Ok, I've made a NEW GOAL for those of you who are too busy to post it twice. I don't care which one you use or use both - up to you.

It seemed to me that more people chose 1200 minutes for themselves, so that's what I went with. BUT the Team's overall goal is still 12,500 for the month of August.

When using the New Goal you only enter the information under the "My Fitness" tab found under "My Tools", BUT each person's fitness is NOT listed like under our previously setup Cardio Goal.

I thought the same thing... Maybe the techy people should take a look at that... It's really hard for me to sit at the computer every day, since we're gearing up for back to school and soccer for my 3 year old!!

I was going to set it up to do that, but then I'd have to make a new goal every month & ya'll would have to rejoin every month, so I thought "well, it's a little more work for everyone but I'm forgetful" so I went this route. Hope ya'll don't mind! Plus I really like seeing what everyone has contributed! lol

I just joined! I also didn't know you had to hit the + to add the minutes to the goal, I thought they just magically transferred from my fitness page!

ok Iv been crunching numbers thinking about how much time I want to dedicate to exercise and our team goal. I was thinking I would commit to 40min a day of cardio. That would be about 1,200 for the month.
I'm going out of town next week but they have a treadmill at my mom's house so it should be a realistic goal for me to get 40min of exercise in.

I have to remember to stop and think.

MacMan got me on this bandwagon also. I've been going to Curves at least 3 times each week for about 45 minutes each visit. I've also been trying to get motivated on the weekend to do at least 30 minutes each day on my treadmill. So, I guess I've found my motivation!! (Thanks, MacMan! )

My Goal for August: 800 minutes (200 per week)

I'm house sitting for some people with a swimming pool for the next month so I will be putting in ATLEAST 30 minutes to an hour swimming daily and then i will start basketball practice in two weeks which is 4 hours a week plus whatever i do at home!

OR on the Team's home page you can scroll to the bottom of the page to the Goal Section & click the Join button next to the different goals you want to join. More than one way is always a good thing!

I know of two people who didn't know that you had to go to "My Tools" and then "Other Goals" and then click on the "+" to enter your minutes so that they will count toward our team challenge. I post this just in case there are others.

Good news - I know of two more people who will be joining our team soon. They're great just like the rest of you, so I'm sure they'll fit in nicely!

Hey team!

The NWA team train is ready to roll! August starts tomarrow and the momentum is building. I've had a revelation: My goal was only 700 minutes. I've logged in over 700 minutes in July while being a combination of injured and lazy. I'm gonna push myself. My personal goal - 1,000 minutes.

12,500 here we come!!!

If any of you personally know anyone else who is on our team or needs to be on our team, please encourage them to join us & the team goal!

Nobody HAS to go on our walks with us, we just enjoy it so much and want to always invite everyone. We are not trying to force anyone into joining us on our little weekly excursions, simply working in some cardio where we can.

I'll pledge 1400 minutes toward the team goal

Not sure that I will get to do the swimming thing so I am only gonna count what i should for sure be able to get in...so for the month of August I am looking for 1400 minutes. Woot! Ok, MacMan got me on this bandwagon. I am already logging minutes but I am starting to do 60 mins instead of 45. longer on the weekends. I will do my best to help as much as I can. :)

I have been trying to do 45-60 per day but some days I just don't quite make it. I plan on doing every thing in my power once the kids start back to school to do 60+ minutes per day!

Okay okay - so I've not done ANY exercise for the past few weeks. Life gets in the way, you know? So, I'm here to restart - got a new video from netflix today and am ready to start again. I'm doing well, but need the exercise and I can always use the motivation. I know Sunday (sorry folks) i'm going hiking around LAKE FAYETTEVILLE with the ladies from work. I'm a shy person so I'm going to start with them first. We're starting at 9, if anyone cares to join us then. I promise to do better - not for just the team, but for myself too. I need this more than anyone knows. I have to restart my life and there's no better time than the present to start! So, count me in....just know I'm working 2 jobs and finding time is difficult. I think I'm going to start Salsa dancing though. There are lessons in Fayetteville on Friday nights and it's only $10 a lesson. Not bad for 3 or 4 hours of dancing! That's gotta be some MAJOR calories to be burned!

I'm in!!! Always! Let's go! I am gonna shoot for 30 min a day for 6 days which is 180 min and then on Sunday my normal 180 min which comes out to 360 min per week...monthly 1440. And if I start with Paula on the swim thing that will be an additional 30 min times 5 days....another 150 times 4 equals 600 min added to the 1440 is 2040. So, I am gonna shoot for 2000 min the month of August if I get to do the swimming thing. Does that sound good? Boy that was a lot of number figuring, lol? Did I lose myself or anyone else?

If we ALL work as a team we can obliterate the goal of 12,500. There are 72 members of our team. Granted, not all of them are logging on regularly, but even so... With 72 members each person would need to do less than three hours of exercise in the entire month. You're putting in more than 6 hours each week not counting your Sunday walk/hike/bike.

Step #1 Recruiting - We need to recruit as many people as possible from our team to join this challenge. I signed up today.

Step #2 Challenge Ourselves - Each person needs to set their own personal fitness goal (# of minutes)

Step #3 Encourage Each Other - We need to consistently encourage each other to meet our personal goals. This will be a great way to get to know each other better. Maybe as a short term goal we can each strive to personally encourage at least three people we haven't met yet.

Step #4 Record the Progress- We must remind each other to post our progress.

If we do these things - nothing can stop us from reaching our goal. After all, we are Northwest Arkansas Sparkers.

Mac I think the current 8,700 is the highest ever. Our first goal for June was 5,000 and we hit it pretty quickly & I bumped up the goal to 7,500 and we hit that too. July we were trying to push ourselves, but maybe it was a little too ambitious of us to try for 12,500 when not everybody was logging.

I'm thinking about leaving it at 12,500 as I have an exercise plan in place for myself a minimum M-F daily of 45 min swimming and 30-60 daily of Zumba workout at home. In addition to our Sunday walk/hike/bike that we're getting in almost weekly now.

Think we can hit the 12,500 with our current posters?

Hey team,
I'm sorry I've not helped much. But my leg has healed so I can run again. I've done runs of 3,3,3,4.5,and 5 miles without any problems these last eight days. I'll be doing another 5 today. I'm planning on keeping this up, so count on me for at least 700 minutes in August.

Nikki, at the bottom of our Team page is a list of the Team Goals. You have to join them and then put in, then each time you exercise you'll need to enter it in there to give the team "credit" toward our goal. Please join us & you'll get to help us out for August!

Everyone please be sure to log all your exercise minutes in so we can see what we really hit this month... I'm a little bummed out that we didn't get this, but I know I didn't contribute as much as I would have liked to either.

Give me some suggestions for August goal. School will be starting at most area schools on the 18 & this may have an effect on our minutes we can put in! Help! Suggestions please
