We're the LUCKY LEPRECHAUNS for March. I can't spark anymore...I'm pooped. Been up since 3AM, set up TEN teams, TEN chat rooms, TEN challenges, TEN e-mails...what HAVE I done, but at least the worst is over, and it's one month long for four months.

See you in the other chat room. The challenge will start tomorrow, and I'll post that later. I'm Sparked out.

Good morning everyone. Today it is sunny and we are to get to 40 degrees…but still a cold wind. Right now its 30 with wind chill 19degrees. It looks like our March will be coming in like a lion…we are forecasted to have 3in of snow on Thursday and Saturday. This morning I got all 3 beds sheets changed and plan on doing full body strength training today. If the wind chill isn't to bad I will head out for a walk with Shorty again. I so want this warmer weather to start and stay. I did get out yesterday afternoon and took a mile walk.

@CJ I am so sorry that you have caught the "crud" that has been going around. I hope that you feel better soon and rest up.

@Susan… I am finding out from a few people that it isnt all the rare to start that early…I guess I would be in the late category (13)…I have even heard recently of some girls being 10! I am slowly but surely getting my entire house cleaned…it just might take me a while. The last 2 days I am def feeling it now…lol. Hope you are able to get all you want done today…including fitness.

REMINDER: TODAY IS THE LAST DAY OF THE HEARTS & ROSES CHALLENGE! TOTAL UP WEEK FOUR SOMETIME TOMORROW!

I'll get the March one up tomorrow, which is what I'll be doing in the morning. This one and the other one, but the other one is a 16-week one, with each one lasting one month, and it's not like this one at all since it's mostly for fitness.

I didn't get any work or studying done. I had errands to run and a dentist appointment, so tomorrow after I get the challenges set up, I'll work on my project and then I must set Wednesday aside for studying. I've had my first set of lessons a week and haven't even looked at them. I have four weeks to complete the project I'm working on so I am one busy girl, but I can't let that get in the way of working out.

@Sue, I am so glad you didn't lose your job! It is a little funny how they put you on 3 days with no pay, but picked the days. That should tell you something about how important you are to them. GOD came through for you.

@Lisa, I started when I was 11 so I don't think it's that unusual, and I probably weighed the same. I stayed home the first day I was so embarrassed, but that was back when all they had were pads and that stupid hooky thing. You certainly had a busy weekend. I'm so sorry about your broken items. Don't feel bad about not cleaning for so long. I finally cleaned last week, and more this week, and it had been since Thanksgiving that I'd done anything...including vacuuming! I don't so much have dust "bunnies" as I have dust "kittens"...cat hair everywhere in the corners and all.

Well Saturday we ended up with another 3 in of snow…good thing was is that it was the light fluffy stuff and not the wet and heavy so it was easy to clear. I never did get my nap in on Saturday…just felt really blah all day long. Friday we had a HUGE fight/discussion with my daughter. Attitude thing was getting WAY out of control AND she got a warning from the bus AND her mid progress report from school said she had a disregard for rules at school /sigh. She is only 11 and we are at the "teenage" years already. Then yesterday while sorting clothes for laundry figured out the WHY. She is now a young woman…..a bit early to me and the dr even informed me in Aug that she wouldn’t till she was at least 100lbs….she is only 78lbs. So we had to get her some "stuff" and also bought her meds for mood/cramps as well….hormones can be a b&tch. My husband is not looking forward to this…lol.
Sunday was laundry and then out to lunch. Then shopping for a bit. Then I put together a 4drawer dresser which was a pain…took me 3 hours! Then it was cleaning my room…"spring" cleaning it ….I now have 2/3rds of my room done…only one more corner left.
So far today I have put together a shoe shelve set, vacuumed my living room and foyer way. Then like an idiot I went to move the eliptical and vacuum behind there and get all the dust bunnies and I hit a picture on the wall with the handle which fell off the wall and hit a shelf which then knocked off my glass butterfly and my rose swan porcline vase. My butterfly shattered and my vase had three pieces chip off. I was so mad…they were both gifts. So by the time I finished cleaning 3 hours worth I hit the shower…..I just felt all gross from the dust bunnies….It horrible when you get so sick that you don’t clean for Months. The last time I did that well was in September! I am slowly but surely will get all my rooms done. I might go out for a walk with the dog later today depends on how cold it is out. Right now its 24 degrees but feels like 16 so we will see.

@ Susan..I am glad that your husband is feeling better. That is what my husband and I had 2weeks ago. It’s a nasty bug. Another challenge…you sure do have a lot going on! Energizer bunny! Hope all your projects are going smoothly

@ Sue…I am glad that everything worked out ok at work. Isnt it funny that they want to "punish" you but not when your needed….lol.

@CJ. I have caught up and read your blogs…beautiful as always..I just love reading them

Good Afternoon Everyone!

I thought I would let you know the result of my job status. The CEO, CFO and COO called me into the CFO's office. What an ordeal that was! i did my very best not to cry but I didn't make it through to the end of the meeting. I will be suspended 3 days without pay, I will have strict procedures I have to follow, I will have this in my file and I am not to show any kind of attitude over all of this EVER.

Now, here's the interesting part. The CEO wanted my three days off to be this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. He asked me what job functions would have to be covered those three days. I told him that I have billing on Thursday and month-end-closing on Friday. The CFO turned a bit white and asked if my 3 day suspension could be on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. So - yes we want to suspend you but not on the days no on else can do your work.

I am grateful that I still have a job. Thank you so much for all your thoughts and prayers.

@Susan - I have used those Magic Erasers and they are awesome. Wow! 59 people signed up for a challenge?? Glad someone is helping you!

@Jill - I haven't seen you on here in a while. Hope you're ok and that your sister is still doing well.

@Lisa - Hope you had a good weekend in spite of the snow and that you are feeling better.

@CJ - I'm off to read your blogs. They are always so interesting. I'm sure I will have a comment or two there.

Thank you all for being a wonderfully supportive group!

I ended up cleaning house for 3 hours, so the bathroom and kitchen are sparkling. I absolutely LOVE "Magic Eraser" by Mr Clean. If you've never used them, you should. Once you do, you'll never use anything else. I've tried cleaning my coffee pot, then stains inside, so I used it, and it looks crystal clear.

Today I have teams to put together and get ready for the new challenge that will start on Wednesday. I'm doing a small one for my ChaLEAN Extreme team called the "Get Lean By Summer 16-week Challenge", but it's going to be simple, not like this, and each one will go for four weeks, so that won't be too much to handle. BUT, I had 59 sign up so I have to split them up into 7-10 teams. We'll have a chat, like here, but not enforced like this one is. And I have a teammate who actually came up with the idea who will help me.

@CJ, I'm glad you're in for March, and I'll be limited myself what with work and studying, so just do what you can when you can is all I ask of you. OMG yes! We bought a 50lb bag at our Farmers Market last spring and still have two bags left.

