That's great!

I look at the maintaining we end up doing during sort of rough weeks as practice for the end when we have to maintain our goal! :)

Way to go for maintaining through challenging weeks...

This week, my weekend resolved got me a nice loss and finally, after months of stagnation, I'm on the less than side of 175!

Wow, did I call it, or what? I thought I would maintain, and I did. Between TOM, not getting enough sleep, amping up my strength training, and SP increasing my calorie goal to eat and decreasing my calories goal to burn (that makes no sense, btw!)... I thought I would be really disappointed. I am a little, but mostly I'm proud that--despite all the craziness--the good habits I've been working so hard on kept me steady!

Got a workout in on Friday morning...since then, nothing! I'm really focused on my food lately but missed breakfast this morning! It was just a hectic morning for me! I wish I would have grabbed something but I'm just going to have to a bigger lunch to battle with that.

Mine was the same. Not stellar, but not as bad as it would have been. I went over a little on Saturday, but I got in a really good workouts Saturday and Sunday, so overall I was happy with myself. I wasn't as good with my water though... Weekends are difficult to remember to drink my water since I'm not sitting at a desk with a huge glass in front of me. So that plus TOM is probably going to make me break even this week.
We'll see on Wednesday! emoticon

Thank you. I kept your encouragement in mind this weekend and I managed to do fine. I would give myself a 'B'. I didn't overdo it on the indulgences and I had two 'A' workouts. I managed my sweet tooth by using one of the Sparkrecipes. I didn't eat out once this weekend. Mostly, I ate healthy food. But, I'm short of an 'A' because I still managed to go over my calorie limits by a bit...but not as much as usual.

...my resolve faded over the weekend as other concerns took over. But, all in all I'm feeling pretty good. Wednesday weigh in is the real test.

Something just went off in my motivation. I looked at my weight loss since Aug. 2010. It's been up and down. In the aggregate, I'm down two pounds since then. But, I'm suddenly finding myself fed up with this crawl....

I'm declaring here before this small group (because I'm too afraid of the past to do it before a larger group, or people I see everyday) to do well this weekend. Weekends are my weakness. My mom always had tasty treats. When I visit I always have to try a few bites of all she offers.

But, not this weekend. I'm not doing that this weekend. I'm going to eat well this weekend. That is my pledge before you...

I'll check back on Monday (or can I delete this message if my resolve wavers?--j.k....m.b.) emoticon

Morning, Ladies!
I am VERY excited about this week. I started back to Curves since my husband moved to second shift, so he can watch the baby in the mornings. I've gone the past 3 days, and I feel awesome! Eating is on track, too! And I lost 4.5 pounds this week!
emoticon emoticon emoticon

12 pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight. I'll be seeing that by the end of March, I think--which is perfect. 9 months to put it on; 9 months to take it off.

Awesome job KELLSOUTH!

GORIANA- a loss is a loss!

I started out at 193..went up to 194..and am back down to 193.3...so that's a good sign! I'm just starting to commit myself this week! Last week was really hard personally for me! Excuses, I know...but I'm getting life in order now! :)

Congratulations.

I'm doing ok. But, for all the work it seems like, it wasn't the big payoff I would like (only 1# [0.6%] difference)

...I would feel fine about that if it weren't for the 0% loss last week.

I don't want to; but I'm kind of bummed.

Glad you had a safe trip. It's so hard to stay on track when traveling! At least for me... Fast food or gas station fare while you're on the road... And depending on your destination and reason for traveling (holiday, wedding, vacation, other) your food choices usually aren't the best once you get wherever you're going.

But you're here and ready to get back on track, so that's awesome!!

I had kind of an off-track weekend. Almost everyone in the house was sick, including me, so that means comfort food and whatever is easy to fix!

Hi everyone. I'm Katrina. I'm 25 and my daughter will be 11 months in two days. I was also overweight when I got pregnant although I was already on here trying to lose weight. For exercise, I have been playing Dance Dance Revolution about 30 minutes a day lately. I also need to make sure I drink enough water and eat healthier. I am hoping to lose 8 pounds by the end of February.

I do the aerobic games more than anything..like hula hoop and step.

I like to go into the My Routines part and create my own little routine based off the groups they have or just some strength and yoga moves that I like.

I struggle with night time snacking...I do really really well all day long and then during my down time I just botch it all! I think that's why I do well with evening workouts. Gives me something healthy as a distraction!

For working out, I use the Wii Fit. I've got the Biggest Loser game and am in the midst of a 4 week plan. It's nice to have the routine done for me. But I also have a ton of DVD's and will rotate between them depending on how I'm feeling. I'm just kind of actually getting into a groove and feeling like I can actually exercise regularly!

I don't have internet at home...so I can't do any videos and such off this site or anything like that.

CULTIVATINGB, I stream the videos. To see some of the ones I've found helpful search for titles by 'Self', 'Crunch', 'Trainer's Edge', '10 Minute Solution'...those ought to get you started, then Netflix will suggest more titles. However, as someone noted many popular titles are not available for streaming yet.

I've found several videos on Netflix. Most you have to get in the mail, but several you can watch instantly. My favorites are Pilates with Ellen Barrett, Walking with Leslie Sansone, and I just put 30 Day Shred in my Queue.

I do okay with the dieting portion of getting fit, although I sometimes have difficulty with snacking and acohol. As of now I am cutting out all alcohol because I find it too hard to track and not worth the calories. I am wondering if anyone has any good snack ideas that are easy and tasty but not prepackaged and processed?

