I agree with DJ on your weight loss Candy. how are you doing with the challenge at work?

DJ..there will be a challenge starting Feb. 1.
Yea! to you for also loosing 2 pounds.

these last couple of months were hard ones with 2 major holidays and loosing 2 pounds is a big thing. so you deserve a emoticon pat yourselves on the back and accept this blue ribbon with pride! you deserve it. emoticon

Yay! Candy!!!! good work on the weight loss!

Have had a really good day today. Walked an hour this morning and for the day's total on my step meter thus far it's registering 6400 - and I'll be adding more before evening sets in.

Ended the challenge with an overall 2 lb. loss ... happy with that.

I'm going to be taking a break from the computer/internet the next couple of weeks but will be back for the new challenge Feb 1 - if it starts then or whenever. I'm going to be cutting back on the teams I participate in then as well but do want to do another challenge with this team if everyone wants to/is up for it.

Feel free to pm/sparkmail me - I'll receive notifications ... I may bounce in here in the meantime (who knows - ha!) but if I don't just wanted you to know I haven't 'disappeared/never to return' - ha!

Guess my eating right and exercising was worth it I was down 2 pounds this week emoticon going in the right direction.
When I got home from work I needed less 1000 steps to reach my goal of 10k. Went and did a power walking DVD which was 3 miles. I am sore from workout yesterday, thighs and buns makes walking fun.
Had stir fry for supper.
We have nice weather coming in, up in the 30's and 40's this weekend we might loose all our snow.

I apologize for not having a challenge worked up yet. I will have one ready to stat Feb. 1st. if you wish keep with the old one.

nice to see you back DJ...I can understand the frustration of the computer and the problems. been going through that also. had a hard time getting on tonight. I also have to work on setting up my new desk top as the one I have is very old and not supported and has been hard to even get on line. me and this lap top don't seem to get along a lot of times. another problem with the lap top is when I sit on the couch my cats seem to think it is lap time and they don't care if I'm on the lap top they just walk all over the lap top or sit on it or lay on it. hence I get distracted.

Candy...hay don't deprive yourself. you did good. I had Kentucky Fried Chicken w/mashed potatoes and gravy and a biscuit. I know it was boo-coo calories. I hadn't had KFC for a year or so and was craving it. it sure did taste good and I just move on.

I remember what I had at the end of the 2016 challenge and this is it.

Remember if you slip up donít beat yourself up. Just pick yourself up and get back on track. No matter how many times you fall off track always pick yourself up one more time. Remember to never give up!

now her is another way to look at things as a bump in the road and just needing to keep moving on the even road.

Had a good day, got in 70 minutes of strength training-40 minutes was by accident. I did a 30 minute DVD and was going to do a power walk DVD and the one I put in ended up being a strength one. I think I will be slightly sore tomorrow.
I had a Dairy Queen Blizzard this afternoon and I stayed below my calorie range- crazy.
I do need to get back to getting in my fruits and vegetables, not making my 5 a day.

Sorry I've not been around much ... my computer and internet connection are driving me CRAZY right now ... which frustrates me and eventually stresses me out (which is not good for weight loss - ha!) so some days I didn't even 'want' to turn it on and 'try'. But I have been continuing with the challenge and have gotten 'back on track' with that so at least something has been going 'more right than wrong' - ha!

Hey ladies - snow shoveling DEFINITELY qualifies as exercise - ha! I've never done it ... but I believe it is supposed to be one of the more 'strenuous' workouts? Read that somewhere.

I got my new stepmeter in the mail yesterday ... of course I didn't 'do' any exercise/activity yesterday so only logged 532 steps ... it's hard to get steps in for normal daily stuff - like going back and forth in the house when you live in a motor home and the kitchen is 3 steps away, bathroom 2 more - ha! Thank goodness the bird bath is further away and I can get steps when I go out to fill it - ha! Tomorrow I'm anxious to see how many steps my new meter logs on my regular walking routine. I love the new meter so far - it's a SUPER SIMPLE ONE - no bells/whistles and has a 'large' screen so I can easily read the number! It's an 'old lady/non-techie' type meter - ha! The reset button is also well placed where it accidentally won't get reset - THAT is an important feature to me - I've always had trouble with meters resetting.

Looking forward to the new challenge ... have a good SPARKLY day today!

