I am so glad you liked the tea, I had one this morning after 3 hours at the eye doctor with my 4 year old (well almost 4). It was either the non-fat starbucks or an entire cheesecake! haha

went to make coffee this morning and no cream, so I waited for Kroger's to open and my MIL thought it would be nice if I picked us up a couple of Starbucks while I was over there . . . she forgets Im watching what I eat/drink. Anyways, I had my first Nonfat Chai Tea Latte . . . yum!!

Picked up a bunch of great produce while I was there. If you havent been to the new Kroger on 99, they have a pretty nice produce and health food section.

HEFFIEW, that is great to hear. I have done really well since I started walking on by when I see a Starbucks. I have never tried their teas, looking forward to it.

And Jane, he is in ITS

Hey Cisca - you didn't mention that John works for BP. I am in Treasury, so I don't often work with the people that actually find or make the products. What does he do.

Well they there is a chai green tea!!! and yes it is good. I am a fan of green tea as well, but prefer chai. Starbucks and me have a wonderful relationship. I get the non-fat and allow it in my calories for the day. I only get it about once a week and that is my treat or my stress "food". The Orange Spice is good as well.
Sorry got excited about tea, haha, but as far as the water goes I will agree with Jane and Kim. I try to get 64oz of water in and usually do at work, but at home I drink ice tea with splenda.

Thank you Kim and Jane. Kim, I've done that before. . . buy a box and it gets pushed to the back of the cupboard until it's eventually tossed. But I am trying to like it and not use it as a replacement since the antioxidants are supposed to be good for me.

I may have to try the chai. I have a girlfriend on FB that highly recommends it. She drinks the starbucks chai, is that "legal"? That's a good strategy Jane. Tea does not illicit the urge to smoke that coffee still does for me. Welcome back, btw. Did I tell you John works at BP?

I feel basically the same as Jane on what counts as water.

I bought a large quantity of green tea a couple years back and have made it 1 time. It just didn't taste the same as what I had in the Chinese restaurant. I need to learn how long to steep it for my taste. Of course, it's been a couple years so I'm sure all the nutritional value has long since gone on it's merry way. Due to that, I just don't buy it at the store. I know I should.

I was never much of a tea drinker before trying to get healthier, and even through most of my weight loss period, I would occasionally drink bottled Lipton Diet Green Tea as a replacement for soda, but never really drank much tea. I have always been a coffee drinker.

There are varying opinions on the "what counts as water" debate. The board dietitian says any liquid counts as water - whether its caffinated or not. My view has always been that if its not adding a bunch of calories or chemicals to my diet, it has the same value as water.

When I quit smoking last year, Heather introduced me to chai tea. I replaced coffee with chai tea in the afternoons when I would usually smoke with my coffee and I have since become a tea fan - and usually drink it in the afternoons instead of coffee.

Anyway - I like chai tea, green tea, and tazo's calm tea (chamomile). I am still trying new things to see what teas I like, but I am really starting to understand the appeal.

Given all the great things I read about Green Tea, I picked some up and started drinking a cup of two a day. I thought I also read somewhere that it can be counted as a water serving?? I know I really need to get this 8 glasses of water thing down . . . I had no idea something so simple would be difficult for me. . . just curious about the tea.

And, if any of you drink it, I'd love to hear some of your recommendations. I just got the Lipton Green with honey and lemon that someone over in the recipes board mentioned.
