Registration for the Binghamton Bridge Run closes 5/1/2013!

For those already registered, don't forget to pick up your race packet on Saturday. More info here:

I'm hoping to see some of you out there! Even if you aren't up for the run, c'mon down and cheer folks on! :-)

Worldwide Sport Supply Race Expo & Packet Pick-Up
The Race Expo and Packet Pick-Up will take place Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the Metrocenter, 49 Court Street, Binghamton, NY 13901 from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (Limited Pre-Registration will be from 12 to 3).

Free Parking is available in the Metrocenter lot (entrance on Henry Street) and in all City parking ramps. The nearest to the Metrocenter is on the corner of Henry & State Streets.
The packets will be separated by race type and will include: race bibs with timing device attached, safety pins and instructions for your timing device. *Please read the instructions included with your timing device and DO NOT BEND.*

Shirts will be separated by race type and will be distributed by volunteers. Half marathon participants will receive a tote bag with their shirt, courtesy of ICS Solutions Group.
If you pick up your packet at the Expo, you do not need to arrive early to the stadium. 5K participants that have their packets should go directly to their start line on Sunday.
Race Day Packet Pick Up: HM at the entrance of NYSEG Stadium. 5K will be on Henry near the 5K Start Line (In front of Post Office) we will move packet pick up closer to the 5K Start line.
Goody bag items are first come, first serve. These items are generously donated and we do our best to try to accommodate as many participants as possible.
**If you cannot attend Packet Pick-Up on Saturday, you can pick up your packet on Race Day beginning at 6:00 a.m for the Half Marathon and 8:00 a.m. for the 5K.**
**You can have someone else pick up your packet, just provide them a copy of your photo ID."*

There is no shuttle service to NYSEG Stadium.
Race Day Schedule of Events:
The schedule for race day is as follows:
6:00 a.m. - Packet Pick Up (HM) opens (entrance of NYSEG Stadium)
7:15 a.m. - Packet Pick-Up (HM) closes
7:20 a.m. - HM participants line up at Start Line - All walkers must line up at the end of the group
7:25 a.m. - Course Rules, National Anthem
7:30 a.m. - HM Race begins
8:00 a.m. - Packet Pick Up (5K) opens (near 5K Start Line - Post Office Henry Street)
9:15 a.m. - Packet Pick Up (5K) closes
9:50 a.m. - 5K participants line up at Start line (Henry St. past Post Office) - All walkers must line up at the en of the group
9:55 a.m. - Course Rules, Runners Line Up
10:00 a.m. 5K race begins
10:15 a.m. Awards for HM (entrance of NYSEG Stadium)
11:00 a.m. Course Closes for both races
11:30 a.m. Awards for Both Races
12:00 p.m. 2013 Greater Binghamton Bridge Run officially closed

Medical Services

The City of Binghamton EMS will have two ambulances located along the course route;
A medical services tent will be located just past the Finish Line at the convergence of Fayette & Lewis Streets;
Medical service providers include the City of Binghamton EMS, Broome County EMS, Lourdes and UHS;
There will be a "sag wagon" provided by Jack Sherman Toyota following runners, should anyone not be able to complete their race;
HAM radio operators will be located at all water stations and along the course and can call in immediately to the Broome County EMS Communications Van;
Per the request of Binghamton traffic authorities, we ask that all those walking in the Half Marathon stay on the sidewalks. This request is with your safety in mind.
Water /Powerade Stations & Port-a-Potties
Water Stations / Powerade Stations will be located on miles 2,4,6,8,10,12, Finish Line (HM) and Miles 1,2,3 and Finish Line for the 5K - there will be the addition of Powerade this year at each water station (Powerade will begin at mile 4);
Water is being provided by Culligan Water and Powerade by Next Generation Vending;
Port-a-Potties will be located on miles 3,6,9,11

Post-Race Food Tent
Post-race food/beverage items will be located on Fayette & Lewis Streets, past the Finish line; items include:
Bagels, muffins, cookies & fruit courtesy of Price Chopper
Chobani yogurt, Nirchi's pizza, Water, powerade and soda

* Please note: The Post-Race Food Tent is for Bridge Run participants ONLY! We do our best to provide enough items for those registered for the race. New this Year: Gance's Complete Catering mobile truck will be on Lewis Street with food & beverage items for purchase for spectators!
Construction on Course - Gateway Project
The City of Binghamton recently started construction on the Court Street Gateway project.
This affects an area on the courses (roughly mi 3.75 & 12.5 on HM and mi 2.5 on 5K);
The course will remain open, but runners should be aware of potential runner congestion in this area; Follow the orange directionals on the road.
Road Marshals
Road marshals will be located AT EVERY INTERSECTION along the Bridge Run courses. This includes more than 40 Binghamton and auxiliary police and more than 100 road marshal volunteers;
Road marshals can be easily identified by safety green (similar to DOT color) shirts with the Bridge Run logo on them;
Pace Car
The Binghamton Police Department will provide the pace car (motorcycle actually) for the runners;
Jack Sherman Toyota will provide a sag wagon which will follow the last Bridge Run participant to caution drivers of runners/walkers on the road.
Should there be any inclement weather - Bridge Run race officials will make any announcements regarding race status (if necessary) to all local media outlets including radio, television & internet resources
If on the course, runners should listen for air-horns located at water stations indicating a stop to the race, should any severe weather strike.