Well my Saturday was okay I did have some candy and chips which I shouldn't have had. Went to the Dollar Store with my granddaughter and I bought candy and ate it all.
I did super clean my house including mopping the floors and I did a 2 mile power walk so maybe I didn't do too much damage.
Are we going to start a new challenge?

yep, hanging in here also. getting snow again today. hopefully Panda and I can get out for a walk even if it is snowing.

had to go with hubby to drop off his truck to get fixed, didn't have time for breakfast so stopped at a local restaurant for breakfast. had an biscuit and egg type of sandwich and splurged on some homefries. I think I will eat my oatmeal that I usually have for breakfast for lunch. have no idea on what will be for supper yet.

have lots to do today.

Still going strong- another weekend the time when I struggle. Went out to eat last night and had a burger and fries, I had chips and cheese earlier. I didn't track all my food yesterday but I will get back on it today.
Warming up today which will be nice.

Wednesday- I left work frustrated came home and figured shoveling would help but it didn't so I went and did a power walking big burn for 30 minutes and that really helped.
Went out to dinner with my 2 sisters, we are trying to get together once a month. We went to Olive Garden, I have only been there 1 other time. Came home and tracked my food and I was okay calorie wise.

Panda hope your visit to the city was good.

lost this thread. finally took time to check things out.

I think shoveling snow is exercise. I know what you mean about how your body would rather be in comfortable shoes. been there with boots and ached from wearing them to long.

well, I lost this thread probably due to missing clicking on it in my email box. I have gotten behind on things and I apologize for being lax in things. it had been a rough wreath season and having a controlling husband doesn't help and...just leave it at that. taking a few minutes to catch up with the team and I love your ideas. I copied the suggestions you ladies have given me and I will think and work on these ideas as they are great ideas. so glad you gave me input as this is your team also and you can suggest things and will work with them.

when I get this challenge figured out I will definitely give everyone a look at it and if there are any changes or additions hope you feel free to comment.

today is going to be a busy one. I need to get ready to go to the big city as hubby wants to go and I need to go with him this time.

had snow, sleet, freezing rain and then the temps raised through the night and then had rain. there is ice in places. when I fed the out door kitties I had used my new pair of ice cleats on my boots and they gripped the ice pretty good. I just hope the big city is ice free. temps are supposed to be I think in the 40's today. it is beautiful out there right now.
well, must get moving and take Panda out potty and see if I can walk on the walk to go and get the mail.

another day of snow so my exercise was shoveling-more coming Tomorrow. I really don't mind it right now, living in MN we are supposed to get snow and we don't get like we did when I was a kid.
My eating was good today. I didn't do a DVD today as the arthritis in my hip doesn't like it when I wear anything besides my tennis for an extened period of time and today I was wearing boots for the day. Tomorrow I will bring my shoes to work.

Well I didn't do well on Sunday, but back on track today. Had my weigh for the work challenge and I was down 1 pound.
We got some snow today so after dinner I went out and did some shoveling. I did a 2 mile power walking DVD this afternoon.

Whatever Pandabear wants to put together will be fine with me ... I'm already 'ready' to start a new challenge and this one hasn't even ended yet - ha! So that's PROGRESS for me personally even ...looking FORWARD to a 'challenge'...who ever knew I'd be doing that???

I do hope we continue throughout 2017 ... I'd REALLY like to make a LASTING difference in my health and weight this year!!!! I love the support here and encouragement we give each other ... while we each work it out in our own ways/plans!

I like your ideas- I think if there are too many people don;t always like to that much reporting.
We could small steps pick 2 for the first week, add 1 more each week. If you go 2 months that would get all the goals you mentioned. At the end of each week you can give out goodies for the top 3 winners of the week according to the points they collected. Make each one worth 5 pts. Just a thought! emoticon

My Saturday was good, I didn't over eat or eat bad. I got in my exercise. Now for today.
I made my menu for the week and got to the store so I am set.

Been playing around with another idea for our 1-10 scale ... maybe we could give ourselves 'points' for achieving certain goals daily such as: sleep 8 hours, drink min glasses water (whatever 'number' you want to set it at), exercise 10 min daily minimum, eat only foods within plan, do something to de-stress, read something inspirational, post here on the team, etc. That's about all I can think of at the moment - so that's 8 ... just an idea. Others could add their input or we could 'save' 2 points to personalize specific to ourselves.