@Sue, glad you're in for March as well. The old gang is still around, with one new member. That's what his was, upper respiratory, and my son had it too. I'm hoping I don't get it.
Oh, Sue, I'm so sorry this happened. I'm putting a prayer in my prayer box for you right now. I pray for GOD to comfort you, and to guide your supervisor. Only GOD knows what is best. Please let us know what happens. emoticon

Hi Everyone!

I want to apologize to you as a team for my absence this week and especially this weekend. Where do I begin? I guess it started on Thursday when it was discovered that $40,000 of extremely old items had been re-billed to our Mental Health Board. Then on Friday morning after much investigation, it was determined that on February 26th last year, I did not send through an $81,000 billing of which the $40,000 was a part. Now that it is a year old, it is too late to get payment. The CEO was out of the office on Friday, but it has been intimated to me that there will be a push to fire me tomorrow. Needless to say, I have been an emotional ball of nerves. I haven't eaten anything I shouldn't have, I haven't exercised, I haven't really done much of anything. I guess I just want to get tomorrow over with. Still, I do have great faith and no matter what happens I know that I will be alright.

@Lisa - Thank you for the info on the rain to snow conversion. It sounds like you like looking up things as much as I do. I'll be sitting here watching TV when I'll see something and just have to look it up. I say when all else fails - Google.

@Susan - I will do the March challenge. Sorry I didn't sign up I was way too distracted. I do know you have your hands full. I'm glad your DH is better. The flu that is going around here isn't the throw up kind it's more upper respiratory.

@CJ - I don't know what kind of writing project you have coming up, but I do love reading what you write. I'm sure it will be awesome!

I'm off to write, then read blogs. I'll let you know tomorrow if I'm still employed or not.

emoticon Thanks for the reminder about March - I've been on the fence because I have a writing project to do and that will take a lot of time and creative energy. But I don't want to lose touch with all of you either. So, yes I'd like to include myself in March, knowing that I will participate as much as I can and you will understand. Thanks.

@Susan - I'm happy to hear that DH feels better now. Whatever has been going around sure takes it's toll on us. It's a wonderful thing to garden - so hopeful to watch things growing. I bought seeds for purple bush beans. Have you seen them? They grow a beautiful bright purple and then when you steam them they turn green. My grandmother used to plant them and I finally found the seeds for my own container garden.

I'm hoping to get to the pool again today. emoticon

Just want to update who I have signed up for the March BSG Challenge, as some of you aren't on it. So far we have:

GRANNYS5, LOTSALUVISA, NNABELLE1957, MICHELLE311106 and myself. Sue and CJ, are you going to join us or sit this one out?

I really need to get off this emoticon and get outside to rake up leaves from the garden area. Then decide if I want to plant anything or not. Problem with planting is I have to water, which takes time, and I've got a full plate as you know, but I do love watching my flowers bloom. I planted some bulbs mid summer, so I don't know if they'll come up or not. The Caladiums came up great, and I know I'll have to separate them, but the others I'm not sure because I bought them in early spring, and they just sat around.

@Lisa, still snowing? I'm sorry. You know it has to stop soon and then we'll be complaining bout the sweltering summer heat soon.

@CJ, I usually know what DAY it is, I have problems with what DATE it is. Glad your shoes are working out. Good idea to get that kind of a guarantee. I bought a pair, and I couldn't return them without exchanging them. Thank goodness I found THE pair I like, the one where I ordered another pair too.
DH is finally over whatever he had. It started late Sunday night, and finally yesterday he felt completely normal. Whatever it was it lasted a LONG time. No vomiting or anything like that, just feverish and sweating, with chills at first.

emoticon Hello Everyone - I'm here. This has been such an odd week with Monday being a holiday and then the snow here and I'm just now figuring out what day it is! So hope all of you are getting some rest and fun time for the week-end. I got to the pool today and that felt so good. Our pool is warm and it's easier to get in my P.T. exercises in the water.

A big Thank You for the comments on my blogs. It takes me longer to write the ones that are more personal, but it's really helpful when others comment that they have had similar experiences. And by the way - my shoes are working out great. One of the reasons I liked where I got them is there promise to take them back if they didn't feel right after I got them home. Of course, I walked around in them for at least 1/2 an hour at the store which helped too.

@Susan - Glad you are getting some time away from projects today. Sounds like you have been plenty busy. How's your DH feeling now?

@Lisa - Hope you get a nap. Sounds like a perfect plan for a snowy day. Actually it sounds pretty good for any day now that I think about it. emoticon

@Sue - Did you make it through the downpour? That's a lot of rain all at once. People always talk about how much it rains here - but really it's more about how OFTEN it rains, not the actual inches.

@ Bis - Hi - good to see you here. How's your leg pain? In answer to your question about how I got diagnosed to go to P.T. - my Primary Care Person referred me because of nerve pain in my leg and back. After the initial P.T. work we did on my back - my physical therapist began looking into my gait and how the way I walk might be effecting my back and leg. Does that help?

@Jill - How did the party go? Hope you are not too tired.

It's almost March - hard to believe. I'll write more later.

This project is going to be a emoticon of one. Took me 2 hours to find 8 figures/photos digging through all the files. Usually JPGs show up in preview, but if they are in another format they don't show up, so I did lots of opening of files. I've just got the first part of it too. I ended up contacting the guy who gave me the files because the last half of it, I don't think I have the images/photos. After looking and looking, realized I really don't, so for now I'll just get the text formatted and input it into InDesign, then add what figures/photos I have. I may have to retype a 4-page table because what I have is a JPEG of it rather than an actual table, and the colors are too bright.

I have to have it done, in complete final ready to print format, by March 28 so they can have a week to tear it apart before the field trip on April 9th. So that's what I'm going to do today, and get bills written.

@Sue, I too love falling asleep to the sound of rain. It's so soothing. I would bet 2" of rain would at least be double if it were snow.

@Bis, You'll be saying HI to my home state...Oklahoma! If you're traveling I-35 and have time, you should try to visit Arbuckle Lake and Arbuckle Mountains. I lived in Ardmore for a year after my parents got divorced. Have fun!
If you've never co-led a team, you should do it...at least once. If nothing else, it helps you to appreciate leaders of other teams.

@Lisa, Glad you're adjusting to your medication well. I LOVE Kickboxing...really helps to work out frustrations sometimes if you imagine someone you're punching or kicking. That 1lb you put back on is probably muscle, so don't worry about that. Focus on inches, body fat, and how your clothes fit.

@Sue…I love going to sleep to the sound of rain too. Hope you don’t get to much more…wouldn’t want it to flood on you. I have no idea on how much 2 in of rain equals in snow but according to kgb answers…
The average ratio is 10 in. of snow per inch of rain but, if the air is warm, it may take the equivalent of as much as 5 in. of rain to get 10 in. of wet snow
Was just interesting to look it up…lol.

@CJ…the blog was wonderful to read…thank you for posting.

