reminded me of cooking a big Thanksgiving meal, you would prep some stuff the night before, and or get up in the morning and start working on prep. Cook for hrs and hrs, and then in a few mins every one is done eating. And then you have ton's of dishes and a stove top or oven to clean up.
Now he cooks and I clean.

I can see why you don't want to cook all that stuff as it takes hours. Once in a while I cook a roast on top of the stove, and add veggies later, but that takes 3 hours, so not something I do often. Then eggplant, altho love it, takes time to cut it, bread it, fry it and bake it, so that is not done often too. I do a lot of stir fries on top of the stove or meatloaf, chicken or fish in the oven. Today doing a stir fry.

I track my weight on my profile almost daily. I some times post the ups and downs and or weight on a thread in the group I lead. But I usually don't keep up with all the threads in all the groups I am in any more. I found I was just spending too much time Online instead of exercising or trying to run this new business.

I can cook and use to cook. I pretty much stopped when I moved in with my boyfriend as he and his son perfer his cooking, and I never was into cooking myself any ways. It is more just like a chore to me, then fun. I will do a lot of stuff for myself with fresh or frozen veggies and such in the microwave. As that is fast and easy to do. Some times I will do something on the stove top too, especially when he is not going to be home to cook.

My mom taught me to make my own spaghetti sauce that you simmer for hrs to make, my own Chili that simmers for hrs to make, my own ham and beans that simmers for hrs, my own roast beef and veggies and other stuff. I just haven't made them since just before moving to Escondido about 5 yrs ago.

I like to take fresh squash, zuchinni and other veggies and cook them up in the oven or on the stove top, or in the microwave. I ate more veggies than anything before moving here.

You should list your weight on the Benefits of weight lost like Cyndie, Elf and I do. I lost .2 today too.

We went to a Chinese buffet with the granddaughter and we got sick. So we are not going there again. Dh threw and Alexis and I just felt sick to our stomach.

How come you don't know how to cook? If you like veggies make a stir fry. Or a pizza sandwich with cheese, butter on bread and oregano and tomato. There is always hamburgers in the grill or a fry pan. TV dinners too.

Thanks Camey, the boyfriend and I went out to dinner by ourselves last night, a rare thing. He took me to a Chinese/Japanese restaurant that he found with his son about a month ago when I was at a night time work meeting. He told me that their dinners were big enough that we could share on, but I wanted to try their Chicken Chow Mein as I hadn't had any of it for probably 15 yrs, but he didn't want it, and I didn't want what he wanted. So I just ate half of my meal last night and brought the other half home for dinner tonight or another night. As He is leaving for Canada tonight any ways and so he won't be home to cook for me for almost 2 wks. He ate almost all of his meal and gave what little he had left to the dogs last night as a treat. From the pictures and description of the two meals I thought that they would really be different. But really they looked a lot a like except his veggies and chicken were sitting in a big fried noodle basket on the plate. And my veggies and chicken were just on my plate and I had a small bowl of white rice with mine. I wanted the white rice with my meal. And I knew from past that I don't really care for the thin hard fried noodles like he had or the thick pasta like low mein noodles. So I am glad I got what I ordered, even though the rest of the meals looked a lot a like. And I am glad I decided to save half my meal. I ordered a coconut drink for the first time too. And once I drank it, they chopped the coconut in half for me and wrapped it up for me to take home so I can get the coconut meat out of it today or later too. And luckily I was still down 0.2 lbs today.

It is awful hard with temptation when you see foods you don't buy but like. I have that problem when there are kids parties, anniversaries, weddings, etc. But so far I am doing ok.
I find I can not eat a big lunch anymore as we have ours in the afternoon. Yesterday, we went out to eat and I had two pieces of haddock, sweet potato fries, carrots, bailey soup, a bun and butter and I could not eat any supper at night I was so full. The place gives you a lot for your money and the fish was so good I just had to finish it. Then the fries tasted good, well you know the story. But because I did not have supper at night, I only gained a .l so not bad. Today, going to watch it as do not want it to go up.

