Sorry about your sinus problem and allergy. I know the feeling. I cough, sneeze, watery eyes, headache, acts like a cold sometimes. Plus today is damp and going to be through Friday, with rain, so I am all aches and pains, all over, with the arthritis.

I finished the last chapter of my book last night. Now, to either find a decent agent or a publisher, no e book, or digital.

Rough day as my right sinus is swollen. It's having a sort of allergic reaction to something and that causes swelling. Quite a nuisance. Didn't eat very well today but still went to the gym. Upper body lifting though felt a little weak even though I'd eaten more than enough. Hopefully tomorrow is a little better.

I made the eggplant and froze it for Easter. Then made my soup, washed clothes and had to get off my legs, from standing too much.

Worked on still editing my novel. It sounds a lot better now. Have about l2 chapters to still edit again.

I ended up not going to the gym today. I only slept maybe an hour some time around 2 am and that was it. Could not sleep and have had a headache since 3 am. Decided it wouldn't be great to do heavy squats when tired and achy. So, I didn't do much but stay awake so I could sleep tonight, though I did go out to eat sushi with a couple guys from work. We have 2 male cashiers who are newer to the company so it was fun to just go out and chill with them for lunch.

I don't make soup often but it can be fun because there plenty of room to be creative in ingredients used. Right now I'm limited on space food wise cause only have the small amount of cabinets and fridge/freezer for all 4 of us in the 2 bedroom apartment.

Today I lifted weights after sleeping in late because I could not fall asleep last night. Good thing I didn't have to go in to work. Weight lifting went fine and did 30 minutes running on treadmill as well. Now to work on spring cleaning.

Wow....Big day. Do you like to make soup?

I like to create in cooking. This is how I make my soup.

l cup of veg broth
l cup of water
l cup powder bullion in hot water.
l cup of broccoli
l cup of mushrooms
l onion, depending on how big you make it, otherwise as much as you want.
l cup carrots
l cup corn
l pkg predue chicken
l/c cup of alphabet pasta
l winter squash
2 zucchini

You can cut it down or make a lot and freeze it.

Doesn't take long to cook. Once veggies are cooked then put in pasta and chicken when pasta is cooked, warm in microwave.

60 sounds nice. It has mostly been raining here with some downpours and one moment of tiny hail. Hopefully today is a little better. Have to cashier then will go lift weights after work because I was tired and wanted to sleep in so didn't do it beforehand. Thursday and Friday are my rest days from lifting. Thursday I did gym a little but just 25 minutes on elliptical and used the smith machine briefly to take video of how I use it for pull-ups and chin-ups instead of other lifts for a thing on instagram. Yesterday I took coworker to airport at 6:30 in the morning, tried to nap, then worked plus cooked some food after work so I have something to eat today.

My shoulders and arms are acting up so I decided not to try to lift anything. I guess I just have to live with what I can do, in the line of exercise.

Lifted weights in the afternoon since didn't have to work today. I did upper body and ran on treadmill for 30 minutes afterwards. Tomorrow will be squats but going later in the evening so can have food beforehand.

Lately, I don't get to sleep till after midnight some nights and want to sleep in the morning, my self. I am still hurting. I fell years ago on my right side and have a degenerated disc and if affects my legs. Also, the cold mornings and dampness are no help.

I had to change the beds and wash sheets today and now doing mail, but have half of bike done, then need to get some stuff from store, so my day is half over already before I can even get to writing or other exercise.

You would think being home you have lots of time, but it doesn't work out that way. LOL

When to work out is personal preference. Some can do mornings and it's better for them to get it out of the way. Others not so much. I stay up late so wouldn't get enough sleep if I did mornings plus my will power in the morning is minimal. So easy to talk myself into staying in bed longer unless it's for work or such. I do better working out at night instead or middle of day if I'm not working.

I did gym last night and tonight after work. Last night was bench press and tonight the focus was on deadlifts.

It seems I do lots better when there is sun outside then when it is cloudy. I still have my bike but have been waiting as this morning the muscles tightened up on me and had spasms, so Ben Gay came to the rescue. I am going to try and walk up and down my short street, when it gets a little warmer. I lost more when I could walk.

Been busy and had some internet/browser issues. On my days off at last after working basically 9 days in a row (one was about 3 hours but still). Have tomorrow off from work too, so that will be nice.

Saturday I lifted weights before work, Sunday I lifted after work. Monday just was work and today I lifted weights in the early afternoon. Tomorrow going to lift then try to do a run outside.

I agree with you. I have my own sit down bike and it is adjusted for me only. Dh can not use it as he is taller than me. I am only 5 ft and he is 6.

Only thing I did was bike for exercise and grocery shopping walking around the store.
It was so windy out. I want to see if I can walk up and down the street.

I think part of the issue is having the bike set up right. Classes like spinning or bikes that are commercial (in gyms and such) are designed for general but if a tall person or someone had used it, getting it so seat, pedals and everything are set right can be a challenge.