@Bis… good to hear from you…sounds like work is busy as usual. With the kind of schedule that you work no wonder you are fatigued. So were are you heading to in OK….if you are going through Wichita Falls and up you would head right into Lawton OK(45min from there)…..were I lived for 8yrs and worked at Ft. Sill. Not much to see there of course except a small mall and two Wal-Mart's.

Nothing exciting here today. I am adjusting well to my new medication and seem to have more energy back in more ways than one…..especially in one area that had been deteriating badly in the last yr …. emoticon emoticon . I did get in a workout today…WATP Kickboxing and did some strength as well. I have lost some of my endurance and strength that I worked so hard to gain but it should come back pretty quick. I did do my weigh in /measurements today….gained 1 of the lbs back that I lost last week but my measurements are still going down….yay…. And another 1.2% body fat lost! I am now below 40%! emoticon Other than that I have no other plans today. Hope everyone is having a great day

emoticon Good Morning All,

I am at work and having a little down time to catch up on my SP Friends!!

@CJ - read those blogs. Cool!! I left comments on them, should have saved them for here....

@ Susan - it sounds like you have a lot going on........!!!! I, too, hate it, when family members aren't getting along... I grew up that way, so I'm not sure how it'd be if it were different.... that's why I live in a different state.

@Sue - I'm thinking my "new" boss did the same kinda things........guess they need to establish "who's in charge"...... or he could just be oblivious to his rudeness........

@Jill - I can't imagine all the projects and things you have going on in your home. It sounds very busy... but FUN!!! I have a leather pocketbook that the strap just broke... if you need another sewing job.. let me know. I'll mail it.....

@ Lisa - what a struggle to wash jeans in the tub....... I'm thinking I would have just sprayed them down in something that smells nice..... emoticon Hopefully you snow is melting and very very soon, you can get back to your regular routines........

As amazing as it may seem... I just have absolutely have nothing exciting to share. Oh, I could talk about this hurts and that hurts... but .... you've all heard that........Right now, I work, sleep and repeat. For whatever reason, I'm having some real problems with fatigue and can't get anything accomplished right now. Countdown to vacation.... March 12th. I'm stepping outside of my comfort zone and am going to visit my niece just North of Dallas, TX. We plan a little drive over the OK line... mostly so I can say... "Hey!! I've been to Oklahoma!!! Just a sillly goal of mine..... I did get an invite to co-lead a team, but I am still thinking that over........ Have a great Friday!!!!

Good Evening Friends!

It is pouring the rain and is supposed to do so all night. They are saying 2 inches of rain by in the morning.I was never very good at science (I loved anything that had to do with English or Math) so I don't have a clue what the formula would be to figure how much snow would come out of 2 inches of rain.

I love to fall asleep to the sound of rain so I think I will go to bed now. Everyone have a great Friday.

@CJ, I'm glad your friend is doing better. Totally understand your absence. yep, I got my project alright. It's like looking through a haystack for a needle. Mainly for the images as I have six sets of folders to look through, and of course they're not named the same so I just have to hunt. Spent 2 hours today, with 22 printed pages, and finally found the text, 8 images and 4 tables. Seriously, it took that long. And the tables I'm going to retype as they look horrible, dpi is way too low. I've decided for the "where's waldo hunt" I'm charging $3 per page, and that's just getting everything sorted out. That doesn't even include the formatting, editing, etc. He doesn't seem to care, so more money for me to help pay for school. Which I ned to pick one day a week to do each lesson, so I'm thinking mid week might be good.

@Lisa, ooh la la! Nails done! I use to have mine done, now I just clip them once a week. Makes it easier to type.

Yep, looks like we're all stretched on time these days.

@ Susan…I agree working opposite shifts is not easy. Right after I had my daughter I had to go to work again and I worked from 7am to 4 pm then Hubby worked 6pm to 6am M-F and the weekends I worked another job during the day from 8am to 5pm and he picked up another job working as a custodian at night on the weekends for about 4 hours a night. We rarely saw each other for almost a year. That was really hard to do. I hope that your son will get a chance to switch shifts…money isnt everything. Hope you are enjoying your lessons

@Jill sounds like your busy today with all the baking and shopping planned. Hope your day is going well.

@Sue…glad to see you stop by. Hope things settle down at work for you.

@ CJ….Good thing is that if I can get to the laundry mat I don’t have to do them in the tub but this time it was a problem. Our landlord cant afford to replace the washer right now….they are about $900 to replace(coin operated ones). But it also wasn’t in our lease agreement to have access to them he just did when he could….and since we don’t pay water I think that its okay…its just a pain in the winter time to get to the mat. What does bother me though is I have a washer and a dryer in storage but no where to hook them up …and they have been in there for 2 yrs now and they were only 6months old when we moved. My next house/apt will have a place I can hook them up and be able to do my laundry when I want to. I hope your friend is doing better today. We are supposed to get more snow on Sunday and Monday again…UGH. I so don’t want anymore…./sigh.

Today I went out and did the grocery shopping, picked up RXs and got my nails "done up" again. I got to borrow the car and thank goodness the weather is good today. I will have to go get hubby after the kids get home and I am trying to catch up on my SP since I have been gone since 7:30 this morning and just got home at 2. I don’t think I will have time to blog again today….wish I just had time and more energy to do it. Hope everyone is having a great day.

emoticon Hello Everyone - I've been helping a friend who just had surgery and needed to return to the hospital for a few days. She is doing better and is home now. I missed you all but was super tired when I got home. Our snow has started, so far one a couple of inches accumulation where I live, but more is on the way, so I'll do whatever needs doing today and then not have to get out if the driving becomes difficult. Our snow is usually so moist that after it freezes the hills make it hard to get around. I won't be going outside for my walks for a few days. : )

@Bis - good to hear from you. Looks like we are all stretched pretty thin these days. Hope you can get the rest you need.

@Susan - You got your first projects. Yay! And more work for your business. Oh, my that's a lot to be doing all at once. Hope DH begins to feel better (for him) and you get a chance to workout (for you). You have a lot to juggle, don't you.

@Lisa - I think wringing out wet jeans qualifies as strength training. Hope your laundry facilities are available soon. Are you done shoveling snow for a while?

@Sue - It must be frustrating to be interrupted on your breaks at work. Just because you work on machines doesn't mean you are one!!!!! Maybe you could post a "404" error message!

@Jill - The cake you are doing sounds so pretty. Hope the "surprise" comes off and everyone has a wonderful celebration. Take care of you.

For Part 4 "Blog A Day", you can blog about anything. It takes a lot of time, at least for me, to blog to the "motivation" posts, so any blog counts.

Hubby still not feeling well, so I have a "window of opportunity" right now to work out as he's in bed sleeping. Other than that, he's on the couch watching TV. Picked up part of my new project yesterday. It's bits and pieces from different guidebooks, so I have to go in and figure out what needs to be included. AND, I have four weeks to get it ready for printing so it can be proofed and changes be made before the field trip to the Arbuckle Mountains in Oklahoma on April 9th. I'd love to go on one of those field trips, and am sure I could, but I don't have the time.

