I didn't know you could turn off the suggestions.I haven't been able to follow their food plan.I haven't the money to change all the food in my cupboards.I have been eating the food I have and encouraging others to eat the sugary stuff.I am finding that I am getting a fondness for soups as they are very comforting to make as well as eat.I am replacing most of my old food choices with vegetables. The nutrition plan is helping me to make swaps.I started way above my calorie goal but it's come down as i learn the best choices emoticon

You can also use the menu plans as a template for your own kinds of food. I don't follow this plan to the letter because they don't have soups on it or the foods that I like. I use the Biggest Looser meal planning template which is like the food pyramaid.

Well, assuming you're new here and are still in stage 1, right now they really just want you to track your food and exercises to make sure you aware of what you're currently doing (right or wrong). And in phase to you're asked to improve your eating and exercising habits.

That's not to say that you can't do it now, but I wouldn't stress over it. Personally, I turned off the suggested meal plans, and track what I eat.

I have used this program before. I found if I look at the menus sometimes they give me an idea to eat something different. What I do is add the nutrient facts to the bottom of the page so I can see what I need. Being a women with bone problems in my family I track calcium. I have stomach problems so fiber is important. And protein is always important. And lastly Iron because I like energy. I just try to plan out my meals so I have all that stuff. I will sit before I go to bed and put in combinations of stuff I have in my fridge to get what I need. When I get stumped sometimes I will look at the meals for ideas. maybe I am wierd because I feel like with my life so hetic I have control over something so it isn't a chore for me.

I don't use the meal plans at all. Some of them don't seem realistic. They had me eating cottage cheeseas a protein for dinner one night. Not my idea of a good evening meal. I have not been at this very long though. Maybe I would do better sticking with the meal plans. What I find REALLLY helpful is the analysis of my food intake at the end of the day. I did not realize that I was eating SO much sodium. I don't even add salt to my foods! But knowledge is half the battle I think. I am now more aware of it and trying to change. I don't wake up with swollen hands and feet now.
Whatever you do, just stick to it. Find what works for you and your lifestyle. That way it will be a long term change. GOOD LUCK!

I did not begin this with the diet they have and have just been eating what I have in the fridge and adding it. Would it be better to just go with the meal choices they have? I am quite prudent and don't like to waste food so I am just wondering if anyone has followed their meal plan completely? I am going to print out the grocery list and try it next wee. I do think so far it has made me really check myself in the is that really healthy or are you kidding yourself? Also, walking whenever I get a 10 minute window at my office.
