I don't have one on my computer and I couldn't get it to download on to the computer so that is why I had to do it this way.

Thank you for sharing information about your extended cat family! I enjoy a wider picture of other people's involvement with their cats. I am sure others do as well.

Thanks for making me feel better. My husband and I think about our Eddie every day as he was always at the door waiting for us. No other cat will be able to take his place but we do have 2 kittens that we are now feeding. All my feral cats are related. These kittens belong to Eddie's mom sister, Miss Kitty (the gray cat in the link below). One of the kittens looks a lot like Eddie but is a girl and Miss Kitty's brother Tomtom (the black and white cat in the link below) is looking after this kitten. We decided to call her Lucy! emoticon (the all-black cat in the link below is Shadow and is afraid of people and the little yellow cat is the other kitten of Miss Kitty)

With a Heavy Heart,
Terri

I think if you click on the link below you will see a bunch of our feral cats. Eddie is the one in the upper right. A dark tabby cat.

Thanks for thinking of me. I have been crying for 4 days over losing this sweet fur baby. Am I crazy? He was a feral cat but every morning and night he met me for some petting. I have lots of feral cats that we take care of and Eddie was just so sweet and loving. I guess that is part of the reason I can’t quit crying. Besides he only got 1 year of life. Thanks for reading this post. emoticon Eddie looked like this kitty. scontent.fmci1-1.fna.fbcdn.n

I am very sad about our little cat named Eddie. Eddie got ran over by a car this morning. I have done nothing but cry all morning. He was such a sweet cat. Eddie loved to eat and when he was little he found out that the food came from the inside of this big door. He would wait around until he heard a noise on the door handle, then he would hide just until Billy started to walk away from the dishes and squeeze his way in to get his share of the food. He became such a butterball. As time went on Billy was able to get closer and closer until we were able to pet him and love him. Now he isn’t such a butterball as he knows he can have all the food he wants. Eddie became Lord of the rock. It is the piece of rock that sits right outside the door as you step in or out of the front door. Buddy use to sit there and still does until Eddie decides that he wants to sit there. I don’t know if Buddy just decided to give up his place on the rock or if Eddie decided he was the Rock Lord and makes Buddy move. He is a dark tabby!

We had to have a beautiful black beauty, Bella go to the rainbow bridge yesterday if she had a cancerous tumors spreading to her lymph nodes. She was 16 1/2 years old and we were lucky to be her mom and dad for 11 of those years! We loved her so much and she will be very much missed!

Rosie..the one on top..left us in 2015. She was the first Munchkin kitten born to us during our breeding years. She was a Regional Winner Supreme Grand Champion.
Krissy..the one in the window..left us early last year and broke my heart. She was the first Munchkin cat we owned. She was not viable for our breeding program and became the Old Lady of the house. She would sleep across my chest purring for hours...she was my special little princess. She did show briefly and earned the Champion title and a Regional award for her unique coloring...she was a cinnamon and white tortie.

Deborah--Texas Hill Country--Kerrville
Baby steps will get me to my goal(s).
One day at a time, heck, one meal at a time...this will be my road to success.

We lost our wonderful Kalpin on Friday, 12/29. I can finally sorta talk about it. He was 18 years old and had metastasized cancer, kidney failure, and internal bleeding. He isn't suffering any more.

We had 10 special years with Kalpin after we got him from the Humane Society. He was the best, funniest, smartest cat ever to grace our lives--and that's saying something. We miss him terribly.

I had to let go of my sweet boy, Reverend, yesterday. I had 20 long and wonderful years with him. Last night was so tough as that is when we would cuddle and hang out together. I really miss him. He was a terrific kitty. I couldn't ask for a better one.

Tomorrow morning I take Mikey in to be euthanized. He developed Feline Kidney disease. is getting progressively worse every day. Only weighs about 4-5 pounds. I got him when he was a kitten over 17 years ago. He is my little buddy follows me around the house. Lays on the router when I am on the computer, lays on my lap when I watch television and sleeps with me.Tells me off when I get home from over-night trips. I am going to miss him. Love you, Mikey

So sorry to hear about little Abbie! I had an Abby, too. She was the cat until now that I loved the most. Someone dropped her off in a neighborhood and a friend kept her for a week and was going to take her to a shelter when my daughter and I went and got her. We had her for 11 years. Love is being sent your way! emoticon emoticon

My Abbie has a cancerous growth on her jaw. She cannot close he mouth or keep her tongue in her mouth. She always was a small cat but now she is down to less than 4 lbs. She is 17 years old. We have had her since she was 5. We have had many rescue cats but none have lived with us for more than 5 years. I am taking her in Wednesday for euthanasia Mark has been giving her medicine but it is hard to give it to her.Today I put her to sleep could not eat much more and her mouth continually.

I want to report the loss of my dear friend's beloved Gabbie, an amazing Sphynx cat. Gabbie was 17 years old and crossed the bridge on July 12th. Gabbie was agile, clever, and loving, and ruled her humans and the house with a firm-but-gentle, fur-less paw.