Last night I lifted after working 10 hour cashier shift. Left hip was a bit achy so at some point I'll be doing lifts before work instead of after even though that means higher chance of other people at the gym. The lifts aren't heavy right now but will be building it up over the next 6 ish weeks.

Today I just worked regular shift, no fitness.

You could be right on the knees with the sit down bike. I notice the muscles in the back of my legs get hard and I get cramps. I think today I will just stay off it for a day.

Busy with washing towels and clothes, then if I have time grocery shopping. It raining out so not sure if I want to venture out today.

My gym doesn't have a stair climber, not that I would use it cause stairs suck. Not sure on hip but not great on knees either. Oddly the stationary bikes bother my knees more than the treadmills.

I heard the stair climber is not good for your hips. I never cared for the running machine.
My son had one and I had a hard time getting off it. I have the stretch ropes and rubber bands. And I do the exercise on the floor, so I do a lot for my age. Maybe a good idea I can not use weights anymore because with my thumbs and arthritis I could drop them.

Funny thing about that saying... because of how much energy flight takes and such, birds actually eat a lot compared to how little they are.


After my 10 hour work shift yesterday, was asked to go in early, I lifted weights at the gym. Also worked a couple of hours this morning on my day off so instead of going for a run, I took a nap. Will run and lift tomorrow after work.

I had to cut my bike time as my knee was starting to bother me. I went to my gs basketball championship game and after sitting for half hour my legs were hurting. I got on the bike when I got home.

I wish the weight would move. I think have to cut down even lower on what I am eating. I guess you have to eat like a bird. LOL

Yesterday was an hour long yoga session before work and did 30 minute run on treadmill after work.

Today I did upper body weight lifting then went to a 2 hour introduction to yoga workshop. It was interesting. Need to bring resistance band to gym closest to home for warm ups next time but my key thing worked so that was good to know.

I did yoga followed by lower body lifting with a focus on squats. The peak cycle is going to be interesting to say the least.

You should be proud of yourself for all you are doing. Not many will do what you do. They just give up. I know I am proud of you. As for me I continue my bike each day and my back exercise. Still at a stand still but guess have to eat even less to lose more.

It is too bad you can't lift but at least you work hard and do what you can.

Lifting earlier today and ran on treadmill. Started my training for a powerlifting meet so the days are going to vary a little. Still doing upper body 2 days a week and lower body 2 days but instead of power days and hypertrophy I have main lifts on each one and a little accessory work. I have a template to follow on what amount to lift each day on the competition lifts which are: squat, bench and deadlift.

Trying to work towards getting a new PR at the meet in April. Will be a fun new challenge though the outfit required to wear in competition is not my ideal. That one piece high school wrestlers wear, yeah that is the basic requirement for powerlifting though doesn't have to be thin straps on the shoulders and do need a shirt under it for bench and squat. Still, going to be awkward but will put up with it to compete.

I hate the fact I can not lift weights anymore because of shoulder spurs. I, for sure, do not want pain there, so keep away, but miss doing them. I have to be contented with the bike as walking is not an option anymore with the legs getting tired.

So far managing to not go too high in weight.

Yep. The change is for the best. Plus, small ended up meaning less people as there is no one there at all when I work out late. Like tonight: I lifted weights after work. Lower body with squat PR attempt. Failed 205 but did get one very slow rep at 200, which is a slight increase from last time. Hoping to get 205 or 210 at the power lifting meet in April, because that would be just over 1.5 x bodyweight.

Even tho smaller a lot better for you. You don't have far to go and can work out longer.

Yesterday I did another yoga class, basic Hatha again. I was going to do cardio after work but forgot my gym clothes at work. I'll have to do it tonight after lifting. Last night at the gym I had first joined over a year ago. Soon it will be just the small gym that's closer to work and home.

My day loaded. We went to Mass, an hour because we had the old priest and ashes and communion, then home and out again to the Oncologist. She told me I do not have to come to her anymore as she finds I am doing well with the radiation I had. Usually, you go 5 years but I only went three. She had me two years in a row and then last year I was told I didn't have to go, then this year was 4 years and I expected another year next year. But she said for me to see my surgeon, when I have my mamo and if I have any problems I can call her for an appointment, but didn't think I would have too. She said because the cancer was in the duck usually that cancer does re appear. Then we came home and feed Hailey and took her out and went grocery shopping. It was 4 pm when we got back and I started my bike and finished it now. I am tired and need rest. My gd just called she made the honor society of America, she is so smart high honors an in a group of students of 20 high honors. She leaves for Greece, with l8 students and 3 teachers tomorrow, for 9 days. She is excited. I worry, with her mother till she gets back.

Did a session of gentle hatha yoga, then lifted weights followed by 45 minutes on the elliptical. Wasn't going to cardio that much but watched Chopped on Food network as all of the machines have tv.

Yesterday I managed the l00 on bike again but I am tired. I just finished 50 today and have to make lunch for dh. I am tired and I think it is all the snow, even though I did not shovel.
Seems when it is cold and we get snow the house seems colder and then my arthritis acts up and I hurt all over. We are going to 2 this week end. Burr I think winter is coming back now and will last through march. Easter will probably be a cold one.