Glad you are getting into the pattern of your work schedule and like it. At least, you have something you like to do now.

Once a month they invite the "spouses/significant others/partners" and kids if need be too to come to a pot luck so that they can see what happens at work and can learn about the company so that they can support their partner and maybe even decide to join the company themselves. And we invite other relatives and friends to come and learn about the company too, so that they might join the company and/or become clients. Some times they through quarterly parties or training events too. They also have lots of training events and conventions out of town for us to go to several times a year too. And then the different insurance companies will take us out to eat and show us about their new products and or introduce us to their new reps in are area. And then we take client out a lot too. So food just plays a big part in it. And yes, I was having a hard time at first seeing all the interesting different foods that I don't usually get at home and wanting to try a little of most of it. We have some really good cooks at both offices and then a lot of them buy really interesting stuff to bring too. But I am getting better at making better choices and limiting what I am eating now.

I can understand that about your eating schedule. I used to have to take clients to breakfast and I had already eaten before going to work, so I just had coffee and a small Danish or something low in calories, if there is anything in pastry like that. LOL

When I went to meetings, I had lunch in the afternoon and at night I just would have some toast or thin bagel and banana. I was always leaving work at 5, so I had no problem there.

Do you always keep late hours in work? And why do they have to have pot lunch? You know that alone has a lot of calories because everyone brings something and you just want to taste it. You have to learn control when that happens. I know because when they have a buffet party it drives me nuts I can not have all the stuff I want.

Thanks Camey, I think mine now is mostly from my always changing schedule and lots of meetings where food is involved. Tuesdays and Wednesdays I usually leave home around 5 pm and go to work meetings so I am not home to have dinner with the family. So those nights I end up skipping dinner or eating late right before going to bed which I don't like doing so I usually won't. Then the first Tuesday and Wednesday of each month I am usually eating at a pot luck at work. And then there are several times during the weeks/month that I am going out to breakfast, lunch or dinner related to work too. So that thoughs off my usual eating pattern. But I think I am getting better at it.

I have a breakfast meeting tomorrow morning, and I think they are having a pot luck at work tommorrow as only I and one other person remembered to bring something like we were suppose to last week. But then they may just skip it this month?

Same here, seems like I don't eat anything out of the way and yet I can gain a point l or 3 and then it is gone and I lose a lb. Crazy. Today making fish as somehow fish seems to make you lose. I remember Diet Workshop, I once went to said to eat fish 5 times a week to lose. Glad to see you keep in touch.

I think I have been back and forth for some time now. Lose 1-2 lbs and the gain 1-2 lbs and back and forth. But it is averaging out to maintaining which I am okay with right now as I am so busy and so much is going on.

Ya, I know how imposable losing is. I was down .9 and went to cook out and put it back, plus a little more. I know what it was two helpings of potato salad, a starch. Two helpings of salad was ok, but two helpings of devil eggs probably did some damage, and then the sweets, two cookies and some strawberry shortcake. Only had two small strips of beef. So when you know what does it you should watch it, but when with a crowd and talking you somehow forget and just eat. Oh well, today is egg beaters and broccoli, mushrooms, and onion, so no worry there and maybe tomorrow a stir fry. Will get it off by watching the next few days.

I wish I had some secrets to weight loss. emoticon

This time losing weight has been much tougher. In the past, after 7 weeks of watching my food and working out, I would have been much smaller.

I know that age is slowing me down. I won't let it stop me, though. I want to be as healthy as I can for as long as I can.

My eating has been within range most days for the last six weeks with the big exception of yesterday. emoticon I probably had enough calories yesterday for two days.

I'm not upset or worried about the extra eating yesterday, though. As a matter of fact I expect it to balance out since I've had a few days that I was on the very low side of my calorie range and a couple that were unintentionally under range.

I've got to schedule my next appointments for lab work and dr visit. I'd like to get just a little more fit and get my iron levels higher before I go. I working-out pretty consistently and my food intake is more selective.

HOPE: Holding On, Praying Earnestly...from Guidepost Magazine

I'm working my way back to the size I want to be.
On a journey for strength and good health.