@Sue, darn that new supervisor! Doesn't he know that lunch time is YOUR time. I use to put a sign on my desk that said "I'M AT LUNCH...NO INTERRUPTIONS".

@Jill, ooh, the cake sounds beautiful! Take a photo if you can. I'll receive a Certificate in Graphic Design when I finish. Not really a diploma as I only went to high school and am not interested in getting a college degree, but this will still help with my business.

Good Evening Friends!

I was so bushed when I got home last night that I fell asleep early. Consequently, I didn't make it in here. I really like to do a big amount of my Spark work at lunch, but since I got a new supervisor he keeps interrupting my lunch to have me do work. So, I need to wrap this up so I can get some sleep.

I'll try to write more tomorrow.

Got my first Lesson book, which is actually three lessons, but I'll do one at a time., Says the goal is to do one lesson per week, if possible, so I think what I'll have to do is pick one day a week to study...completely uninterrupted.

Also, there's more to Graphic Design than just "doing it". I'll be learning about the Language of Design, Managing Effective Design, and Designing with Color for the first three. I won't get up software and tools until after I finish Lessons 1 through 6. At least the exams are open book, and I can fill in my answers (multiple choice) before I take the exam online.

One other thing I've added to my list is a student in the Ashworth Community wants to put together a book. Apparently they actually made a movie called "Freedom Writers" with Hillary Swank, which is the basis of the book. Members of the community will submit no more than two pages of their "past, present and future" along with photos, and then I'll be helping him format and design it into a printable book. He asked if I'd help, and I said yes. Yep, that's me...the YES I WILL girl. BUT...it will be good for my portfolio and good practice.

I just picked up my next project, which has to be completed and ready to print no later than April 1. I have three sets of documents that I have to go and find what needs to be included, so I'm starting that one now. Hubby is still not feeling well, so I didn't find my "window of opportunity" to workout. Oh well, been here before not working out for a few days, so I'll get back on it.

I don't know if I'll be able to do anymore blogs, but we'll see.

@Lisa, My son works the night shift and his fiance works days, although he's seriously thinking about switching. Money or not, it's not easy working nights. Loved your blog!
Oh geez! Washing jeans by hand!? Almost impossible, although I have done it.

@Bis, glad you're here. Just do what you can when you can. I may not be around much in March as I just got a rush project, and have to finish my first Graphic Design lesson in 2-3 weeks, so I'm going to be one busy girl myself.

@Susan. I loved your blogs. Hope all is going well today.

@ Jill. I know all to well the doing to much bit…hope you are resting today.

@Bis… I hope it settles down for you soon….thats got to be hard working extra. Come in and visit when you can.

Today I did a little bit of exercise…not to much though. I did have to wash about 5 pairs of jeans by hand in our bathtub since I havent been able to make it to the laundry mat going on 4weeks now. Good thing is that the dryer does still work at the apt complex so they will dry good. The squeezing out really worked my hands to the point of hurts…jeans are HARD to squeeze….lol. Well not much else going on here today. Have a great day all.

Good Morning!!

Thanks to all that I've heard from during my MIA. Things have been hectic on my end and finding time or the clarity of mind to write something has seemed overwhelming. I am working extra this week, so that doesn't help either.

@Susan - thank you for the goodie. I'm going to try to be here for this last week of Feb.

I've been a little blah, shall we say, and very very tired. So there really is no news on my end to share. Thanks for being there!!

evening ladies,
today a bit better than yesterday, although I probable did tooo much and will be feeling it tomorrow emoticon did a couple hours of cleaning then, I had to shovel my car off . There was about a foot of snow on top of it. Boy was that a job!!! Had to move my car so the maintenance man here could clean out my parking spot. Then I had a meeting, so I had to get my car unburied.

CJ, wish I could walk outside - won't be long though!! Hum, back & forth to the bathroom - that's where I get most of my steps during the day emoticon

Susan, I haven'r cleaned my desk off yet either, although today I did clean a closet and went through a couple of other boxes... Threw some things away !!! emoticon Yes my son-in-law works 3 rd shift. He doesn't really like it, but the pay was better so he switched. I think he is going to stay on it one more year.

Lisa, Yeah!!! out of the BLAHS emoticon sounds like you did a bit tooo much yesterday, sorry your feeling it today. pain is no fun. hope you took it easy today.

have a good evening everyone. I'm gona try to read everyone's blogs tonight. don't know how long I can sit here.

Not much going on today. I did "talk/write" myself out of a BLAH mood. I did do way to much yesterday and I hurt a lot this morning . I did for about 45min have controlled pain but now its starting to come back…its about time I can take another dose of pain meds….think today I will be on it all day just to function some. I literally had to force myself to get up this morning to help with kids and get hubby's lunch and snacks together. Today the sun is shining and it is bright outside. I have my window open and I am waiting on spring…lol .

@ Susan…the only sidewalks that HAVE to be cleared by law is ones that are downtown or on main street or by schools. Ours is a private sidewalk for us and the apartment next to us. Unfortunately the neighbor NEVER shovels the sidewalk. I do because I don’t want it all tracked into my house. I don’t know how I do it either….especially this morning! I thought I would never get any relief from the pain. I didn’t sleep well at all last night either but I couldn’t go back to sleep after DH and kids left. I will more than likely go to bed early tonight. Sounds like you are still really busy with all that is on your plate!

@ Sue …I thought I would NEVER get the end of the driveway done yesterday. My DH would have come out to help but he was "stuck" with stomach issues and couldn’t even make it out the house right then…lol. And me being my independent self….decided Oh I can do it. Oh I don’t think all that rain you got any better, I hope it didn’t freeze to much.

@Jill… You and I both I think are SOOOO ready for spring…this has been a horrible winter between snow and arctic blasts. I am SOO glad I don’t have an 85ft driveway…..ours is only about 15 ft maybe. Sounds like you really need to go see your dr…I hope your not in as much pain today.

@ CJ…. Wonderful that you were able to go out in some nice weather!!! My pedometer thinks the same thing I think, to the bathroom and back or the "stay in place" walking with WATP. Would LOVE to actually go somewhere out in NICE weather outside walking.

Oh I did post my blog today...Reflections help moods

One more minor revision to the "dot to dot" and then I'll be picking up the next project. I haven't even touched the one with the tables yet. I didn't get my desk cleared off like I planned, but I will.

@Sue, If it freezes hard enough you could go ice skating in your back yard. Definitely strange weather this year, and I've heard it's only going to get worse over the years. Global warming I guess.

I have 12 months to finish, and there are 13 lessons. I was told the average student takes 3 weeks to complete, and I certainly hope that doesn't mean 8 hours a day for 3 weeks. The lady on the phone said no, but she wasn't exactly the instructor so we'll see. I will receive a Time Management Guide, so that should help. My books are at my post office, so I guess I'll know more after today.
SOUNDS doable, until I end up getting to the end of the week lately and wondering "what have I done".

