The results are in and what a surprise! This has been a month full of changes as the various teams have jumped around in the standings constantly.

Here are the results for Week 4:
1 - Awesome Avocados 1133 pts
2 - Sexy Strawberries 943 pts
3 - Luscious Lemons 823 pts
4 - Kickin Kiwis 584 pts
5 - Marvelous Mangoes 466 pts

The results for the month overall were very close between the top two teams and even closer between the lower three teams. Here are the final standings:
1 - Sexy Strawberries 9577 pts
2 - Awesome Avocados 9411 pts
3 - Marvelous Mangoes 7531 pts
4 - Kickin Kiwis 7447 pts
5 - Luscious Lemons 7312 pts

This month has been the perfect example of how everyone's points really do make a difference, not just from week to week, but throughout the whole month. The Avocados have had some of the best participation this month overall, with 2 weeks where every member posted their Weekly Update Blogs, and they're the only team who had 100% with the Monthly Update Blogs. Great job ladies!

Everyone has worked hard this month and made the challenge more fun than ever. You should all be very proud of yourselves, regardless of where your team finished!!! Keep up the great work in August!!!

Monday 25th - 100

U – Exercise - None; still having problems with my ankle.

L – Sleep - 25, 9 hours. Still recovering from the plague.
D – Calories - 25, although it's strange suddenly adjusting to a lower calorie intake after a week of no exercise.

Tuesday 26th - 75
B – Blog - Nope. Ah well.
U – Exercise - Nope. I've been officially banned by my GP from all exercise, even my normal work; I have to take a week off and limit myself to minimal pottering around the house after Jr. So it looks like I'm not gonna be doing much this week. Sorry team-mates.
I – Relax - 25, more knitting.
L – Sleep - 25, Got my 8 hours, 11 till 7.
D – Calories - 25

Wednesday 27th - 100

U – Exercise - Not allowed.
I – Relax - 25, although you probably don't want to know what I've been doing ;-)
L – Sleep - 25; got a good 8 hours, then even got a cat-nap.
D – Calories - 25, as long as I don't have any problems with my self control tonight; dinner's cooked and ready for me, and accounted for in the planner.

Thursday 28th - 115

U – Exercise: 65! 20 minutes of upper body and abs bellydance workout at the desk to keep me off of my ankle, things like belly rolls, belly pops, snake arms, undulations, chest isolations, etc. And a 45 light cardio introduction to zumba when I realized my ankle wasn't actually killing me yet; just a slightly slower version of the moves and the names. Just don't tell my GP, huh?
I – Relax: 25 - Crochetted me a hat!
L – Sleep: No :-( Only slept 6, although I'm thoroughly planning to go back to bed in a minute.
D – Calories: No :-( Technically yes, but no. I broke the calorie barrier after midnight, so TECHNICALLY no, but i say is still totally counts as a failure. Ah well.

Friday 29th - 105
B – Blog: 25 - I'm getting good at this :-)
U – Exercise: 5 - Not much, but I did the Martine M upper body workout twice while Mr. Master was putting the baby to bed.
I – Relax: 25 - Played games with Mr. Master, did some crochet, watched Babylon 5...in some ways, a lazy day.
L – Sleep: 25 - Yep! Got 12 hours last night; catching up for yesterday.
D – Calories: 25, even though I had a couple of treats today! I was a bit naughty in that I missed lunch, though; I just kinda snacked through the day instead. Ah well.

This part you should all be familiar with by now. This week there’s a few catches along the way. For each day that you post a daily blog, you will earn 25 points. On Friday or Saturday you are still required to post a Weekly Update Blog, which will earn you 100 points. Remember that this blog must tell us about your week… what your strengths and weaknesses were. For those who do not post a WUB, you will lose the 100 points. In addition, you will not earn the points for any daily update blogs you completed. On Sunday, you will need to pust a Monthly Update Blog. If you’re still competing this week, it’s because you’ve been with us during the entire month so this shouldn’t be difficult. For the MUB, you must give us an overall update of your month and what you would have like to have done differently. The MUB will earn you 200 points – or cost you 200 points if you don’t post one.

U – Up and At ‘Em
There are two parts to this week’s exercise portion:
Part 1 – You must make your fitness tracker visible on your SparkPage and must track your fitness minutes there in order to get credit for them. For those who may not know how to do this, you need to go to your SparkPage, choose the icon to edit your SparkPage, and at the top right, click on the button that says “Share My Fitness Tracker”.
Part 2 - Only certain types of exercise will count. Exercise done as part of your daily routine – any done as part of your job, taking care of your children, or daily household cleaning, will not count. The points this week need to be for deliberate exercise – swimming, running, dvds, etc. In your points tracker on the challenge thread you must post what kind of exercise you did and how many minutes you did. Each minute will count for 1 point.