I didn't get up and walk yesterday morning ... I do better when I exercise first thing. I 'planned' on doing yoga and/or a Walk Away the Pounds dvd 'later' ... well, later never came. I know I would have felt better had I just done it!!!!!!

I did emotional eating when I got home from work due to stress.I know I should have gone and exercised but I was tired and took a nap. I think if I would of listened to my head and worked out I would have felt better in the long run.

You poor ladies and the heat and rain come on over here it is below 0 day 2 and they are saying it will be cold again tomorrow. No walking outside for me. emoticon
I was feeling pretty good this afternoon and pushed myself and did an intense power walking DVD-45 minutes. My hip hurt when I was done-Ibuprofen to the rescue.
Ate good today and tracked my food and got in my water.

Panda good that your dog got a walk even in the rain, my dogs just go out and do their thing and come back in no hanging outside these days. DJ glad you are feeling better and didn't get what I have. Dj that is really neat that you picked up trash on your walk.

We are all doing good now the tough time is coming-the weekend my big downfall.

Well, for whatever reason I did not get ANY sleep Tuesday night, and by time to get up I felt like I was coming down with 'something' so I canceled walking, took my 'cold/flu' drink and stayed in bed. Did the trick. Today I was fine and walked. My neighbor and her girls couldn't go so I went by myself - I took a bag with me to pick up trash off the side of the road(s) - discovered 'our road' was the trashiest! That slowed me down a bit. It was hot, NO BREEZE and I had forgotten my water bottle so I did a shorter walk.

I forgot to weigh in yesterday too - so I'll just wait till next Tuesday - my regular weigh-in day.

Pandabear - does this Challenge end on the 15th?

Woke up today and wasn't achy so took OTC meds and went to work. The cold pills didn't work and my nose ran all day.They don't have soft tissues so my nose is sore and red. CAme home and took an allergy med and it cleared me up so that is what I will do again tomorrow.
Went walking at the mall with my sister tonight.
I had to get weighed today for the challenge at work, they did it in the afternoon after I ate my late lunch and was wearing jeans. Oh well I will wear my thin pants next week when I have to weigh in again.
My eating was good and way under in calories, but I am not hungry to eat more.
DJ glad to hear you got out for a walk and feeling better.

Hope you feel BETTER SOON Candy!

Weigh in for me was 'supposed' to be today but I forgot. I'll weigh in tomorrow morning BUT if I forget again I'll wait till next week.

Getting back on track - went walking with neighbor yesterday and today. Will be walking M-F. My ankle feels absolutely fine ... my knees not so much but NOT as bad as they were ... not yet anyway - ha!

Daisy has been 'kept inside' today which she is not too happy about but dh painted the flooring on our lanai ... it was a hot 81 degrees so the paint should have dried ... he'll be putting a 2nd coat on later this weekend. We should be able to go out in a little while ... Daisy must think she's being punished or something!!!!

I'm doing 'okay' on my new eating plan ... want to monitor my blood pressure on it though and make sure it doesn't start creeping up for any reason - of course I forgot to do THAT today too!

Think I left my memory back in '16??????

Had a good day. Got in some strength exercises today-30minutes, tracked my food and got in lots of water. Being sick and for how much water I have had today you would think I would be spending most of the day in the bathroom but no.

I wasn't feeling good took some ibuprofen and that took away the achyness and I did a 2 mile power walking DVD. emoticon
I spent most of my day working on my jig saw puzzle-almost done and will put up a new one.
My eating wasn't too bad, I did track it and got in my water.
No work today so I will take it easy again to try and shake this cold or whatever it is.
We have a snow/ice storm coming in today will get my running done before it hits and than will stay in till work tomorrow.

Panda glad you were able to get out for a walk I am sure Panda enjoyed it.

Candy...I hope your work day goes smoothly. snacks sound good.

I did finally get a walk in with Panda today. weather was 40 F. and sunny and the ice was melting so a walk was calling me to come and of course all I have to ask Panda is if she wants a walk and she is ready. had to put her boots on her so she doesn't get the road salt on her paws and lick it off or dry out her paws. went to church this morning. was lazy some also today. I had the munchies all day. have been trying to fight the temptation of snacking. I think I will get up soon and make some popcorn in the hot air popper.