I also just signed up for the "30 Day Challenge to Master Organization and Achieve Your Goals" by Chalene Johnson (she's the fitness instructor for Turbo Jam, ChaLEAN Extreme & Turbo Fire), and will start that next month, so I'm hoping that all of this will help me.

If anyone has problems with organization, here's the link and it's free:
www.30daypush.com/
If you sign up now, you'll start on March 1st. They all start on the 1st of the month.

@Jill, Oh, I'm so sorry you've having so much pain. I'm cringing just reading about your left knee. You definitely need to get in to see your doctor...none of that sounds good, and maybe you just need a little minor adjustment, like PT or something like that.
Glad you got to see the kids. Does your son-in-law work nights?
I agree, no body can eat that small amount of ice cream which is why I don't buy it that often. But the two containers are still in my freezer, one half empty from this weekend, but I don't touch it during the week...usually.

@CJ, glad you were able to get out and walk. I want to start walking when it warms up, even just a little bit. Might be doing lots of it, around the block, to clear my head. I haven't "studied" anything intensely in years. Granted I've gone through video tutorials, and took notes, but this will be totally different. Cleaning house truly does burn calories. When I was doing all that cleaning back when we were going to sell the house, I lost a lot, but I also didn't work out which was bad because it took me a few weeks to get back up to the endurance I was at before.

What I Learned in Trivia:

"A 2005 study published in the British Journal of Nutrition showed that Brits burn more than 50,000 calories a year--nearly 15 pounds of fat--just by cleaning their homes."

Doing the math that works out to almost 1000 calories per week. Not a bad way to look at cleaning chores!! emoticon

emoticon Hello Everyone - Today I actually was able to go for a walk outside! And I didn't freeze or anything! Wow! It felt good and it was so easy to get steps on my pedometer when I was actually headed somewhere besides the bathroom!

@Jill - I agree with you about going to the doctor. I don't think your knee should be doing what it's doing - nor do I want you to be having such agonizing pain. Let us know what you find out.
Getting to see the grandkids was the good part for you, I'm sure. And what's with this 1/2 a tennis ball ice cream serving? That's not ice cream, that's more like licking the spoon!!!

@Lisa - No wonder you are ready for spring. I had no idea how much shoveling is involved in trying to clear the snow. It would be beyond my ability. I do hope you are not too sore after all that work.

@Sue - WooHoo! for getting 100% on Trivia - glad you guessed right!

@Susan - I know what you mean about always working on several projects at a time. I wonder if that is part of the creative process. When I get stuck in one - I can move over to another for awhile - and then when I come back to it - there is usually a way to resolve what had me stumped before.

Thanks for your comments on today's blog - the pictures I included were of Oregon.
The first one is Multnomah Falls in the Columbia Gorge.
The second one you may have recognized as Crater Lake.

Rest well, my friends. CJ emoticon

hi there ladies. boy what a weekend. I didn't do much of anything. Too much pain, can't sit here in the chair at the computer more than a half hour without being in great pain. Looks like I'll have to break down and call the Dr :( Right hip in excruciating pain, lower back hurts like **** and left (fake) knee keeps "sliding" sideways. Like I don't think it's suppose to be doing that!! So, any way have not been around much for a few days. hope all is going well with everyone.
Today I got to go to my daughters' house and watch the kids while she worked and my son-in-law slept. It was really nice to get to spend time with them, I don't see them much, and I miss them so.

CJ, I re-learned that trivia ? too - Who can eat ONLY 1/2 of a tennis ball worth of ice cream???? I don't even buy it - because #1 I have a tiny freezer, #2 I live alone and #3 I would eat it all MYSELF... So when I'm at the store I go to the ice cream isle and take a couple deep breaths, and imagine eating a BIG BOWL of mint chocolate chip, covered in hot chocolate syrup... emoticon Then I go home and eat carrots emoticon emoticon
Wonderful Blog

Susan, glad to hear you are getting some sleep. I should clean my Sewing desk off, but I think it will still be there in a few days ( or weeks)!!!

Lisa, I know what ya mean about being tired of the snow... emoticon I was sooo ready for Spring emoticon (Which I know will NOT be happening this early in Michigan) But it sure was nice last week to have 40 & 50 degree temps.. You take it easy and take care of yourself.. That snow can really do some damage. I use to shovel my whole driveway - 85 feet long... now I can't sweep my tiny little kitchen without having such a bad back ache that I can't do anything else the rest of the day.

Sorry, I did not mean to come unload on everyone. I hope everyone has a wonderful evening and a fabulous Tuesday emoticon

My Trivia Today

I got a 100 today, but I really guessed about the frozen fruit and sugar being combined to make sorbet. There is a lot I don't know about frozen desserts.

Hi Friends!

It has rained here all day - hard - our back yard looks like a mini lake. The temperature is dropping and it's supposed to turn to freezing rain. All of this rain would have been an extreme amount of snow.

@CJ - when I got my new home office furniture I went through all the files and paperwork I had everywhere. It felt good getting rid of most of it.

@Susan - sounds like you got a lot of much needed rest. When you get your books are you on a time schedule to get everything finished or can you do it at your own pace?

@Lisa - I know what you mean about those snow plows. They clear the streets by pushing the snow against parked cars and in driveways. Sometimes those piles are so high you wonder how you will ever get out or through them.

OK I've got some things to do. Talk to you all tomorrow. I look forward to the blogs.

CJ, I do plan on reading all your blogs, starting with PART 1 of your story...I just haven't had time.

@Lisa, you all are getting pounded again with this snowstorm. Plus, where you live isn't it the law that you keep your sidewalks shoveled? I know what you mean about the snow plows. They help the streets, but certainly don't help the residents who live on them. Let's hope this is your last one. I don't know how you do it. Just raking leaves, and sweeping the driveway kills me. You definitely will be needing your pain meds, and an early sleep too!

Just a quick stop...I am EXHAUSTED!!! We have gotten nearly 9in of snow yesterday AND rain/sleet/ice about 1/4 in and THEN today ITS SNOWINGMORE!!!. I am TIRED of snow to say the least....so is my body. I got out and shoveled yesterday....when we had about 4 in, Kids shoveled twice yesterday. Then this morning school was cancelled so they got to shovel some more. I went out to help after they told me they couldnt get the end of the driveway done or the drifts....They were both nearly waist high on me....stupid snow plow....and it was full of ice chunks. I am sitting here looking out my window at MORE snow coming down just thinking about going back out is making me cringe. I feel like i need a nap. My body is hurting already...I know I over did it but what am I suppose to do...it needs to be cleared or we would be stuck. pain meds today I think are going to be a must.

CJ I did read your blog...I really did like it!

I cant think straight right now so I hope everyone else is having a good day and a safe one. I will check back when I feel better again.