--Kimberly

Happy Fourth Everyone!
Just checking in ...I do oatmeal in the morning sometimes with blueberries, then salad for lunch, and lean meat (3 oz.) and veggies for dinner. If I really feel hungry at night I may have a snack of Weight Watchers English Toffee Crunch. I do a bit more variety than that, but it is the framework and seems to be helping. I think I just need to MOVE More! Aye, there's the rub!

Hope you all have a great day!

I try to always have oatmeal for breakfast and maybe some fruit and yogurt too. Lunch is usually a salad, but sometimes I get burned out on them and might have a sandwich or something else instead. Dinner is usually what ever the boyfriend makes or picks up on his way home from work. When I am hungry and I want a snack, it is usually some type of fruit, veggie, granola, or some thing like that. I drink a lot of water and tea.

Having a problem loosing? Seems we all have those days. My secret is having my breakfast in the morning, then my big lunch in the afternoon. When 5 pm rolls around I just have a thin bagel or nutty buddy and I am satisfied because still full from the afternoon meal, which I can work off before bedtime. Baking cookies and putting them in the freezer helps so you can have one or two if you need a snack and can not do without it. Not everyone likes to snack on celery, or carrots. I rather a small piece of chocolate or a cookie.

What is your secret to losing weight?

We've all wanted needed to lose weight for a very long time and we must admit we've never before had a better shot at it than now.
Our journey to better ourselves, to make ourselves healthier has taken us down many a misguided, misdirected passage way with this program and that program promising that magic bullet to immediate results to that finish line we've all desperately desired.

What I've shared with you today is what I've come through in the past two years. Believe me it is no magic bullet, no metabolic miracle.
What I have shared is the real deal, to obtain incredible health and weightloss takes change and commitment to that change.
This was and remains my concrete plan of action, in place for living a healthier richer and fuller life. The more you commit as you go forward the more success you will get out of it.
If you ever find yourself slipping backwards into that former life take back the command by reinforcing these lifestyle changes.
Reaching your get real weight and healthier lifestyle should be a one way trip. I believe what works in your life works because you make it work. Success lies in the choices we make, the right thinking the right attitude the enactment of following through to generate the desired results. It is you who must create the life you want. The choice is yours to make.

What matters most now is that you continue to build this life for yourself. A life that with each passing day brings health energy, confidence, peace of mind that can not be disrupted.
If you can do this and I truly believe you can- you will at long last have what you want because you made the choices, you accomplished what you required. You reached for the very best of YOU.

Here's to you!

TODAY Is MY tomorrow. It's up to ME to shape it, To TAKE CONTROL and seize EVERY opportunity. The POWER is in the choices I make EVERY day. I eat well, I live well I SHAPE ME!

THE EMPOWERED LIFE. EXPECT IT . BELIEVE IT. RECEIVE IT.
The human will is the most incredible thing. It's what keeps us going when everyone else expects us to quit.

THIS MEANS WAR AGAINST FAT:
I'm too positive to be doubtful, too optimistic to be fearful, and too determined to be defeated.

Your Circle Of Support

Weightloss is not a DIY; do it yourself deal. OK so we have our expectations for weight loss set. But to achieve this hero's journey there is one last gateway we must have in place. Support. Support from people with whom we can have trust. This is definitely key. We must build and nurture relationships that affirm and uplift with energies that flow through us like a current energizing in us the results we want and need to achieve.
There is strength and power in support.
This key unlocks the gateway to Social Control. This is the ability to nurture relationships built on trust, acceptance, and encouragement.
It is a fact that when people attempt to change their lifestyle or behaviours, including diet and exercise the success rates are far higher over the long haul when they have genuine positive support form family, friends, co-workers or even those in the professional field; their physician, nutritionist, therapists ministers or support groups.

Without question our relationships have a powerful impact on our weight, our health, our very well-being.Therefore, we really do need to be taking into account the people in our lives and whether they are supportive or whether they are out and out saboteurs.
With this key we will take that step through that gateway and take actions necessary to break free of entanglements not in our best interest and instead nurture a network of people who will support you in a meaningful, purposeful, and a more constructive manner.