I – Invest in Yourself
This is where you get to relax! Take at least 15 minutes each day to yourself and do something you enjoy that requires you to get off your feet and chill out. Tell us what you did on your points tracker and earn 25 points.

L – Lay Down for a Good Night’s Sleep
We’re going to throw the sleep portion back in but it’s going to be a little more difficult this week. In order to earn the 25 points per day, you must get at least 8 hours of sleep. You can count the hours for the night before or the night of, but whichever method you use to count your sleep, be sure to do it the same for the whole week.

D – Diet
The final part of the challenge this week is to focus on your calorie intake. Whether you use SP, Weight Watchers, or whatever other method, you will earn 25 points for staying within your recommended calorie range.

All points must be posted no later than Tuesday in order to be counted. Winners for the month will be announced on Wednesday, as well as SparkGoodies given. This part you should all be familiar with by now. This week there’s a few catches along the way. For each day that you post a daily blog, you will earn 25 points. On Friday or Saturday you are still required to post a Weekly Update Blog, which will earn you 100 points. Remember that this blog must tell us about your week… what your strengths and weaknesses were. For those who do not post a WUB, you will lose the 100 points. In addition, you will not earn the points for any daily update blogs you completed. On Sunday, you will need to pust a Monthly Update Blog. If you’re still competing this week, it’s because you’ve been with us during the entire month so this shouldn’t be difficult. For the MUB, you must give us an overall update of your month and what you would have like to have done differently. The MUB will earn you 200 points – or cost you 200 points if you don’t post one.

U – Up and At ‘Em
There are two parts to this week’s exercise portion:
Part 1 – You must make your fitness tracker visible on your SparkPage and must track your fitness minutes there in order to get credit for them. For those who may not know how to do this, you need to go to your SparkPage, choose the icon to edit your SparkPage, and at the top right, click on the button that says “Share My Fitness Tracker”.
Part 2 - Only certain types of exercise will count. Exercise done as part of your daily routine – any done as part of your job, taking care of your children, or daily household cleaning, will not count. The points this week need to be for deliberate exercise – swimming, running, dvds, etc. In your points tracker on the challenge thread you must post what kind of exercise you did and how many minutes you did. Each minute will count for 1 point.

I – Invest in Yourself
This is where you get to relax! Take at least 15 minutes each day to yourself and do something you enjoy that requires you to get off your feet and chill out. Tell us what you did on your points tracker and earn 25 points.

L – Lay Down for a Good Night’s Sleep
We’re going to throw the sleep portion back in but it’s going to be a little more difficult this week. In order to earn the 25 points per day, you must get at least 8 hours of sleep. You can count the hours for the night before or the night of, but whichever method you use to count your sleep, be sure to do it the same for the whole week.

D – Diet
The final part of the challenge this week is to focus on your calorie intake. Whether you use SP, Weight Watchers, or whatever other method, you will earn 25 points for staying within your recommended calorie range.

All points must be posted no later than Tuesday in order to be counted. Winners for the month will be announced on Wednesday, as well as SparkGoodies given. Individual standings will be posted, but there will be no goodies given based on those standings – after all, this is a team challenge! Good luck to everyone!!!

Sunday –
B – Blog: Well, even though today is supposed to be a free day, I'm going to get started anyway. I can't hurt, right? ;-)

U – Exercise: Not sure I'm going to get much in today - dealing with a migraine still and am really getting annoyed with it. Maybe I'll try a few yoga poses later to see if the stretching and breating help.

I – Relax: Trying to do this one today, but it's difficult to do with this damn migraine.

L – Sleep: I slept for about 7 hours last night, but really don't feel like it. Bad dreams, tossing & turning and still feeling like crap.