Happy New Year!

I work in a day program fo people with disabilities. My day starts at 7:45a and ends at 2:15p except on Fridays when you are done at 1:45p. Our lunch is 15 min.
When I did my shopping for yesterdays meal I picked up pretzel thins which I will count out and put in a bag and grapes. I might have to get another lunch bag for my snacks, keep my grapes cool.
The challenges were member created challenges, I have done the ones by spark-sweet tooth, skinny jeans etc. they are good and you can get kicked out.
I didn't track my food yesterday as I would have been way over and not all that I ate was good for me.
I am catching something didn't feel right yesterday but now this morning I really don't have a voice and my chest is really tight.

Starting off 2017 strong- let's do this.

Candy - what time does your work day start/what type job do you have (if you don't mind my asking)? That does sound weird about changing your lunch time. How long is your lunch? If it's bumped up to your quitting time it seems you should just be able to leave. I'd be 'reacting' to all this ... but agree with Pandabear ... try not to think about it too much over the weekend ... but I'd go prepared with some snacks too!

I like our challenge ... don't really think it needs 'much' tweaking at all - ha! I'd never last on a team like you referred to Candy - I'd be kicked off in no time - ha!

Pandabear - I like that our team challenge here is a 'realistic' one ... working on our main goals/better habit formation ... having a place to come to be accountable and encouraged ... but realistic in that we know we are ALL going to hit our targets some days/weeks and others not due to whatever reasons. But no problem ... because we are all 'still here' supporting and understanding!

Candy...I think I would be upset also with the change going to happen at work and wondering how things will work out and you have the weekend to get through before you do find out. try not to think about it and have a good weekend. good idea to take some healthy snacks you may be able to grab quickly. let us know how things work out.

I like our challenge- I have done one on spark where you join a team and they are intense and if you mess up in reporting more than 2 days you are out.
Making me be accountable for my food, and getting in exercise are my big things. We can just do an ongoing one with check offs like we have been doing: stay within calorie range, get in 8 glasses of water, move 10 minutes or more, good attitude..
My work day was good, got a bonus check which I didn't expect. We also got news about our lunch breaks when we return in Jan. our breaks will not start at 1:30p. Tis really doesn't make sense as I am done with my job at 2:15p. This is a far cry from lunch at 9:30a. Not sure how this is going to work out-guess we will see. I will have to pack myself some snack type items to keep in the room that I can sneak when I get hungry.
I cam home from work stressed and started to look for things to eat. I took my granddaughter out shopping just to get out of the house for awhile.
Well the weekend is here-wishing us all luck getting through this holiday.

it is so nice to have the support of each other.
well, we have a couple of weeks to maybe a month to get another challenge up.
I think one would be nice for spring to get us ready for summer (those of us who live in cold weather with snow and ice).

I would definitely like another challenge here on the team. I know Spark has challenge teams that are open for joining periodically - I've never joined any of those yet - they seem too 'intense' to me I guess? I like having the 'structure' of coming here for accountability and support.

I like basic challenges ... the focus on developing good habits in exercising, drinking water ... while keeping an eye on food 'choices' ... maybe we could 'expand' the 1-10 rating to include range definitions - as in 1=BLEW IT (ha!), 2=GOING DOWNHILL, 3=GETTING OFF TRACK, 4=STRUGGLING, 5=EVERYTHING OKAY, 6=DOING WELL, 7=DOING GOOD, 8=DOING GREAT, 9=ALMOST 100%, 10=PERFECTO!!!! or something to that effect - I'm not really good at coming up with stuff like this - ha!

Sorry I don't have any 'new' suggestions/goals ... my mind is just not cooperating - I've had frustrating computer probs this morning and those just DRAIN ME. In fact, so much so I'm getting off for a while - ha! To recoup!

DJ...I had this I guess it could be considered a cold from I think wreath making and just really over doing it. I seem to get sick almost every work season. I had a nasty something this spring after seedlings that lasted for a month. I guess my system gets so run down from pushing myself to get everything done and....I know I worked days and was so cold at work as the temp in the work area was very cold. I don't want to get into things so I will just end here on my cold and being cold.

I have taken it easy the last 2 days. I want to get rid of this cough now. I can't sit around for to long as I just need to get up and get moving when I start feeling better.

