This is sad, I haven't done any major walking since the 5th. I need to get my butt outside and walk, but its hard to do when the weather is bad or so cold you can't stand to be outside in it!!

Just to let ya'll know.... I've made getting the 10,000 steps per day a Team Goal! Now you can simply click the little check box when you put in your cardio minutes if you met this goal or not. I probably won't be posting to this thread anymore... simply checking the box instead - plus you get a SparkPoint for it there too!

Tuesday I forgot my pedometer & that's the night we always go to the gym for mega steps. oh well. Tonight we're supposed to go to the gym too, but Ron's going to the chiropractor to get checked out so I've tried talking him into just sitting in the hot tub/sauna or swimming. we'll see how that goes.

I'm working harder at this...I took a peek at my July total steps and data and I am pretty excited about it. So, this month of August I am gonna try to download my info every day and watch my stats to keep me even more motivated. I have over 300,000 steps for the month of July! And, I am gonna commit to 30 min daily aerobic exercise the month of August so I can see on my pedometer at least 30 min of continuous activity....it amazes me that I can get 10,000 steps and still have 0 aerobic steps. I wonder if that means that all those steps really don't help since they are not aerobic??? Hmmmmm.

We had a health crisis with my dad so we spent most of the day over there. He is doing better now, we told him to get up out of bed make his self eat or we were going to put his butt back in the hospital, so he got up and guess what, it made him feel better. I need to get better at logging this daily even when I don't get enough steps. It is better to log it daily and not have to play catch up, lol.... I am doing better at getting my steps. I try to walk with my sis on M, T, W and now I have my elliptical out of the garage and in the house so I can focus on getting more steps/exercise even in the evening when it is dark outside. I was gonna sell it and now I am so happy I have it to get my extra steps in with it. I should do the Wii Fit more often but I usually don't do it that much b/c someone is always watching tv and it is more fun if others are doing it with you than by yourself. But I am like Paula....I gotta do this for myself and not keep waiting for others to push me to get it done....

I can understand fustration with this challenge. I have only made it because of the treadmill at home is working.

Paula~ It is harder than one thinks to get 10,000 steps...don't get frustrated or give up. The step challenge is here just to help us focus on trying to be more active. I haven't been getting my steps in lately either. But, if I can get 5,000 I am still happy about it. Hang in there girlie! The thing that bothers me the most is that even when I get a bunch of steps I sometimes have zero aerobic steps....it makes me feel lazy and like the steps I got weren't good enough b/c they weren't aerobic...

Paula I think its that you weigh less than I do. I'm still at around 200lbs so that is where I feel the difference is. I know I need to work on eating better so I can lose weight. Its like who cares how many Kcal you burn IF you haven't lost weight? I get all of this exercise but I have not been on an eating plan. I'm really thinking that I want to do WW with you so that I can have an actual flexible plan that will work if I work it. Mine worked alright BUT something new and the "in your face" as you put it weightl0ss approach may just be what I need also. I do a spot check on my weight from time to time to make sure that I have the right weight programmed into pedometer. That way its more accurate.

I went to the gym at lunch yesterday & STILL didn't meet the challenge!

I did pretty good today but did have to get after it in the later part of the day due to the rain. It feels good to do this and accomplish this. Especially when I know I have not been following my eating plan worth anything. I have still eating poorly and too late in the morning. Emotional eating really sucks. Most people only eat when they are sad/depressed or happy the other way around. I personally like to eat all of the time BUT when I am stressed its a gazillion times worse for me. I swear I am an sugar/carboholic...........I'll get it in control again. Good thing is my body is still benefiting from the exercise. :) At least I got that going for me. Plus I have been drinking water so that is two things. Two good things that I have done for me. Now all I have to do is get the 3rd (eating patterns) under control and I'll be on my way!


Sherry don't worry about not getting the 10000 today. All you can do is work for it tomorrow. I know the rain was a big thing with keeping you inside. Just shoot for tomorrow! I'm glad you have joined us with this challenge. :) On to the 10th!

My treadmill is acting up again. Not sure what is the deal with it. I hopped on it yesterday for it to work only for 20min before stopping on me.