Attended and sung with the choir for another member's funeral (he'd been my grade school principal, my computer teacher, my Jr. Choir director, so many things) then came home from that in time to take my oldest to the library for his little summer school connect group. Now I'm home finally and praying I get the phone call soon that tells me I'm a working mom. I have another 2 or 3 hours max that I have to wait to hear from her. What a day. - 25 Points

U – Exercise: I'll admit none for today, just to tired and too much going on. But, I did look into my local YMCA to see if it's something we can do for somewhere to work out and hopefully swim if they have a pool. - 0 Points

LOL Did some reading, went up to my local YMCA to find out about their financial assistance program to gain membership (I'll be turning in the application very soon & the day I turn it in, I'll get a free 2 week pass to use while they review the app) so I can really start buckling down on exercising. My boys will be starting school in about a month so I'll have time to go and exercise while they're in school. Even if I ever pick up this position I'm waiting on I'll be able to head in early to work out because they open at 5 AM. Go Me!! - 25 Points

B – Blog: Since I slipped up and didn't do yesterday's full blog till 1 AM today, I'm starting today's really quick before I go to bed. Yes, it's 1 AM and I'm still awake for the moment... WOW!!... I fell asleep around 4 AM finally only to be woken out of a sound sleep around 8 AM with severe chest pain radiating to my back as well as severe abdominal pain. Went to the ER this time without waiting and it turns out it's my gallbladder again. I'd ended up in the hospital for nearly the whole week of St. Patrick's Day and they weren't sure if it was my gallbladder, my appendix and/or ruptured ovarian cysts. This time they are sure it's my gallbladder and I will have to have surgery soon to remove it. NOT the way I wanted to spend my Wednesday for sure... - 25 Points

B – Blog: What a week, what a day. Feeling better today than I have all week even though I'm not quite 100% yet. My boys had a dentist appointment today since their first visit ever was with a really crappy dentist. This time, they went to the group my fam & I have been using for years (since I was a kid) and they did excellent!! No cavities for either of them and both got nifty new toothbrushes so they're happy :-) They're spending the night at my parents so hubby and I are enjoying a quiet night at home. Feels good to relax for awhile. I'll be taking a nice warm shower in the morning to really start the weekend off right. - 25 Points

U – Exercise: Re-borrowed the "Yoga Just My Size with Megan Garcia" from the library and decided to actually do it today since I knew it was a gentle enough routine - it felt so good!!! I am so grateful that I did it!! I was nervous about the stretching hurting my gallbladder, but, it didn't hurt at all!! Hooray!! - 45 Points

I – Relax: Also borrowed Megan Garcia's book "Mega Yoga" and enjoyed reading it while my husband took a nap & the boys are at my parents. So good to read and not hear "Mom!" every other paragraph! LOL - 25 Points

B – Blog: I thought I'd get the majority of this post done while my boys are still with my parents and hubby is still at work. It's been a tough week. Monday and Tuesday flew by and then Wednesday I woke up with all that pain & spent most of the day in the ER. I've spent the last 2 days doing a lot of research on non-surgical ways to treat my gallbladder because as much as doing the surgery makes sense, there are as many reasons to not do it right now. I'm looking into making even smarter food choices as well as trying peppermint oil capsules to help break up the gallstones and smooth out digestion. I've also learned that drinking more (organic) apple juice, pear juice and vegetable juices will help as well. Dealing with the pain has kept me from doing any working out this week until yesterday when I dared to do a gentle yoga routine again just to help me relax. It felt good, but today I'm hurting a little more again. Not sure if it's the stretching or if it's what I had for dinner, or perhaps a combination. This has been a rough week and definately not the way I hoped to finish out July. But, I'm grateful for all of you and how motivating and uplifting you all are. This would have been harder to deal with if I'd not had SparkPeople and M.O.M.M.Y. to W.O.W.W.Y. Boot Camp to help. Thank You Everyone!!! - 100 Points

B – Blog: It's nearly 11 PM here in Chi-Town and I'm trying to type this as fast as I can at my in-law's before we head home and I don't get to another computer till midnight or after. It's been one heck of a month. The first three weeks went really well and I enjoyed having something fun to help me focus on making positive changes in my life. The final week was a lot harder to deal with when I got blindsided with the gallbladder pain. But, as of today 98% of the pain is gone and I've been able to do 3 straight days of my yoga routine so I'm feeling really optimistic about things. I had my moments where I wanted to cave to emotional eating while stressing waiting to hear word about the job... but then I'd remember all of you here and I didn't want to disappoint anyone so I pulled myself together and found something else to do - usually writing or reading till the urge passed. I still have a lot to learn about healthy eating and I'm doing better at portion control. I am grateful for having found SparkPeople and M.O.M.M.Y. to W.O.W.W.Y. Boot Camp!! You have all been such an inspiration for me!! - 200 Points

Today (Sunday) will be a free day for everyone – no requirements or points to earn today. For Monday, July 25th thru Sunday, July 31st, we will be BUILDing on everything we’ve learned on our weightloss journey.

