Good lesson! Thanks for taking the time to share. I always get so much out of what you have to say.

I can do anything I want to if Christ has not said no, but some of these things aren't good for me. Even if I am allowed to do them, I'll refuse to if I think they might get such a grip on me that I can't easily stop when I want to. For instance, take the matter of eating. God has given us an appetite for food and stomachs to digest it. But that doesn't mean we should eat more than we need. Don't think of eating as important, because some day God will do away with both stomachs and food.

Hello and praise the Lord my friends and welcome to the memory verse for the week of May 2.

I know I am a little late with the verse this week, but it is through the grace and will of God that I post these and I wait for the Lord to give me the word before I post so that I know that it is the word of God and not mine.

Father God, I thank You for Your Word and for the blessing and honor of sharing it with Your children. I pray that you continue to use me for Your glory.
In Jesus Name

This week's verse come form Galatians 5:1:
"Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage."

When we were in the world, we were under the bondage of sin. No matter how we thought we lived our lives or how good we were, we were under the bondage of death and were going straight to hell. But through the grace of God and the shedding of Christ's Blood, we were made free and now will live with Jesus forever.
But sometimes it seems that we lean back to the old ways. We start to walk towards the bondage from which we escaped. For some of us, it is going back to the world. Drinking, drugging and whatever other sinful things we used to do. But for others, it can take a less oblivious route. We can sometimes go back to the old ways of thinking we knew before we came to Christ. You know what I mean. Before Christ, we never thought about keeping our thoughts captive and in line. We just let any old thought run through our heads and most likely acted on them. But when Jesus cleansed our souls, we learned a new way of thinking. We learned that we had power and grace and love from the Father and that caused us to be and to think in a more positive way! Praise God!

But for some of us, we seem to be going back to the old way of thinking. We have a problem and we try to deal with it on our own power. We think of ways to make things better. Or we think of ways to get even. Or we think of ways to just get along. But we forget to think about bringing it to God. We go back to the old bondage of fear and worry. We begin to doubt that God can fix what is broken. We don't believe that He can restore what the enemy has taken. We start to think that there is something we can do that God can't. And let me tell you my friends, that is as big a sin and as much a thing of bondage as if you were a drug addict in the streets! It is death to our souls to think like that!
Remember 2Tim 1:7, "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.".
We no longer have any reason to fear or doubt that God is with us and will do all that He promised according to His grace , mercy and will. Read His Word. Study His Word and you will know and will be confident in His promises and you will not go back into the bondage of "stinking thinking" and you will continue to be free in the liberty that Jesus Christ give to all who comes to Him!
I pray that this message was a blessing to you all.
God Bless you.

Romans 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

May God richly bless you!