TODAY Is MY tomorrow. It's up to ME to shape it, To TAKE CONTROL and seize EVERY opportunity. The POWER is in the choices I make EVERY day. I eat well, I live well I SHAPE ME!

THE EMPOWERED LIFE. EXPECT IT . BELIEVE IT. RECEIVE IT.

Intentional Exercise

Physical activity is one of the power tools in fat fighting. It is just too powerful not to include it in your hero's journey; not to have it on your side!

Regular exercise even 30 minutes of some form of cardio; walking, cycling, whatever movement you are capable as part of your day is a big deal. It unlocks this gateway to Body Control. This is the state of fitness in which our bodies are metabolically geared to losing weight and keeping it off, flowing with energy and vitality.
Not to include that daily activity, that extra 30 minutes above and beyond your normal daily routine, you're cheating yourself not only out of losing those unhealthy pounds, but also a way of sustaining a normal weight and staying healthy for the duration of your life.
This key must be approached with utmost commitment, and direction you can muster.
Your mission is to over come the inertia you now have replacing it with that forward momentum toward incredible health and weightloss that will last a life time.

TODAY Is MY tomorrow. It's up to ME to shape it, To TAKE CONTROL and seize EVERY opportunity. The POWER is in the choices I make EVERY day. I eat well, I live well I SHAPE ME!

We all know that if we take in more food than we burn off the inevitable outcome is unhealthy, unsightly weight gain.Yet we continue to choose the wrong foods in too large quantities because number one it tastes so darn good. We all do it. We put taste and convenience before right thinking. So with unlocking this next gateway we learn high-response, high yield nutrition unlocking the door to food and portion control.
There is no counting calories, no measuring, no memorizing exhaustive lists of foods we should or should not eat or exchanges.
As we will find out there are only two things we need to know about food--two and only two!

To achieve this important key the most important from the onset of walking through this gateway is this: Food has a behavioral effect. In short certain foods keep bad habits alive.
Example fast foods. Most we can polish off in record time before our satiety signals kick in. Before we realize it we've eaten in access! It's foods like these that produce a counterproductive behaviour; mindless, uncontrolled overeating.

So to bring this behavioral portion of the hero's journey into prospective we need to sharpen our focus. To do this it helps to think of our food choices as either High-response cost foods or Low response cost foods.

1. High Response Cost Foods: those that require a great deal of labour and effort to prepare and eat.
The preparation output to ingest these foods is high and the calorie payoff is low--and healthy.
IE: raw vegetables such as broccoli It is raw and course and takes a lot of chewing and grinding to get it down. Likewise with fresh fruits such as apples, pears, peaches, nectarines and pomegranates beans and legumes, whole grains are all examples of high response cost foods.
To sum it up High response cost foods take considerable time and effort to prepare. They are not "convenience foods" in any sense of the word. They can not be eaten quickly because they require a great deal of chewing and ingestion energy.

2. Low Response Cost Foods

In contrast low response cost foods are easily ingested, overly convenient and require little or no preparation. These are your fast foods; restaurant and drive thru foods; hamburgers fries hot dogs tacos pizza, junk foods; potato chips pretzels, cheezies, butter salted popcorn, cookies brownies tarts all refined, processed foods. In short anything you can just grab and eat on the run and wolf down. These foods bully you into fast uncontrolled mindless over eating and have a negative effect on our eating behaviours. Suffice to say you should avoid eating low response cost foods or at the very least keep them to a minimal of 10% of your diet.

Dr. Fuhrman's THE 3 STEPS TO INCREDIBLE HEALTH & WEIGHTLOSS offers a healthy, effective and scientifically proven plan for shedding radical amounts of weight quickly and keeping it off. Losing weight under Dr. Fuhrman's plan is not about willpower. It is about knowledge.