They've had Gabbie since she was a kitten, when they tried to keep her warm with tiny sweaters and T-shirts. Once Gabbie became a teenager, she would have none of that. Her humans had to find other ways to keep her warm through a Minnesota winter. The house is empty without this 9-pound, loving dictator.

Gabbie is much loved and deeply missed.

I am so sorry about the loss of Smokey. My 9 year old Kobe passed away on Good Friday. He was fine the night before or so we thought. On Friday morning, his breathing sounded strange, so he was rushed to the vet, and he died a few minutes after getting there. The vet said it was probably his heart or his lungs. I really don't know. We do miss him very much.

I am keeping Fuzzy in my thoughts and prayers in hopes that her diabetes can be controlled and that she will have a long life.

I'm sorry for your loss. I know some of the feelings you must be going through. My little Fuzzy, a feral cat we adopded five years ago, started passing blood in her urine. I took her to the vet and she has diabetes. I'm giving her insulin shots every morning. If we don't get the diabetes under control she may have to be euthanased. It's really difficult to live with her knowing that in a month or two she'll may have to leave me. It is tearing me up to have to make this decision. Has anyone had experience with cats and diabetes. She's such a sweet girl and dosen't appear to be in pain. What can I do to help her? I'm trying to spend quality time with her.

I understand. Each one of our pets is special. We love them all, but getting another pet does not replace the feelings that we had and continue to have for those whom we've lost.

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your babies over the Rainbow Bridge. I know how it feels. I lost Cricket back in March of 2014. He was very special to me, and I think of him every day. I have 5 other cats who are also special, but none so special as Cricket.

I lost Paisley, my first pet, April 11th of last year. I had found out there was nothing anyone could do for her about a day and a half before that. It was the worst thing I've ever gone through. She was my best friend. I do have her footprint in clay as well as stamped on a piece of paper. Her remains are in a box. I've wanted an urn for her but that has made it so final for me that right now her remains are in a box in a bag displayed on my shelf. I adopted Cooper (picture) hours after I said goodbye to her. He has been a godsend and is a wonderful cat. I didn't want to lose Paisley but I am grateful that the timing was such that he is now in my life. But despite it almost being a year, seeing pics of her or thinking about her or saying her name can stab me in the gut and suck the oxygen out of me.

It has now been a while since Addie died but I think of her often. We have her remains in a little box with her name on it. We were lucky to have Buddy to comfort us. Now we have another little stinker (Prince) each so special in our hearts. I am thankful for the joy each bring to me. Condolences to all who have lost and Congratulations to all who have allowed another to move into your heart and carve out another joyful space along side the memories of all our loved ones.

It's been awhile since I posted. We got little Rosie on Dec 20. She was 7 1/2 weeks old, about 12 oz. A month later she has more than doubled in size, and has been accepted by the two older cats. I spent all my time with her for two weeks, and helped the older cats adjust, and the kitten was young enough to intuitively submit to the supremacy of the older cats. It's beautiful to behold. She doesn't behave like a replacement kitty, but rather the Princess Rosie bestowing her presence on lucky us.

What a beautiful name for a topic. My heart goes out to all who have lost their loved ones. Our Shilo was the joy of our lives. I am not ready to replace her in our family yet, I look at the adoptable and I want them all! Rather then joy seeing them I feel sadness and I tear up. One day I will pick out a kitten and enjoy all of the pleasure and companionship they give.
Have a great day. Susan

On the upside, I'll be getting a new kitten on Dec 20. It's a two hour drive to get her, and she will be just under 8 weeks old. Kittens that tiny require constant care for about a month, which is why many breeders won't release kittens until they are 12 weeks old. I have something to look forward to!!

So sorry to hear about the passing of Isabelle. Ironically, our Butters was euthanized on the same day. Two days earlier, x-rays revealed cancerous tumors in his lungs and fluid accumulation in his abdomen. He hadn't been eating for about a week. He had been sick with pancreatitis off & on over a 2 year period. My hubby was medicating him twice daily. It was such an ordeal for everyone. I miss him so much but I'm thankful that the suffering is finally over.

My Isabelle died today. She has been very ill and we were going to take her to the vet to be put down one week ago today, but she looked like she was rallying. Then this morning she wouldn't eat or drink anything. She went down to the basement and lay down and died. We had a plumber here for a couple of hours this morning, so I checked on all the cats, and Isabelle was hunkered down under the desk. An hour later I did my cat count, and found her dead. I'm glad she died here in her familiar house rather than at the vet's. We will bury her in the woods out back, in view of the window where she spent hours looking out. The other two cats will be looking for her soon. Last night Isabelle was snuggled up to Vida as usual. Poor Vida. Siobhan will be curious but not too upset. Vida will be bereft.

Such sad news, TWELVECOOKIE. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Try to think of Zoe, happy, healthy, and enjoying herself with all of the others who have crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. When I think of my Cricket, who crossed over last year, I 'picture' that scene, and it makes his loss a little easier to accept.

Thanks, Pam. Cooper didn't know her - I adopted him a couple hours after I put Paisley down. I couldn't bear the thought of spending even one day without a pet; an animal to love. But yes, I miss Paisley so much. I have a couple pictures of her and I am waiting for her ashes to come back to put in her urn so she can come home again.