B – Blog
This part you should all be familiar with by now. This week there’s a few catches along the way. For each day that you post a daily blog, you will earn 25 points. On Friday or Saturday you are still required to post a Weekly Update Blog, which will earn you 100 points. Remember that this blog must tell us about your week… what your strengths and weaknesses were. For those who do not post a WUB, you will lose the 100 points. In addition, you will not earn the points for any daily update blogs you completed. On Sunday, you will need to pust a Monthly Update Blog. If you’re still competing this week, it’s because you’ve been with us during the entire month so this shouldn’t be difficult. For the MUB, you must give us an overall update of your month and what you would have like to have done differently. The MUB will earn you 200 points – or cost you 200 points if you don’t post one.

U – Up and At ‘Em
There are two parts to this week’s exercise portion:
Part 1 – You must make your fitness tracker visible on your SparkPage and must track your fitness minutes there in order to get credit for them. For those who may not know how to do this, you need to go to your SparkPage, choose the icon to edit your SparkPage, and at the top right, click on the button that says “Share My Fitness Tracker”.
Part 2 - Only certain types of exercise will count. Exercise done as part of your daily routine – any done as part of your job, taking care of your children, or daily household cleaning, will not count. The points this week need to be for deliberate exercise – swimming, running, dvds, etc. In your points tracker on the challenge thread you must post what kind of exercise you did and how many minutes you did. Each minute will count for 1 point.

I – Invest in Yourself
This is where you get to relax! Take at least 15 minutes each day to yourself and do something you enjoy that requires you to get off your feet and chill out. Tell us what you did on your points tracker and earn 25 points.

L – Lay Down for a Good Night’s Sleep
We’re going to throw the sleep portion back in but it’s going to be a little more difficult this week. In order to earn the 25 points per day, you must get at least 8 hours of sleep. You can count the hours for the night before or the night of, but whichever method you use to count your sleep, be sure to do it the same for the whole week.

D – Diet
The final part of the challenge this week is to focus on your calorie intake. Whether you use SP, Weight Watchers, or whatever other method, you will earn 25 points for staying within your recommended calorie range.

All points must be posted no later than Tuesday in order to be counted. Winners for the month will be announced on Wednesday, as well as SparkGoodies given. Individual standings will be posted, but there will be no goodies given based on those standings – after all, this is a team challenge! Good luck to everyone!!!

L – Lay Down for a Good Night’s Sleep
We’re going to throw the sleep portion back in but it’s going to be a little more difficult this week. In order to earn the 25 points per day, you must get at least 8 hours of sleep. You can count the hours for the night before or the night of, but whichever method you use to count your sleep, be sure to do it the same for the whole week.

D – Diet
The final part of the challenge this week is to focus on your calorie intake. Whether you use SP, Weight Watchers, or whatever other method, you will earn 25 points for staying within your recommended calorie range.

All points must be posted no later than Tuesday in order to be counted. Winners for the month will be announced on Wednesday, as well as SparkGoodies given. Individual standings will be posted, but there will be no goodies given based on those standings – after all, this is a team challenge! Good luck to everyone!!!

First off, I want to apologize for the delay in getting this week’s challenge posted. It’s been a long week and I lost track of the days. Today (Sunday) will be a free day for everyone – no requirements or points to earn today. For Monday, July 25th thru Sunday, July 31st, we will be BUILDing on everything we’ve learned on our weightloss journey.

B – Blog
This part you should all be familiar with by now. This week there’s a few catches along the way. For each day that you post a daily blog, you will earn 25 points. On Friday or Saturday you are still required to post a Weekly Update Blog, which will earn you 100 points. Remember that this blog must tell us about your week… what your strengths and weaknesses were. For those who do not post a WUB, you will lose the 100 points. In addition, you will not earn the points for any daily update blogs you completed. On Sunday, you will need to pust a Monthly Update Blog. If you’re still competing this week, it’s because you’ve been with us during the entire month so this shouldn’t be difficult. For the MUB, you must give us an overall update of your month and what you would have like to have done differently. The MUB will earn you 200 points – or cost you 200 points if you don’t post one.

U – Up and At ‘Em
There are two parts to this week’s exercise portion:
Part 1 – You must make your fitness tracker visible on your SparkPage and must track your fitness minutes there in order to get credit for them. For those who may not know how to do this, you need to go to your SparkPage, choose the icon to edit your SparkPage, and at the top right, click on the button that says “Share My Fitness Tracker”.
Part 2 - Only certain types of exercise will count. Exercise done as part of your daily routine – any done as part of your job, taking care of your children, or daily household cleaning, will not count. The points this week need to be for deliberate exercise – swimming, running, dvds, etc. In your points tracker on the challenge thread you must post what kind of exercise you did and how many minutes you did. Each minute will count for 1 point.