It's best to start your strength-training workouts with exercises for larger muscles and then work on your smaller muscles.
If you work out the smaller muscles first, they'll be too tired to help out when you're lifting heavier weights to train your larger muscles. So do the "heavy lifting" first, and finish off with the smaller muscles.

I slept ALL day yesterday, and even got in a good night's sleep. I'm still have ups and downs on the sleep issue, so much that I'm afraid NOT to take anything. Last night I took a benadryl because it use to help me, and it did.

Today, I'm going to finish straightening up my desk. It's not as bad as it has been, but I did clear a cubby out for my work assignments, labeled folders, and have a place for whenever I get my Graphic Design books. They didn't ship until a week after I signed up, so I keep expecting them every day. Maybe it's a good thing because I need to get started on my taxes, and get to work on the tables for my new project, that is until I get the next one. Seems I'm always working on one or two at a time these days.

@Sue, I can't say how it works for leg cramps, even though that's what it's for, but it does work for my feet cramps and is the only thing that gives me immediate relief.

@CJ, we went from snow and temps in the 30s, to no snow and temps in the 70s to 80s in one week. The saying in Oklahoma is "If you don't like the weather, stick around...it will change".
I had that same question on my trivia too. And, I was bad on Friday. I had the worse craving for ice cream, so I ended up buying two cartons of my favorite. I've had it three days in a row, so it's time to stop because the scale is inching back up.

What I Learned from Trivia:

This is actually a re-learning. I knew this - I've just not wanted to remember that ice cream comes in such small servings!

"A pint of ice cream is not a single serving; it's FOUR servings. If you eat an entire pint, you have to multiply the number of calories, fat grams, etc. listed on the label by four. Stick to portions the size of half a tennis ball, and always scoop your ice cream into a small bowl instead of eating it directly from the container to prevent overeating." Dang - they had to add that last admonition! emoticon

emoticon Hello Everyone - This was my day to catch up on paperwork. I sorted through a box of stuff I had "stuffed" until I had a chance to go through it. The best part was that 95% went straight to recycle or shredding. Yay!

So you ladies also use your slow cooker. Do you have any recipes you want to share?

@Susan - Hope you keep getting better rest. Stephanie will testify to how cranky I get when I'm too tired! Wow! 81 degrees? I thought our weather was changeable - but didn't you guys just get over a major snow storm?

@Lisa - It's been so long since I've baked bread. I'll bet yours in wonderful - I can almost smell it fresh from the oven. And what a relief it will be when you can plan on $$'s coming in regularly. Hope that is soon.

@Sue - I'm happy to hear you got some rest this week-end. I was hoping you'd get an extra day off tomorrow. Stephanie doesn't work but it isn't a paid holiday, so that's a bummer. We're planning on getting the taxes done tomorrow. The reward is the refund we're hoping for.

Ease and comfort, my friends. CJ emoticon

Good Afternoon Everyone!

I can't believe I wasn't in here yesterday. I had the time but for some reason I thought I had stopped in. Oh well . . . don't they say the mind is the first to go? emoticon

Anyway, I've had a nice weekend. I've accomplished much and rested too. I do have to work tomorrow. We don't get President's Day off.

@CJ - Wow! That was three major life changes and at the same time of the year. I'm so glad you could put your finger on it so you could work through it. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

@Susan - I'll have to check into that leg cramp stuff you use. I take potassium and requip and I have still been waking up with upper thigh cramps that are almost more than I can take because walking doesn't help and stretching doesn't help and massaging doesn't help.

@Lisa - so glad you are feeling better! Congrats on the weight loss and the body fat loss! More snow? I hope it starts warming up for you soon. We had a couple of warm days and then Tuesday the high is supposed to only be 34.

Well, everyone make it a great week. If you have tomorrow off, have fun. If you don't, work well.

Sue

It's okay to exercise when you have a cold.
If the cold is primarily in your head, it's okay to exercise, just at a lower intensity (provided you feel okay and have enough energy). Once you are feeling 100% again, then you can slowly increase your activity back to your pre-illness level. If your cold is below the neck (in your chest), try to refrain from activity until it clears up. The best thing you can do for your body when it's trying to fight a bug is to give it rest.

Not much here either. Didn't sleep very good last night, but took a short nap this morning and am feeling pretty good.

@Lisa, YEAH for you on the weight loss and the body fat. That's what really counts I think, as less body fat means more muscles, which means clothes fit better. Another snow storm? Yikes! It's a cool spring day here, says it's suppose to get up to 81, but it's 69 now and unless the clouds lift I don't think it will. Was going to get out and do some raking. Wet leaves rake best, but am a bit too tired to do that, so I'll do nothing...for now.

@CJ, I love using my slow cooker.

CJ your cooking sounds awesome. I love experimenting with cooking(when I have the money too) I will be able to start experementing again once my checks start coming in...at least until my husband doesnt have a job anymore in (around) October time frame. My favorite is crockpot cooking and baking....I love baking homemade bread.

Not much going on today...just watching the snow , heavy snow come down from my window. We are expected to get anywhere from 6 to 12 inches...we were almost gone of snow and could see the grass. well that didnt last to long. /sigh....I so want spring! then by about 3 its supposed to change to sleet.

emoticon Hello Everyone - This has been a good day for cleaning house and doing big batch cooking. I tried out a slow cooker recipe for stew. It turned out pretty tasty and remarkably filling. It was a good experiment, but I think I'll try some others as well.

@Susan - Thanks for the congratulations. I'm beginning to feel more settled at this new weight. It's not so surprising when I look in the mirror - I seem to recognize the image as me. Do you know what I mean?

@Lisa - Good to hear you are feeling able to eat more. That's a good sign - as well as lowering your body fat!! How encouraging. And yes, the writing helps me immensely - when I do it! Sort of like physical exercise, isn't it!

@Susan - What good news that you were able to catch up on your sleeping. I appreciate knowing about the Quinine homeopathic. I'll look for it. Right now I notice if I'm not getting enough magnesium. It seems to help all the other minerals work better.

I'm thinking of you all. Peace and rest, my friends. CJ emoticon

What I LEARNED FROM TRIVIA

Some medications can affect your heart rate during exercise

Some medications (such as beta-blockers) can affect your heart rate during exercise. An exerciser taking beta-blockers may be working at a high intensity but might never reach her target heart rate. Therefore, people on medications that affect heart rate should not measure workout intensity by counting their heart rate.

Hubby is letting me check in today..even though we had made the decision that weekends were ours, because we have been sick all week and I hadnt had a chance to "catch up " with everyone. I am feeling LOTS better today. Yesterday I actually got in over 1000 calories. I went ahead and did my weekly weigh in/measurements anyway(I know that some may come back due to being sick) I did lose 4.2 lbs but more importantly lost 1.2% body fat. Next week will be back to my exercise plan. Monday I plan on getting out to do laundry…husband is off. Our weather has been wonderful…wish I had felt better to go out and walk in it. Now this weekend is back down to "normal" and another snow storm is on its way.