I always struggle with being consistent with exercise. I always feel so good after I do it, but I can think of a million reasons why I don't have time or energy! I enjoy Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred.

Goriana, where are you finding the work out videos on Netflix? Are they available to watch instantly?

Hello. I just wanted to stop by and say hello. I've been on this website a long time. But, this is the first time I'm trying to use the social aspect of it to get me going.

Yesterday I worked out with a friend. That really helps me keep going. So, hopefully, the online version will be handy too as it is often difficult to coordinate schedules.

Besides working out with a buddy, I've recently found the workout videos on Netflix. There are a variety that keep things interesting.

But, for me the gym is the best place to get sweaty.

However, my biggest challenge is staying away from the treats that I find at the house...

I too am excited to be buddied up on this challenge.

p.s. I'm also a member of TOPS where we get weighed in every week. I've found that helps me from backsliding too much.

So I have a question and hopefully - if you guys would like - we can help each other with our weaknesses. I know most people have things that they like and things that they dislike or are just not good at when it comes to nutrition and exercise. What are yours?

Personally, I'm doing pretty well with the 10-minute videos for the 28-day challenge. I find when I tell myself that it's only 10 minutes, I'm more apt to do the video and then some cardio because it feels good to get moving. In the past, though, I've had trouble with staying entertained long enough to actually lose some weight. I notice SP has a million videos and suggestions on how to keep things interesting and I plan to utilize every single one of them! But is there anything you guys do that keeps exercising interesting for you?

As far as nutrition goes, I have the hardest time eating enough fruits and protein. It just feels like so much protein and there are few days that I eat enough without having chicken or something with every single meal! Fortunately, I've been able to plan meals ahead of time with the guidance of my nutrition tracker. That makes things a little easier because I know what I need to make for the next day and if I decide to make some minor changes, I'll know if I'm still within my ranges (or not too far outside of them) to keep well-balanced.

How about you ladies??

Hi all! I'm Kendra and I'm 24 (25 next week). I have a 7 month old daughter. I was overweight to begin with when I got pregnant and am looking to lose the very last of my pregnancy weight plus some. I want to be a very active mother and really be there for my daughter in the future!

I would ideally like to lose 50lbs to be at a healthy BMI...but I'd be happy with just 20lbs off right now! I know it takes time and I'm just looking to instill a healthy lifestyle in my family!

HI everyone!! I'm Kelli. I'm 28 and I have a 7 month old son. I was already about 90 pounds overweight when I got pregnant, though I hid it pretty well. I worked at Curves throughout most of my pregnancy, so I did get plenty of exercise. But that didn't stop me from gaining around 50 pounds... Ergh.

I had a wonderful pregnancy with no complications, GD and such. But he was late and I ended up with an induction and then a c-section when they found out he was breech.

I'm down about 25 pounds from my highest pregnancy weight, and I'd like to lose about 75 more before we try for our second child.

I feel like I've gotten a good start my first month on SP, so I'm looking forward to this challenge pushing me even further!

Hi ladies! I can't wait to get this started. I need the accountability, or I will not stay on track.

Anyhow, I'm Ashley, I am 21 and have a daughter who will be 2 in March. I am married and will be celebrating our 3rd wedding anniversary in May! I have wanted to lose the weight for so long now, but never stay motivated long enough to do it. Last year I lost 20 lbs and then just stopped, and of course ended up gaining it all back. I want to do this for daughter, but I have to do this for me! One thing I have to learn is to start putting myself first, my life as of now revolves around my daughter and husband. This year is my year, and I will prove to everyone that I can do this! I look forward to getting to know you ladies and kicking butt in this challenge!

I tried to friend everyone in the group, so I hope no one minds!

I am 31 (almost 32) I have a feeling I am one of the oldest in the group, I'll try not to slow you girls down! I have two daughters, aged 4 and 2. I did really well on spark last year, and lost 42 lbs. I did some back sliding over the past few months and just got up the nerve to step on the scale and it looks like I only did 6 1/2 lbs worth of damage, so I am back in gear and on track to finish what I started last year.

I want to lose 15 lbs by March 1st. My girlfriends and I are going to a Lady Gaga concert on March 1st, (yay!) and I want to be able to buy a cute outfit and feel good about myself. My overall goal is to lose an additional 30 lbs before my 8 year wedding anniversary in September.

I am going to be doing 30 day shred as well as exercise bike and additional strength training. Also, we just got the kinect for xbox and I am doing a few games through there, but I am not counting them as part of my work out.

What are your individual situations and goals?

Good morning, ladies!!!

My name is Alyssa and I have a 9 month old daughter. I got put on a ton of medications while I was pregnant for various reasons and all of them...literally, all of them...caused weight gain. I would like to say that I ate the way I should have and exercised during my pregnancy, but that wasn't the case. I didn't change my diet - except cutting out caffine, etc. And because of one of my medical problems, the doctors deemed it too dangerous for me to exercise until about a month ago...so I have about 50 pounds to shed before my goal (January 1st of next year).

I just wanted to say hello this morning before heading to the gym in the aftermath of this winter storm that we had down South. I guess that's one nice thing about living on a military installation...everything's usually open when the rest of the state shuts down!

I look forward to getting to know you all over the next month and a half! I know that we can do this!!
