emoticon Fumble: I ate 12 mint oreos and watched Tabatha's Salon Takeover instead of going on a scheduled run that was actually a REWARD run. LAME!
emoticon Interception: In October of this year, I was able to run 5 miles. I would have never thought that I could do that last year at this time.

Wednesday
emoticon Fumble: I celebrated my 30th birthday in September for 30 DAYS. I had someone visiting from England to help me celebrate- and we ate out 3 meals a day and drank until the wee hours of the morning EVERY DAY. I gained 12 real pounds (not water weight or 'I still have my belt & earrings on' pounds). I didn't exercise once the entire time.

emoticon Interception: That was my wakeup call and since then I have lost 20 lbs. I wanted to start my thirties off right. I feel like that 30th bday blowout was getting the rest of the bad habits and urges out of my system. Time to grow up and be responsible for my body and my health. Now I'm bringing sexy back- my twenties were awesome- but they were just practice for my thirties!!!!!

Thursday
emoticon Fumble: I spent alot of this year in denial about the 30 lbs I gained back while moving and traveling. I didn't want to be that disappointed in myself after struggling so hard to get down to 190.
emoticon Interception: But I didn't let it become permanent! I snapped out of it- bought a new scale and took my destiny into my own hands. Instead of having a higher weight at the end of the year- I am going to be (as of right now- if I don't lose or gain) 13 lbs lighter than when I started. WOOHOO!!!!

Friday
Fumble: 3 glasses of wine and oreo ice cream :(
Interception: 80 minutes run/walk

Saturday
Fumble: another night of drinking, up until 6 am with friends
Interception: had a great strength workout AND run- met all my caloric/nutrition goals

New tradition ideas for letting go of 2009!
* 1 balloon for every pound I lost this year- let them go in Central Park (where Iknow they will get picked up and not hurt any animals LOL)

* Get a special ornament for the tree that I can put away at the end of the year, letting go of all that I lost in 09

* standard 'write it all down and burn it' option

* write my biggest regrets from 09 on paper airplanes and let them go from the top of the Empire State Building! (this is the one I'm going to do)

* write them down and leave them in a book about ancient history in the New York Public Library.

Fumble: went way over my calorie range because of food choices at a card party

Interception: got up early to strength train, then drove in to campus for an early morning (7AM) spinning class, even though a doctor's appointment(8:45AM) required that I drive back toward home afterwards, only to drive back into campus for work(10:30AM) and yoga on my lunch hour. I really wanted to burn some calories to get it going in that spin class.

Thursday

Fumble: didn't get 8 glasses of water in (again)

Interception: My interview went well, I was hired as a yoga instructor at the university's student activity center. (will start mid-January) This is motivating to me.

Interception: Said no to a sweet tooth last night (swiss rolls, it was a twin pack, said no to both of 'em) I want to be lean more than I want the indulgence!

Wednesday

Fumble: didn't start back in on the one hundred pushups challenge,

Interception: added a step aerobics class on my lunch hour, my DH drove in to campus and finally joined the fitness center (YEAH!). He walked around the track while I used the weight loss program on the elliptical.

Interception: cut my dinner in half and brought half of it home for lunch the next day (scallops, baked potato)

Tuesday

Fumble: didn't drink 8 glasses of water, only 4

Interception: cut my Chipotle vege. burrito in half after checking out the nutrition/calorie information online. Wrapped half of it in foil RIGHT AWAY and tucked it in the frig for my lunch the next day; only ate half of it for Tuesday's dinner which kept me in my calories' range for Tuesday!!!

Interception: The staff kitchen is right next to my office, someone placed snacks on the free-for-all table and I was able to get out of there (alive), without indulging. I had to keep focusing away from the calories those sweets and chips would have added to my daily numbers, let alone, my hips!

Fumble: Not tracking...not exercising...not focusing!!!
Interception: Asked my hubby to join and guide and motivate me at the gym. He knows about the strength training and some things I don't. He agreed and said that he was happy I asked. I have been MEANING to for a long time. I am so happy I did! Not only will it make my body stronger....but my MARRIAGE too!!!

Fumble: I had 3 snicker doodle cookies from Subway. I knew I should have made a healthier decision at the time..just walk away and leave the cookies. Oh well.
Interception: This morning I did 90 minutes of cardio on the elliptical and I've had 3 servings of fruit today.

Wednesday
Fumble: I reported 169 carbs today. I was under my goal. Goal is 182-263, but that was close enough
Interception: I did cardio for 90 minutes, and stayed within my calorie consumption.

Thursday
Fumble: I had a late nite snack of Thanksgiving leftovers. I thought I was over them, but they were calling. I wasn't even hungry.
Interception: I have been attending the gym faithfully for one year this month. I've always had the membership but I'm just now putting it to good use.