@ Susan….I am so glad you finally was able to catch up on sleep. I hope that you are able to get the Cymbalta to work for you the way you want.

@Jill….sounds to me that you had a long day! My diet I just do what the SP has set up for my % of fat/protein/carbs ratio.

@CJ….WONDERFUL….6lbs is great! My thought and prayers are with you with your struggles right now. Writing really does help and am glad you have found is helping you some.

@Sue…isnt it wonderful getting off early and having that quiet time. I am not a big NASCAR fan…just don’t get the driving in a circle bit I guess…lol. Hope you enjoy your race.

Good Saturday to all, and it is a good one. I had a 2-hour nap yesterday morning, woke up about 11:30. Then watched two episodes of Grey's with DH until 4:30. Then slept on the couch until 7:30. Ate dinner and went to bed/sleep at 9:30 and slept straight through until 5:30. 8 hours of actual night sleep, plus 5 hours of napping, comes to 13 hours of sleep, which I desperately needed.

I'm experimenting with my Cymbalta to see if it can help with my extreme anxiety. I'm not taking two doses of 30mg, once first thing in the morning, and the second a few hours afterward. Along with that and my Xanax, which I have been taking ALL of my doses spread out over 4 hours in the morning, I'm hoping that works. Usually, I'd spread them out over an 8 hour period. This is just my second day of the double-dose of Cymbalta, so I'll know more in a week or two. If that doesn't work, then I'm on to experimenting with some sites I've found to help with panic attacks and anxiety. It will/would require spending about $70 to get the books and DVDs, but I think that would be better than taking more medication.

@Jill, doesn't sound line a "nothingness" day to me, at least not compared to mine. My diet is on the 30%fat/40%carb/40%protein ratio.

@CJ, six pounds! Awesome! I'm so sorry you're having a difficult time, with all of those things happening during the same time. Writing about it does help. I need to start doing that when I'm feeling anxious or whatever. Seems like as I start writing (which once I start I can't stop), by the end I have it all figured out. Kind of like talking to a therapist. They ask questions, we answer them and figure it out on our own. Your ankle problem has been going on now for, what, three weeks? As much as you don't want to, I think it's time to get it looked by a professional.

*I get feet cramps, so I take potassium supplements. When I actually get one, I have to jump up and start walking on a hard surface. That never works, so I started taking an OTC homeopathic "Hyland's Leg Cramps with Quinine". You can get it at WalMart, or other drug stores, but it's cheaper at WalMart. It works within minutes on my feet cramps, even though it says it's for leg cramps. They use to actually subscribe quinine, but they don't anymore.
**You're right about the "ballistic stretching", although a little bit of it is good a a warm up.

@Sue, that's great you got off early. We aren't NASCAR fans, but are avid MOTOGP fans (motorcycle racing). We get a subscription every year, follow all the riders, and get 18 rounds of races per year.

emoticon Hello Everyone - Today has been full of emoticon 's and emoticon 's for me. The first is that I'm feeling good about my official weigh-in - I'm down another six pounds which is great. I was hoping it was more than that since I hadn't weighed for a month - but I'm not complaining.

The last two days I've been doing laundry and generally dithering about the house and gradually feeling fidgety and more and more depressed ( and starting to crave food - any food!!) - until I figured out that I am approaching the anniversary of my marriage, my divorce, and the death of my former husband (they all occurred at this time of year). It sort of crept up on me and now that I've figured it out and journaled about it, I'm starting to feel better. Funny isn't it, how naming the loss helps us cope with it.

PT was a good experience as we worked more on my walking and I've got some exercises to do to strengthen my foot and leg. The ankle still bothers me where I had the injury, so I'm guessing those two things are not related and I may still need to look into it. sigh

@Sue - Glad to hear you got some time at home. Are you off work for Monday, too? Hope you and DH enjoy the Daytona on Sunday.

@Lisa - I know the recovery from being sick is slower than you want and I'm glad you are getting lots of rest. Stephanie was sleeping almost around the clock for days before she started feeling more energy. I'm lucky I was getting acupuncture for my headaches. I think it helped me not get sick with her. Hope hope . . .

@Jill - aah - some much desired quiet time - just for you. That's great.

@ Susan - It's such a bummer when you're not sleeping that I hope things level out for you soon. Sending you soothing wishes.

Winston is rattling his cage (literally) telling me it's time I gave him his evening snack (a blackberry). Have a restful night, everyone.

What I Learned from Trivia Today:
I'd never heard of "ballistic stretching". I've done it (old-fashioned calisthenics stuff) - I just didn't know that's what it's called. emoticon
And we should "Avoid ballistic stretching and other high-force, short-duration stretches that use rapid bouncing motions or momentum. You have far less control during this type of stretch and therefore a greater potential risk of injury. It does not allow your muscles to adjust to, and relax in, the stretched position. It may instead cause them to tighten up by repeatedly activating the stretch reflex."

I don't think I will ever wrap my head around the fact the men need as much calcium as women. I have always heard that woman need more. I even googled it and any of the sites that came up said that women need more calcium.

Good Evening!

I am so glad it is Friday. I actually got off work at 2:30 pm and had some quiet time before I started dinner and Mike got home. I already have the church finances for this week finished and I'm hoping to get the laundry finished, meals planned and grocery shopping done tomorrow so that when we get home after church on Sunday we can just chill. We are NASCAR fans and the Daytona 500 is Sunday.

@Lisa - I do hope you are feeling better and getting your appetite back.

@Susan - Sometimes 2 hour naps a wonderful gifts. It was 67 degrees here today, but now it's starting to cool down again.

@Jill - I need to get my car washed, too. What kind of bad weather are you expecting this weekend? I think Monday we are getting some heavy rain.

Everyone have a good weekend.

afternoon ladies, another day of quiet nothingness!!! I did go out of the house long enough to get the mail, run into town and pay a bill, make a deposit, get my car washed emoticon (first time since last fall) and come back home ... beautiful day other than the wind, and it is suppose to get more intense over the weekend... Glad I don't have to go out if I don't want to emoticon I probably should at least look at the sewing I have hanging tomorrow, then I can decide when I'll start it.

Susan, I really hope you get your sleep schedule straightened out pretty soon. Naps are good ... emoticon those were some pretty interesting facts about Blood Pressure, guess I've never gotten that question.

Lisa, take care and still sending hugs your way emoticon emoticon emoticon

CJ My Dr. told me that about leg cramps many years ago, Potassium (which bananas are loaded with) helps too.

Sue, it has been REALLY windy here to, but was nearly a perfect Spring day today. The wind is drying it up out there, almost all of our snow is gonw, hope we don't get it back this weekend. Sounds like some NASTY weather coming our way for the weekend. OH well, we'll get what we get. Spring will get here soon.

have a great night all, and have a good weekend...

