Ok, another week down and it's been VERY quiet on this team!
LDR was 12 miles this week and now I'll taper until the Half Marathon in 2.5 weeks.

Success - according to the scale at the gym, I'm down a few pounds, although t home, I'm holding steady...???
Bad - While my laundry got done - at least my workout stuff...(hehe), my nutrition is still the same. Thinking I may wait until March to tackle this.

Good - 11 mile LDR on Saturday
Bad - Emotional weekend - blog about it is coming, warning, it's going to be sad. I apologize in advance.
Lesson learned - Still not 'eating' my emotions. Weight holding steady. Seriously need to revamp diet and do laundry!

Ok, it's been a few days since I've checked in. Overall - the weekend was pretty good. I did retail therapy instead of eating my emotions. Woo Hoo! That is a big step for me.

Workouts were ok over the weekend. And spin class feel great last night.

Bad - my nutrition really needs to get better PRONTO....I'm dragging my feet. And I need to focus on it. About a month to the half marathon, so it's the perfect time to start eating a little cleaner!

Week round up

Good- I was off work for a 5 day weekend and didn't stray too much

Bad- When I'm at home, I'm not consistent with my eating and usually skip meals.

Lesson- Use Spark more to make sure I am eating and logging when I should be.

Fri - Pretty good food choices and I got a quick cardio and strength session in. Bad - I short changed the cardio(have I mentioned I hate treadmills?)

Sat - Counting line dancing as my cardio and I didn't drink anything except diet coke at the bar.

Sunday - Ran 6 miles in just over an hour. Finally cooked at home and made pretty good food choices again.

Bad - A few slip ups here and there, but nothing detrimental to my calorie intake.

Lesson Learned - Need to cook at home more. And I think wheat bread makes me gassy...hehe!

Friday -

Good - Did 6.5 miles in 60.21 min! Woohoo!

Bad - Had an appt for knee pain, I knew the answer, but got in confirmed - osteoarthritis. Joy. At least it doesn't hurt when I run.

Lesson learned - Thankful that it doesn't hurt to exercise and it isn't overuse injury. Hate that the pain keeps me up at night. I'm thinking a move to somewhere warm would take care of it - just can't get the family onboard with the idea.

Thursday
GOOD- Office had steak fajitas, rice, and chips & salsa ordered in. I'm declined and stuck with my Lean Cuisine meal.
BAD- Finished off the remaining 5 berry pie that we had from guests and it threw me over my calorie limits.
LESSON- I wasn't really HUNGRY and shouldn't have eaten the pie for the sake of getting rid of it. The trash can works just as well.

Good - squeezed in a workout despite having a meeting at 6PM. Ate at a steakhouse instead of Chinese....
Bad - Meeting was actually at 7, could have done the full workout and then some.
Lesson learned - Double check times. Although, this allowed me to make better food choices at the steakhouse rather than eating the scary chinese food riddle with fat and sodium...

GOOD- Ate well and got in a 2 mile run
BAD- I'm still bothered that I have trouble running 2 miles now.
LESSON- Accept that I slacked off running for 4 months. I won't be able to just go out and run 5 miles like I normally did. Work back up to it!

GOOD- Lots of around the house chores finished
BAD- Meetings today and they order enchiladas for lunch. So I had one with a side of rice.
LESSON- Sometimes you won't have a choice of foods but you have to make the choice to not overdue it.

Great job getting the 10 miler in on Sunday...we stopped after 7.5 because of the wind. It had my back SUPER tight....

Good - Got stray cat out of my house in time to make it to spin.

Sunday - GOOD - 10 mile run in single digit temps
BAD - can't complain about a thing that starts out with a frigid 10 miler

Monday - GOOD - made fairly decent eating choices today despite it being a very stressful one
BAD - stress got the best of me and I felt in a funk. Didn't have the desire to get my 3 mile recovery run in.
LESSON - tomorrow is a rest day and I will make up today's missed run hopefully.

Friday
GOOD- Ate smart and very little during the day
BAD- Ate wings and drink beer at dinner (although I planned for it)
LESSON- It's good to treat yourself if you plan accordingly.

Saturday
GOOD- Ran needed errands
BAD- Had a few more beers while out with the guys
LESSON- Staying out late makes it harder to make better eating decisions. However, I didn't give in to late night eating.