Tuesday
Fumble: I ate a lot of leftover frosting from a Thanksgiving cake I baked for dinner with friends.
Interception: I didn't take any bad leftovers home with me.

Wednesday
Fumble: Hit the snooze alarm almost all fall instead of getting up to exercise in the morning
Interception: Hit the snooze alarm once too often, and now I have to get up!

Thursday
Fumble: Often had to run out the door without having breakfast
Interception: Started keeping Clif bars in the trunk of the car so I can always have some breakfast even if I'm rushed

Friday
Fumble: When I start to veer off the path, I tend to keep going so I "get it all out" at once and clear the way to being good again. Which is never the way it happens!
Interception: Now I try not to wreck the car just because I rearended someone, so to speak.

Saturday
Fumble: This is the hard one: I think I can do all this by myself, and my struggles are unique. Something in me makes me think this is important.
Interception: Now I know it's not a matter of being unique or being weak or strong. Strength can come from seeing that you have something to learn and seeing how similar our struggles can be, although the ways we approach them are not.

Your fumbles and interceptions don't have to be anything you did TODAY- they can be something you feel bad about that happened this month or this year too!

This challenge is about the big 2009 picture! It's about forgiving yourself and realizing that you are balanced!

You guys are great!!

Ok, I think I can do this. I have a to admit I am foot ball challenged:-)

Tuesday:
Fumble: I had one small fruit flavoured candy cane. It wasn't even good.
Interception: I did eat healthfully all day. I made my lunch and brought it in to work. I ate a good breakfast and dinner too. I did keep my night snack and maybe I should have skipped it (?).
Wednesday: No fumbles! I did my workout. I stayed within my calories and no junk! And to bring it all home. I made my lunch for tomorrow.

Fumble: Yesterday, major jones for buffalo wings. Ordered those and onion rings - gave rings to husband, ate only half of the wings, but still felt guilty and ate most of the blue cheese dressing with the wings and the salad I substituted for the o-rings.

Interception: Ate oatmeal for breakfast, and salad for lunch with other 4 wings - no dressing. Baby step, but better . . . And did 25 minutes of cardio and speed-walked 3 miles in 45 minutes.

Fumble: Biggest fumble of the year: I joined a gym last march and went only about 10 times. I'm still paying for the membership, but by the time the kids are in bed, I simply don't have the energy (or time) to get there and exercise.

Interception: I joined SP and thanks to the cool fitness exercises it chose for me, I started exercising during the day.

Wednesday
Fumble: Need more motivation. I really have a hard time getting motivated. I need to log in to SP in order to get my daily dose, otherwise I'll fall off the bandwagon.
Interception: Learned to drink (and enjoy drinking) water, which I had never really done until a few months ago.

Thursday
Fumble: Didn't log my food and said YES to a pretty large piece of chocolate cake for my daughter's birthday.
Interception: I had a great day and went for a walk.

Friday
Fumble: Didn't log my food.
Interception: Ate healthy and I'm pretty sure I didn't go over my calorie budget.

Saturday
Fumble: Didn't log my food, for the third day in a row...
Interception: Had a great time with my family.

New tradition ideas for letting go of 2009!
* Tell people I'm committed to loosing weight. Once I told them, I can't look back and cheat.
* Cleaning, cleaning, cleaning. My wardrobe - get rid of the cloths that don't fit. My inbox - why are there more than 250 emails? Start fresh in 2010.
* Each month in 2010, letting go of one bad habit.
* ???

Interception: Dinner will be light and vegie. And no more thoughts of that girl.... She paid way too much!

Interception: This morning I did 90 minutes of cardio on the elliptical and I've had 3 servings of fruit today.

emoticon Fumble: I ate 12 mint oreos and watched Tabatha's Salon Takeover instead of going on a scheduled run that was actually a REWARD run. LAME!

Ok you guys! We finally made it to December, can you believe it? It seems cruel to have the hardest month of the year at the very end! We've been trucking along for 11 months and now comes the final exam. UGH!

So, let's try to remember to keep all the good stuff from the year, all the lessons we learned and start letting go of all the negative of 2009, immediately. Really, why wait til New Year's Eve to let it all go- start cutting the strings on those balloons full of bad air, right now.

Challenge:

Each day this week, list ONE major blip, burp, stumble or fumble that you had that day, this month or this year that you are forgiving yourself for. Stuff happens, we are only human.

THEN, also each day this week, counteract that fumble with ONE winning move (or interception) you had; something you did that day, this month or this year that was an obvious win in your battle.

At the end of the week, come up with FIVE creative ways that you can show, in visual form, that you have let go of all the old things you are leaving behind in 2009. Whether is is pounds, weaknesses, bad habits, old boyfriends, negative mother in laws- WHATEVER. You don't have to actually do them (yet) just brainstorm on fun ways to show your commitment to moving forward.
