Hoo Rah! Tabs and Trish!

This is only day 2 for me but I did eat better today and I did exercise.

Thanks for the encouragement, everyone. It helps to know you are all out there!

I'm proud that despite my hectic (INSANE) work schedule, and despite having not kept up with the website and program like I wanted, I fought off my traditional tactic of "well, you screwed it up, might as well just quit" and I'm back on track today. All my exercises, stuck to my calorie goals, and feel encouraged and even more determined. P.S. Get well Chris!

I'm Proud That I have had a loss for 10 weeks in a row, And working on Week 11. I am proud that I have stuck to my exercise regiment and that I have taken the time to do something for myself. I know I'll have tough times but right now I'm just riding this health wave as far and as long as I can go ! Not depriving myself and Not really dieting Just Eating Sensibly and Working My BIG BUTT Off!

All is not lost if you slip and fall ...As long as you get back up ,brush yourself off and get back at it. One should always learn from there mistakes.

I am proud that in spite of a big time derailment that lasted the entire holiday weekend, I am jumping right back on track today. And Tabs, I know what you mean...while I was eating all that bad stuff over the weekend, I was really craving grilled fish and fresh veggies!!

I am overwhelmed rather than proud I think - as I tried some of my favourite pizza and didn't like it - found it all too greasy - so I have actually crossed off a lots of naughties that could have been a downfall - but having let myself have them - I have managed now to see that I don't really like them and I can live without - even lemon zesty cheesecake - doesn't ring any bells for me - what I couldnt get enough of yesterday was salad!!!! So I think after a while (in my case very fast!) you become so used to eating correctly that the original foods you used to crave for when you try them are not as you once remembered them.... So that's pretty good really!

I'm proud that I went to Tony Roma's with my family and didn't go crazy. I thought about it, but had a nice chicken & rice soup, tried a small bite of their ribs and had a good handful of fries. I was fine, they were happy, and we had a nice meal. Since I had to go back to work afterward, I was so glad later that I wasn't in a food coma.

ooh ooh I have really got something to be ashamed of now!!! I ate an entire box of chocolates last night - don't ask why - I haven't a clue! Perhaps it's because I have been so purrrrrrrfect since I joined in August and lost 55lbs and no one cheered! well I have put on 2lbs since last Tuesday and I have been going over the same 3 lbs for the last 2 weeks - guess there was something in the chocs I needed as I feel so much better today!!!! Confession over!

Anyone else?

today I am not proud of myself at all...
I was poorly all night - and finally got to sleep at 5am... got up and did the team posts at 9am, and then crashed without looking at my diary.... thus I slept through my physio session, and forgot to get new tyres for the car am still feeling really yuck so I will be going and doing zilch for the rest of the day!

Maybe in few days I might feel better, and even have something to feel proud of... currently I am ashamed.

Today was my first day back to work since I started sparking. I'm very proud that I was able to stay within my calorie targets and keep drinking the water. I almost went over accidentally since I wasn't planning quite as closely. Fortunately I logged everything before eating my evening snack which definitely would've put me over. So, still on track. And I learned a little more to help keep my on track tomorrow.

And I'm happy to be working and making some money for a few weeks. That should reduce some of the stress.

Chris - I love how you describe letting yourself have sort of an ebb and flow to the way you approach your eating. I can see that that would be easier to maintain long-term than to be so strict with yourself all the time.

I have a couple of things to address the night-time eating, which is ABSOLUTELY my number one problem. Still.

Big thing is to make sure I've eaten well throughout the day (breakfast, snacks, etc.) with protein and fiber met. That ensures, for me at least, that any "hunger" I feel after dinner is mental hunger, not physical hunger.

If I'm pretty much in control, I'll save 150 or so calories and have snack in the evening. It could be a small bowl of high fiber, yummy cereal (mix of GoLean Crunch and Fiber One is my favorite) or a piece of cinnamon toast or something else.

Sometimes I'll do a 100-cal pack but frankly, they're not that satisfying. I like the Lorna Donne cookies (eat so slow, with a hot beverage). 100-cal popcorn bags are great too. The 15 and 20 calorie popsicle and creamsicles ROCK. You can have several of those and still feel virtuous.

However, my pattern is that I'm good like that for awhile. Then I start getting a little sloppier and sloppier with my eating. And soon, too darn many calories, unplanned, in the evening. And my weight bounces up.

So I get tough. No eating after dinner. Period. For 5 days. I can have hot tea or decaf coffee or sugar free drinks. Maybe a few 8-cal fiber tabs if I MUST have something. But that's it. 5 days.

If I stick it out for 5 days, then I am back in control and give myself a little latitude. I'm not rigid about this. Tomorrow I have Bunco with the girls. I will eat tomorrow night. But it's public eating and I really don't have a problem with public eating, so my ban is pretty much on the nighttime, all alone eating.

If I slip, do I beat myself up? No. Forgiveness and willingness to get back on track has allowed me to experience great success with weight loss. I wish I could have given myself this gift when I was 20 or 30 years younger!

Chris, what is your secret to nipping that late night eating thing? I know one way to do that is to go to bed earlier but what can I say, I'm a night owl. But this is supposed to be a place to post positive things. What I am proud of is that I am about to finish my first weight loss challenge and I am poised to hit the weight loss goal for tomorrow's weigh-in!

I'm proud that I nipped the nighttime eating thing in the bud. In a few days I should be hitting my easy weight loss days (about 9 days before that TOM), so I want to be poised to drop a few pounds soon. So no random eating at night!

I'm also proud that I went out to a Chinese restaurant with my husband and ordered a healthy meal, divided it in half before I started, and just ate that. Even though I had to watch my husband eat 2 full entrees (one of which was deep-fried). I didn't really want to share his food (I did eat 1 shrimp and tried the sauce on the other dish) because it didn't look that appetizing to me. It made me sad that he was eating so much food, but I was able to hold my tongue and not say anything about it. So - good job to me!

I'm trying to change my mindset to focus on the positive as much as possible. So, today I'm going to congratulate myself for getting to the gym this morning and doing 30 minutes on the cycle.

What are you proud of today? It can be related to anything, not just food or exercise. Trophies to everyone who did something to be proud of today.