Sunday
GOOD- Watched football games??
BAD- Ate healthy and did not opt for pizza and other normal bad Sunday meals
LESSON- Need balance between food and exercising.

My weekend was not a terrible one but I would have preferred to gotten in some exercise. I knew I had plans that would not put me in the best food/drink choices but I realize that this has to be a treat and not a trend.

Friday- cant remember lol
Saturday- Good. Went hiking at Andy Guest Park 1st time.Chose to take a path going up into the hills(so unlike me) Bad- didnt bring snacks so was hungry along the way.Also had not clue where the path was leading and if we were getting back to car before dark..lol LESSON: Be more prepared next time with some energy snacks and grabbing a map to know where we are going.
Sunday- GOOD- took well needed rest day since muscles were sore. BAD- didnt accomplish much.
LESSON.. Gotta stretch more to ease the aches

Friday -
Good - Active recovery workout felt great!
Bad - Screwed up the treadmill program and never got over 3.6 mph for 45 minutes.
Lesson Learned - Don't try and change settings on the treadmill.

Saturday - Good hit the gym to lift first thing int he morning, Bad - Lunchtime Legendary Margharita...hehe! Lesson Learned - One day isn't going to kill my efforts, however, it needs to be kept in check!

Sunday - Good -Long Run in despite the frigid temps outside! Bad - Whipmped out the last half mile and walked when the wind was pelting us in the face.
Lesson learned - 7.5 miles battling the wind is a good day under 30 degrees!

Friday/ Saturday:

Good - caffeine free for a week. Not really a conscious decision but I have been focusing on drinking so much water that I didn't miss my Coke Zero.

BAD - wanted something sweet so I opted for 8 oz glass of Zero.

Lesson - caffeine after 6 pm always keeps me awake and yet knowing this, I had a random glass at 9? Now I have insomnia...the skin crawling, can't turn your brain off kind. I am dumping out the Zero!

Good- Avoided excuses and went for a run outside

Bad- Garmin died 2 minutes into it so I had no idea how far I had gone and how many calories were burned.

Had to come home and "GMap" it. www.gmap-pedometer.com/ . Pretty good link by the way for runners and walkers to plan routes beforehand.

Thurs:
The good - Ate well - healthy and fairly clean

The bad - Had to skip scheduled workout due to unexpected family interruptions.

Learning that interruptions will happen. Not to beat myself up over it. Take advantage of the extra rest day as my knee has been aching a little any way (think its the cold).

Good: Made it to the gym
Bad - Treadmill won the battle tonight....had to finish on the track!

Lesson Learned - Time with friends is priceless! And guiltfree if I get my workout in first!!!

Griz - Predicted time 5 miler? I'll be in a snowman hat...(notice a theme...) We are having a good time with the winter series runs this year! I'm predict 53 minutes...

Wednesday:

Good- I skipped the dessert platter coworkers brought in today.

Bad- I missed a workout tonight.

Lesson Learned- There will be times that my workout plans will be changed. The key is to adjust and make up for it. Tomorrow I plan on running to prepare for a 5 mile run at the end of the month.

For today -

The good: I completed my 30 min training run.

The bad: I completely wussed out and couldn't fathom going out in the cold again so did it in the basement.....the wind was too much. I'm weak!

I will continue to try and run outside as much as possible but somedays I need to be pushed and have the door locked behind me. Hehehe.

OK... great idea! Here is mine for today:

good - I went for a run this morning.

bad - I was supposed to do 5 and could only muster 4. My legs felt like sludge.

lesson I'm trying to learn - stop beating myself up for falling short on my training plan. A plan is just that, a plan. There is noone going to punish me for skipping a mile but myself.

Carly, great choice for you getting the fruit! I love Chic-fil-A and unfortunately they just opened one a few months ago about 2 miles from my house.

Lesson Learned - Pack my gym bag so I'm ready to go and to remember a good workout will relieve the stress I'm harboring after my 2 hour drive home.

I feel like we should cash in on the new year momentum around here. I'm not exactly sure how to do that, but I thought I'd try something.

I made a spark streak goal to post at least once a day. So here is my topic:

Everyday I will post one positive and one negative of my previous day in hopes that I won't repeat mistakes. Feel free to join in or beat me up for my mistakes.

Yesterday, someone tried to relay a quote to me having to do with attitudes and change. It was along the lines of the right attitude can make the difference between and a challenge and a disaster...so, here is to 2011 being a challenge that I will conquer.