Candy...glad you had a relaxing day today. flu shots can help. I have had a flu shot every year since I think 2008. also another way to help ward off germs is washing your hands before you eat or put them close to your eyes or nose. I think my problem is my system just got very run down. I worked 7 days a week since before Thanksgiving and under tons of stress....excellent for getting sick.

now a question for everyone. are you interested in another challenge? if so what would you like it to include? I haven't actually thought that far in advance as my body and brain are starting to get back to a normal less stress life. my muscles are actually restless like,
I guess they are just starting to relax.

I had a nice easy day at work-after the last 2 it was nice to have a relaxing day. There is some kind of bug going around where I work, I haven't gotten it but many people have. This is the first year I have gotten a flu shot. Last I got the flu and it was bad, never want to be that sick again.
My food intake was good today-there are still bagels and cookies at work, I had a cookie.
I did a L.S. power walking DVD it included strength training and I used 1 & 2 pound weights.

Looking ahead to New Years- we always do a surf and turf dinner-told hubby not to buy too much seafood, we don't need lots of food. I can do really good during the week but weekends I seem to fall apart.

Panda I hope you are feeling better-take care of yourself.

Pandabear and Candy - seems like we're getting our attitudes and momentum going back in the right direction again! A good thing!!!!

Hope your sore throat is feelin' better today Pandabear! Now that your Christmas rush is over it's not the time to get sick ... it's the time to ENJOY a bit of a slower pace!!!!

Candy - detoxing is good periodically. I just read the other day suggestions about doing a detox at the end of seasons or something ... or on a schedule like at the end of December, March, June, and September. The article also suggested a detox is good right prior to starting a new 'diet or eating plan' ... it will prepare one's system to be optimally receptive to the 'new way'. I did a detox not long ago through Ayurveda protocol ... I might consider doing it again at the end of March.

Well, let's all have a really good day today ... and Pandabear - I was wondering ... are you planning on continuing with a challenge after this one concludes on Jan 15th? I have really been enjoying participating on this one!

today was a lazy day for me. trying to get rid of this cold or something. napped off and on today. breakfast was good with my oatmeal, lunch was just pick something as not much interested me and supper was pizza. think i'll make me some hot coffee to drink to help soothe my sore throat. did do some laundry today. 4th and last load in the dryer right now. washer and dryer in basement. hung 2 loads out on the line in the basement.

Another good day for me. I did have a bagel from a bagel shop but other than that I did good with my eating, got in my water and 2nd day getting in over 10k in steps.

It sounds like we have a good start for the new year.

My daughter just got done with a 3 day detox and lost 4 pounds. She did a protein shake in the morning along with 2 eggs and 1/2 orange. THe rest of the day is protein and greens as much as you like and you need to drink 80 oz of water. This is basically the Slim Genics prep. Her protein shake is taken from spark-made with almond milk.
I just might have to give this a try.

I actually did a little better today. had 2 egg mcmuffins from McDonalds for breakfast. did lots of walking. took son to train station and walked up 2 flights of steps over the road in an enclosed walk way then back down the steps to the train track. waited with son until he boarded the train and the train left then we had to walk the steps back over the walk way over the road and back down the steps and to the car. we went shopping to several stores and did lots of walking in the stores. now I'm finishing up my 3rd load of laundry. must go and put the last load into the dryer. had a sandwich for lunch and ate sensible for supper. hopefully I will do as well if not better tomorrow.

Had a pretty good day. I pack my lunch for work but lunch is early. I went on the outing and it was walking at the mall. I got in 30 minutes of walking and when I got home from work I did a 30 power walking DVD.
Tracked my food and got in my water. I have finished off the truffles so there really isn't anything in the house that I really can't say "No" to. I just need to say "No".
I feel pretty good about my 2nd day-there are still some flaws but I am doing a lot better than I have been.

For those who stayed on track during the holidays - GREAT JOB!

For those who strayed off the track a bit and got back on - GREAT JOB!

For those of us who FELL OFF the track tee-totally and have yet gotten back on - but STILL HERE - well, that's a GREAT JOB too ... in not giving up/giving in totally!

We can do this ... get back to our goals and the challenge ... it goes through Jan 15th which will give us a good start in the New Year!!!!!!

