I agree also on having it checked before you start it.
I have had it ever since I can remember and I know that my dr checks mine at least once a year to make sure my levels are stable. They have had to increase it over the years.

My son was thought to have low thyroid issues when he was born, and I had an issue with it shortly after I had my son, it can be post partum related. But I know my doctor told me that once you start taking that kind of med you will have to take it for the rest of your life...I would get more info and have him run a blood test before you start taking that medicine.

If you put off till tomorrow what you could do today, can you trust yourself to do tomorrow what you couldn't bring yourself to do today?

I just had a question, because I've been googling etc.. and can't find my answer.

I went to the doctor last night, hes monitoring my weight loss. He has never taken a blood test before, and still has yet to do so. He prescribed me (Levothyroxine) It's a medicine to control thyroid.

Well, since hes never done a blood test, and doesn't know what my thyroid is like why would he give that to me? and will it mess my thyroid up if I don't have anything wrong with it?