Are you stubbornly overeating, binging, continuing that repetitive pattern that you know within your consciousness only leads to self destruction?
Discovering why you do this is not only worth this part of the hero's journey, it is essential to achieving incredible health and permanent weight loss control.
So now the next gateway unlocks Habit Control.
First you will learn to identify why you persist in these bad habits and second you will learn how to replace them with actions that will weaken their hold over you.
At some rational level of consciousness you know that these habits are counter productive and completely unhealthy. Yet on another level you believe they are rewarding enough for you to keep repeating these behaviours. In your physiological thinking they work for you in some way.
You are feeding some sort of need or needs. As long as those needs are there you will keep feeding them. So here you will look at the specific ways this is hindering your weightloss control-the ways you interact with food that are in direct opposition to healthier behaviour.
What's more you will find out how to manage your eating so that you are no longer controlled by impulses and urges.
When - and only when - you master this key will control over your eating behaviour dramatically increase.

Gateway # 3 The No-Fail Environment

This third key will unlock the passageway to your External Control giving you the ability to shape, design, and manage your both your personal; home, and professional; work environments, making it virtually impossible for you to fail with weight control. This part of your hero's journey is the cleansing. Here you will concentrate on elimination. You will be burning bridges; minimizing opportunities that invite needless snacking overeating and binding including ridding your closet of those plus-sized clothes. You are doing away with all the reminders that lessen your resolve, and could, if you let them return to your former lifestyle, IF you expect to succeed there is no regression, no retreat. With this key you are re-engineering your environment for success.
With this key you will begin to do different things and when you begin to do different things you will look at things differently, feel differently. You will gain positive momentum that will cause your change to be different; more energized, more focused mentally!

Gateway # 2 Healing Feelings

It's no big news that many people eat as a way to medicate. Usually it's in response to a negative emotion, anger, guilt, loneliness, stress or boredom. On the other end of the scale many people also use food in response to positive emotions. It may be happiness and jubilation in celebration of something. Needless to say either way, they've developed a strong emotional attachment to food.
What do you eat in response to?

So now out next gateway is gaining Emotional Control. Learning how to break the cycle of over eating in response to emotions and stress.
It is unfortunate that we can't eliminate triggers to emotions and stress. They are simply a fact of life. However, we most certainly can learn how to heal counterproductive response and gain a new sense of control.
I must stress that glossing over this gateway; denying that you have emotional issues with food is a deal breaker. You will never reduce your weight or become that healthier you until you gain complete control even stop emotional eating.
This gateway helps you identify why you pursue emotional eating, to unlock a newfound control over your eating behaviour.

The First Step: The Choice to Right Thinking

If we are ever to get started on the right path to change, there is one very important precondition we have to meet. We must rid ourselves of that gnawing overpowering sense of urgency and panic every time you decide to lose weight for health's sake.
You know that feeling; that nagging "I have to be thinner by summer or some up coming future event." This is only a relentless tormenting making us want to give up before we even start!

If there's anything I've learned is that we don't have to do this. We don't have to do anything of the sort!
We of course always have a choice; to obsess about our weight....or not. We can choose to worry about our weight....or not. We can choose to panic about our weight....or NOT! Because when we choose our behaviour, we choose our consequences that flow from those choices. We must start choosing differently, right here right now.
In doing so what you are about to do is to achieve your get-real weight. In doing so this will be your hero's journey unlike any you have ever undertaken.

I am going to share with you the critical steps, keys I was given that realigned and changed my life internally and externally in a way that will create, achieve, and maintain lasting weightloss.

Right now your starting line is what seems an uphill battle. A long passage way with a series of locked gateways, gateways that have been barriers, road blocks one after the other to your individual finish line.
Each step, key that I share here gives you the power enabling you to unlock each of those gateways and stepping through them leading you closer to personal control over your health and weightloss.
Obviously the choice is up to you to unlock each gateway and step through it with commitment to change and to keep moving forward until you've walked through them all.

Moving through that first gateway will be the start of a challenging journey for you. One that you have probably never undertaken because it means letting go of long standing powerful forces that have been in control of your life.