Candy...it was wonderful you went to lunch with your sister. you did better than me for today. this time of the year we do go off track. me I have been off track lots.

I have some different size baggies in my purse so I can bring some of the extras home for another day. yes, I would not have left the 7 layer bars either. yum on the truffles. I have learned to have maybe on or 2 bites of chocolate or sweets. I put most of my chocolate in the freezer so I don't see it all the time and want to stuff myself with it. did some after the holiday shopping and picked up a few boxes of candy. hubby needs to eat it he is so skinny. I have so much candy in the freezer from last year. son got me candied orange slices and grapefruit slices. you can just see the sugar on them. I never had anything like this before. tasted them and they could be addicting, but I need to watch.

I actually have had 2 bad days of pigging out and I wouldn't even know how to track all I ate. the only good meal most days is breakfast and it is oatmeal with peanut butter, the rest of the days have gone down hill after breakfast. I guess Tuesday will be another bad day and breakfast will also be a bad one. it probably be breakfast at McDonalds and of course egg mcmuffins. don't get them that much. will be taking son to catch the train back to NYC in the morning and we will grab breakfast close to the train station.

The last Monday of 2016- no work for me today.
I talked about the challenge at work that starts 1/3, but because of my bad habits of late I figured I should start a week early. I just read some spark articles for motivation. I will set up daily goals see if smaller goals will help me get back on track
I did a 20 minute power walking DVD and 20 minutes of strength today.

Track my food even if it isn't good for me.

I will check in at the end of my day.

Well I was doing well, did 40 minutes of exercises. Went out for coffee with my sister and the wait was long and we ended up doing lunch. I did good. Well they were so busy they forgot about us so they brought over 2 small 7 layer bars for each of us. Couldn't leave them.
Found a bag of truffles that I got for Christmas so they are open and I am helping myself.
Will try not to be too bad.

Aloha Everybody!

Well Candy, I'm here still 'in' the Challenge in spirit certainly but cannot claim I am doing it very successfully ... which is okay. There will be days - maybe even weeks - when I'm off track but who knows when I'll get back on and it will 'click' again and I'll be good to go for days and maybe even weeks - ha! So I just keep pluckin' at it. For example, I posted on the 21st I was back on ... well, on the 22nd I went so waaaaay off it's not even funny (well, in retrospect it kinda IS - ha!).

I ate everything yesterday that was not nailed down. Don't know why - I'm not stressed, not under holiday pressure, etc. Everything's fine (excepting ME evidently - ha!). I started eating at 3 am (woke up early 'hungry') ... I ended up binging ALL DAY LONG ... nothing could satisfy me. I'm surprised I did not get sick. My dh didn't even try to step in and 'suggest' I might be slightly deranged - ha! Guess I had that 'look' in my eye and he knew better - ha!

These things happen - well, to me anyway. I just have to start over the next day ... or if I'm less deranged I can manage to start over the next meal, or snack attack, or hour or minute.

Good you have a new challenge to look forward to on 1/3 ... but feel free certainly to still participate here if you'd like.

Pandabear - I don't know how you possibly COULD do the Challenge with your holiday biz crunch ... I give you credit for showing up here at all! I can't imagine how tired you must be. Hopefully you can wind down a bit now and relax and ENJOY the holiday weekend????

I plan on 'doing better' today - which should NOT be hard after yesterday's little fiasco - ha! I won't even say 'get back on track' ... but inching my way towards it.

Candy...i'm in the same boat you are in. lately i haven't been doing to good. am very stressed and can add some depression to it, because of personal life. i have been stress eating lately and i need to get back on track, i will try.

Candy...don't beat yourself...just do the best that you can . try and get through it just one day at a time and if that don't work one hour at a time and many days i just have to get through it a minute at a time. Glad you are doing something and good luck with the challenge at work. let us know how you make out.

i haven't had time to post as i liked to do because of lack of time and energy to be on computer. well, i must get moving and head off to get some work done.

I feel bad for dropping out on the challenge. I haven't been good with my eating. I am an emotional eater and the stress has been high.
I did join a challenge at work starting the 1/3- my plan is to get through this weekend and than get my poop in a group and get ready.
I admire you two for sticking with it.