TODAY'S TRIVIA emoticon

You may have high blood pressure and not even know it. While 50 million Americans suffer from this affliction, 33 percent don't even know they have it, and 70 percent don't have it under control. High blood pressure is often referred to as the "silent killer." In general, it does not directly cause symptoms. When blood pressure is very high, it may cause symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, fatigue and ringing in the ears. However, it often causes no symptoms. The only way to know where you stand is to have your blood pressure checked by a qualified professional.

Quiet in here today. Had another restless, sleepless night last night, but did take a 2-hour nap today. Not much going on right now. I was going to work out but was just too tired I knew I wouldn't last.

@Sue, it's almost like summer here today...70, but is still cool in the house.

@Lisa, glad you're feeling a little better. Yes, make sure you drink plenty of emoticon .

Just a quick check in....Feeling a little better and starting (slowly) to eat again. Still feel really tired. This has hit both of us hard. We had been lucky all winter in the large picture. No colds or sickness really. Well back to pushing fluids and rest. I hate not exercising and cant wait to get back at it.

WHAT I LEARNED FROM TRIVIA TODAY

Minerals help balance the electrolytes in your system which regulate the amount of water in your tissues and affect how your muscles work.

I found this interesting since I have noticed that I no longer get leg cramps now that I am taking extra calcium and magnesium. emoticon emoticon

Good Evening Ladies!

Today was a really warm day here. By this afternoon it got windy and we are expecting rain tonight. It was so much like a Spring day.

@CJ - So you had snow. You're right when it seems like it will never end, it can be very tiring to see one more snow flake. I can't believe I'm saying that because I actually love snow.It just seems like we got so much of it this year. Glad to see you are feeling better.

@Susan - It's funny, Mike and I were just sitting here tonight trying to decide how we wanted to landscape. Last year we pretty much stripped everything down to nothing so we could start over this year.

@Jill - I am glad your sister is getting better. Hopefully she will improve faster when she starts her PT.

@Lisa - I didn't see you check in today. I hope you get to feeling better soon

Everyone have an awesome Friday.

What I Learned Today From My Trivia Quiz Today.

I have always focused on Carbs and Fat being the cause of gaining weight and never thought about the Protein factor. It's true that too much of any of the three will cause weight gain. Now I have something else I need to really watch Although, protein does help my blood sugars as a diabetic.

evening all, boy was it beautiful here today. it was 52 by noon and suppose to hit 57, I don't know if it did; never checked. I had a wonderfully relaxing day, I did nothing.
About 2 I went over to my sisters and filled out some paper work for her and then took them into town. Had left over spaghetti for dinner, so I took a plate over to my sister. She had her check up yesterday, Dr. said she is doing good, she starts PT next Monday. He took her off one of her meds, but I think she is still getting too much, all she does is sleeps. Oh well, she is an adult and I guess she'll have to figure it out herself.
Boy the snow is really melting, It's kind of sad to see it go, it is so beautiful to watch. But I am looking forward to warmer weather so I can get out side and walk emoticon and not have to let my car sit and run for 10 or 15 minutes before I can go any place.

Susan, so glad to hear that you got some sleep last night (even if you needed a bit of help ) Wow, 81 I can only dream of that right now emoticon Snow coming our way again for the weekend.. That's what I love about Michigan though, 57 one day the next 30 emoticon

Sue, That was great news from the dr. Congrats to your hubby...

CJ, glad you had a great day. I love to watch it snow, especially when it is big fluffy flakes. Everyone always tells me I'm crazy because I can't wait until the first snow fall.
emoticon

Well, have a good evening you all, enjoy your Friday...

Thanks for all your comments on my design. There are plenty more in the challenges that I've entered, so my chances of winning are typically 1 out of 50, but it's still fun.
I did get some good emoticon last night, but resorted to having two emoticon (no, it wasn't green although the bottles were...only emoticon I could find for beer). Just sent the project off to be printed and checked.
Temp right now is 66 with a high of 81. I believe I'll get out Saturday and mulch up my flower gardens. I planted bulbs very late last summer, so I have no idea if they'll come up or not, although my plants (the ones with the big alternating colored leaves) did come up, and they will definitely need separating, so I can put them in my small one at the front that gets all shade. Most of my front garden gets shade, then I have one in the back by the patio that gets all sun, and then my monkey grass area where the magnolia tree use to be. I'll be doing LOTS of leaf raking.
If the bulbs don't come up by the time I get my plant catalog, then I'll figure out what I want and get some more. I'm through with annuals...too much money each year, and time.
I'm fixing to cross 35,000 fitness minutes as soon as I finish here and start my workout.

@Jill, I bet you won't do that type of a project again. That's a LOT of needles to go through.

@Sue, I bet Zumba on the Wii is a hoot! It's a dancy thing to begin with, but using the Wii I bet makes it even more challenging. That's awesome about your husband. I'm still working on mine but not making a lot of progress. His condition makes it difficult to exercise, so about all I can do is help him with his food.

@CJ, woah...snow showers? How cool! Ours is all gone.
At least she can ride the bus and either read, or take a nap, which is what I'd do on the way home.

emoticon Hello Friends - I've had a good day, starting with the beautiful - but brief - showers of huge snowflakes this morning. Perfect kind of snowfall - it looks great but you can still get around! I know some of you are so tired of it - I would be too, if it happened all winter and stayed and stayed.

@Jill - No wonder you are sore and exhausted. What a huge task you took on. I hope your nephew makes good use of your efforts for him.

@Sue - You're on a roll with HDL! I've wondered if they keep asking the questions we miss just so we have to learn it! lol

@Susan - Your latest challenge for Live, Laugh, Love is wonderful. No wonder you enjoyed doing it. It reflects you so well. Yes, Stephanie works in downtown Portland and it's too expensive to park a car all day, so the bus is a good idea. It just takes a long time from where we live.

@Lisa - Sorry to hear you're not well. Sleeping all you can should help your recover.

Good night everyone. CJ emoticon

Good Evening Everyone!

I didn't make in here for the first night of the challenge but was able to do a great Wii Zumba workout which really lifted my spirits. My husband had a doctor appointment last night and he has lost 8 lbs in less than a month. Doc asked him how he did it and said, "I'm just doing what my wife is doing. We're cutting our portions down and making better choices." The doctor told him that whatever we are doing, we need to keep doing. That actually made us both feel good.

@CJ - Does Stephanie ride the bus that long one way? If so, who can handle that every day? I'm glad you seem to be better. Lots of people around here have really bad colds. I'm just hoping id doesn't turn into the flu.

@Susan - what's wrong with the coloring? What colors are you trying to re-create? I know you'll get it.

@Lisa - I hope you and your hubby get to feeling better! Sorry to hear about all the trouble you are having over your son's backpack. LoL . . . I never thought I would live through my son's teenage years.

@Susan - I really liked your design! You are truly creative.

@Jill - Sounds like your project was a bit more than just a project. What you do is a gift and I hope those around you appreciate you!

Have a good Thursday!
