I got some good pictures of cedar waxwings, goldfinches and a downy woodpecker yesterday on my walk. Wasn't it a gorgeous day???

Goldfinches continue to walk down the lily wand in my fountain to drink water, while the larger birds think it is a bird bath for bathing!

No new bird sightings for me. I think all the birds are trying to avoid the heat too.

Saw a pelican flying in florida. First time I had seen one fly in real life. Wow those things are big and they look so prehistoric. LOL!!!

I am not very up on birds. If it isn't a robin, cardinal or hummingbird I am pretty much out of my league. Oh I can tell an owl or an eagle. LOL!!!

Weekend of May 19-21 in Detroit Lakes, Becker County, MN... Carrol Henderson will be presenting at the annual Festival of Birds. This is the 25th anniversary of the release of the very first Trumpeter Swans in Minnesota. Check out this link for more info on the event and interesting tidbits on birds!

I saw a yellow-bellied sapsucker today! As well as goldfinches, a ton of robins, red-winged blackbirds (the females are back!) and maybe a purple finch! Fun. I love this time of year!

I didn't see it, but I heard either a cat bird or a mocking bird.
Not sure how to tell them apart.

We have a cardinal that seems to like our backyard. I like their song except when it comes at 6am on a saturday morning. LOL!!!! Once about 4 years ago I walked in to my backyard and there was a humming bird in my hollyhocks. That was exciting as I had not seen one before.

A nice fat robin perched on my Maple tree this morning...most of the birds are sheltering in my windbreak until the sun warms everything up.

This is a board to share the birds you see in your area. Also could share types of seed, suet, feeders you have and sharing about different bird baths, etc. Whatever is of interest to you that you wish to share about the birds in area be that yard, street or city.