Well, it took me a few more days than I imagined to get back on track but made a good start of it yesterday. Hopefully to continue today and onward! Yesterday was my weekly weigh-in, did not lose/but did not gain! Whew!

I'm feeling stronger 'mentally' about all this ... want to finish this Challenge STRONG! I am so thankful you started this challenge Pandabear ...I'm sure 'without it' I would have been well on my way to regaining 10 or more pounds this holiday season giving in/giving up trying when it got tough. WITH THE CHALLENGE ... I may have slipped or strayed a little but I DID NOT GIVE UP! Thank you!!!!!!!!! and thanks to the TEAM ... all the support helps!

DJ...good attitude about not being down or depressed. we should not beat ourselves up when we get off track. we just need to get back on track even if it one thing at a time. even just trying to make good choices. I understand because that is what I end up doing.

last night I pigged out on pizza and boy was that good. I'm not upset I did make better choice for my night time snack. I don't usually snack through the day only in the evening.

must get ready and head off to work. had freezing rain early this morning. temps raising and will get better. I have ice cleats and have them on my boots so will be fine I hope.

Thanks Sue! I know I'll get back 'on track' soon (maybe today? ha!) ... I 'feel' like I'm almost there mentally I guess ... I, at least, haven't gone crazy off track like I used to in the past - eating anything and everything - ha! Just not quite doing things as well as I could. Not down or depressed about it ... ironically it's kind of having the reverse effect in my mind ... I'm thinking more positively about what I know I need to do/can do/ and will do ... once I get started back that is - ha!

None of that may have made any sense ... but my excuse is it's 3:30 a.m. Woke up and couldn't go back to sleep.

DJ...been thinking of you and wondering if you took another break. I know about still trying to get back on track. I unfortunately pigged out with supper tonight. it has been so cold here lately. feet are still cold and I have warm slippers on. it was cold working the last 2 days. could get freezing rain through the night tonight.

have been way to busy and don't spend much time on the computer. lately have come home from making wreaths and don't want to eat, but I do because I know I have to. DH cooks and my choices might not be what he chose to cook. I weighed myself on Friday morning and had a surprise of another pound down.

this is the start of a new week so I will try to do better tis week. I guess the only healthy meal I have is breakfast which consist of oatmeal w/peanut butter and milk and half caf coffee with milk and a touch of flavored creamer.

Congrats on your weight loss ANNMH! I may have to do something similar to what you are ... plan out my meals and stick to it. Right now winging it is not working out. Neither is my 'intention' of getting back on track ... guess I can talk a good talk but walking it? eh? Not so much... grrrrrrrrrrrr...

I already 'messed up' this morning (if I had had a good breakfast planned I can see I would have had better chances of following through) ...

but the day is not OVER ... so we'll see ...

DJBTOO I understand. If I want to stick to the plan, I have to plan out my meals for the day. This seems to keep the calories down.

After breakfast I defrost what I will have for lunch. If the portion is to big, I cook it all and eat similar meal for dinner. This planning keeps me from snacking in between meals. Have lost 3 lbs since start of challenge.

Boy it seems we all are thinking the same thing. I was going to post that I need to get myself back on track and do it with little steps-do 1 good thing each day and as I get going to add.
The big one is tracking my food-
1st obstacle- family get together today and there will be good food. Can I be good with my food choices.

For today I will be very conscious of my eating, trying to over eat.

right now my brain isn't working to well...it wants to go to sleep. I was wondering if there is a get off the track virus happening.

I guess one small daily goal for me is to try and reduce the daily stress. that is my big eating and getting off track for me. will see what Saturday will bring.

Did we all catch the 'get off track' virus or something??????? Seems maybe we did!

Well, we KNOW the cure ... it's within us ... and emoticon

We may need to make 'specific' mini-goals though to get back on track. Mine for today are:

1. Drink minimum of 8 glasses of water
2. Eat 3 meals
3. No foods that are 'off' plan
4. No freezer fudge tonight (I went on a slight fudge binge last night! emoticon

I 'would' put something down for exercise - but it is still raining - and hard to do inside this motor home - not impossible - but hard. I want to focus on things I CAN DO/ACCOMPLISH today so I'll end the day FEELING better about GETTING BACK ON TRACK ... if I put the exercise down as a goal today I 'almost know' I won't meet it ... so opting NOT to have a negative from the get-go - ha! If that makes any sense at all...