THAT FIRST STEP IS PERSONAL TRUTH; whatever it is about yourself and your weight issues that you have come to believe.
This personal truth as it relates to your weight and therefore your entire life is a most vital because if you believe it if it is real to you then it is for you the precise reality you live every day.

If your personal truth is riddled with counterproductive thoughts and beliefs then it is now our job to get real with what you believe about yourself that are not working for you.
For instance
If you believe with utmost certainty that this is yet just another attempt another fad "diet" that you will fail yet again and never be able to manage your weight then failure is what your personal truth dictates to you.
What's more is that your personal truth will show up as a heavy load of disgust, shame, guilt hurt, self hatred or loathing, along with other voices of self-criticism that do nothing but drag you down.

Gateway # 1 Right Thinking; unlocking the door to self control
What this key does enables you to discard all the toxic messages and replace them with realistic positive thoughts then step out and act upon them.
When you do this you gain access to your real power your real opportunity to impact your personal weight control and completely break that cycle as to what it means to life as an overweight person

TODAY Is MY tomorrow. It's up to ME to shape it, To TAKE CONTROL and seize EVERY opportunity. The POWER is in the choices I make EVERY day. I eat well, I live well I SHAPE ME!

THE EMPOWERED LIFE. EXPECT IT . BELIEVE IT. RECEIVE IT.

So, ultimately each of us have a decision to make. You know it, I know it. Otherwise we would not be here.
At this very moment you're are thinking about your weight and how you've have tried to lose it in a million different ways, each in which the consequences turned out to be the wrong way. Now you're thinking, wondering if maybe just maybe there is something here, something you've all wanted for a very long time. And if there is should I try it?

Hear me out. In mulling this decision over in our heads is not whether to start yet another "diet". We've made that well intentioned but misguided choice dozens of times. And what has the outcome resulted in? The weight keeps creeping up or even shooting sky high in regaining what we worked so hard to accomplish, making it more difficult to control year after year.

The decision we must make is whether or not we will quit conning ourselves into believing that there is some hot new weightloss program out there that we so desperately need to be the truth, promising immediate results that will last us the rest of our lives.

So here's the decision. Do we want to keep chasing after rainbows letting ourselves be seduced by "miracle" diets that in the end are only empty promises and lies or are we ready to get real about fat or remain real fat? I say it's time to get real and stop gambling with our lives and our health.

My name is Gayle AKA NOMORESTALLING and for most of my life, I have had a really cockamamie relationship with food. I've tried and failed at so many of the diets on the market. Consequently, I've lost and gained hundreds of pounds. I've kept four different sizes of clothing in my closet, and felt tremendous shame and sadness about my relationship with food and inability to keep my weight in line.
Now, finally after following the wisdom of both Dr Phil's 7 Keys : The Ultimate Weightloss Solution and Dr. Joel Furhman's 3 Steps to Incredible Health & Weightloss ;changing and accepting these thought processes because it is a unity of mind body and spirit that brings success, I've not only lost the first 100 pounds without worry or effort I continue to lose and maintain knowing that I'll never gain the weight back. Why? Because I can't. I don't think about food anymore and if I don't think about it, I can't desire it and if I don't desire it, I won't eat too much of it, and I won't gain weight.

I really want to commend you for embarking on this journey with me. It is a courageous choice to change habits that have caused us to suffer physically, mentally & emotionally. I call it the hero's journey. As we venture forth, we will uplift ourselves and everyone around us. It is a truly courageous and generous act to embrace your own growth and evolution.
Changing mind body and spirit is a spiritual journey that will lead us in the direction of true happiness and deeper into the cave of your own heart.

Without further ado, let's get started.

Here is the wonderful news I want to share with you! Yes, it is possible to be free from obsession with food and body weight! It is possible to live without worrying about what you will eat next, whether it will make you fat, or whether you'll have the willpower to eat in a way that keeps you from busting out of your jeans.

The most important key to this is seeing the whole truth about food and what's been going on in your relationship with it. No matter how long you've been struggling with food, you don't have to take your eating, weight, and body image issues to your grave. You can free yourself of them for good.
We are worth it! We can do this!