I need some POSITIVES to reach for that I CAN ACHIEVE... TODAY!!!!!

I'll add the exercise in a few days when weather clears and ankle is better too.

So - anyone join me for mini-goals to get back on track? What are yours?

I have not been keeping up with posting on the challenge thread, not keeping up with my program. Finding too many excuses at the end of the day. Not sure what it will take. I do eat a healthy breakfast and lunch it is when I get home and have time on my hands.

DJ...I like peanut butter in my oatmeal for breakfast.

I need to heed your words also. I have been struggling with everything also and not getting back on track either. I know it is because I have been so busy and tired that I just put the easiest thing into my mouth. most of the orders are done and the ladies have been laid off and now I work by myself. today was the first day I got to sleep in and relax this morning. something I needed so much. getting way to many tempting things and unfortunately I'm having a hard time resisting. had a cup cake on Monday and half a cinnamon roll today for lunch. I must get back on track. Wednesday will be a new day.

ANNMH150 - you touched on something I've been experiencing the past few months. I have been overeating as well ... all 'healthy' foods and foods within my eating plan ... which is better than in the past when it was junk food - ha! BUT - it's still overeating! I need to be more mindful of this and work on it some more.

I love oatmeal ... I even eat it with salsa on it ... I know, a bit weird, but hey - some mornings I want a 'spicy' breakfast - ha! In fact, I've found oatmeal is a good 'base' grain to put all kinds of veggies in as well with an egg on top ...

I like to explore using foods in non-traditional ways...

So it's MONDAY - a new week and our challenge is counting down ... holidays will soon be past us ... it's not the time to get lazy about this - ha! Let's see if we can put/keep more focus on what we're doing right ...

My number one 'doing right' going forward is I'm starting each day FRESH ... with no thought to how I might of 'messed up' the day before. I have a clean slate starting this morning ... now to keep it that way!!!!!

End of year challenge is moving along for me. I stumble a little - overeat healthy food portions that exceeds daily calories. Added more soups to my menu, good for weather changes and feeling full.

Have stocked up on dry goods - oatmeal is good protein source. If I think I am going to be
out for any length of time, I put a granola bar in my purse.

this time of year is stressful to everyone. I'm in the same boat with the stress and stress eating. this weekend had been super stressful and yes, those potato chips sure were comfort food for me. I need to get back on track also. another stressful day tomorrow coming up for me. all I can do is get through one day at a time right now.

Past two days been getting off track ... not eating enough, not eating regular meals, not enough water, no exercise, snacking (which I normally try not to do - especially snacking lieu of eating meals!) ... you name it - ha! Only good thing is I'm not eating foods that are 'off' my plan.

Hope I can get December going right! Will 'start' again tomorrow!

so glad to see everyone keeping up with the challenge.

Candy...hope you had a good day with your sister. we all need a fun day.

thank you for thinking of me. hopefully after next week things will slow down for me at work and then I can start with some cleaning at home. employees were off today. I had a busy day. took the stray kitty to the vets to get spayed. helped hubby load the truck with wreaths to take to the place we wholesale to. then in the afternoon put together 2 kissing balls out of fraiser fir greens. will shape and put berries on them tomorrow. these are special orders. then after closing changed shirt and went to pick up my kitty from the vets. she is sleeping of the anesthesia. I'm ready for bed also, but have to wait to feed the indoor cats.

A new month- good I ended Nov. with a bad day of eating. Not sure why I did it except I was home alone last night and I didn't like that. No one saw what I ate so no calories emoticon I did track the food I ate.
Today I took the day off from work -my sister and I go shopping at a certain store every year and out to eat. Today is the day. We are going out for breakfast and than shopping. I should get in lots of steps.
Cant believe it is December. Pandabear don't work too hard, keeping you in my thoughts. Icecub great job getting working out

Had a good day 11/29. My exercise was during commercials I would get up and walk/jog in place. Not much but it got me moving.
My lunch that I packed yesterday wasn't enough calories and around 1pm I was getting light headed and shaky. the only thing to eat was Tootsie rolls, I had 3, they were small. I came home and boiled some eggs so I will add that today and see how that helps. The problem is I have my lunch at 9:30a or 9:45a. makes for a long afternoon till I get home for a smart snack.
