There has been much discussion on here about Estroven and how it is a natural supplements to take care of many of our peri-menopausal symptoms. I've used it many times, myself, and praised it. It took away my hot flashes, and I was thankful for that. I stopped taking it, then started again. After taking it for 90 days (the 2nd time), it wasn't taking my hot flashes away....(partly my own fault for not taking it the same exact time everyday, I suppose.) But, anyway, I decided to quit taking it. I figured that my hot flashes weren't that bad (they aren't), and that I would just save the expense. This morning, I've been reading a current issue (March 2012) of Health magazine. There is an article about soy. It mentions that there was a previous belief of soy being something that those at risk for breast cancer should avoid. There are differing opinions about that. It ALSO mentions to AVOID supplements with SOY ISOFLAVONES b/c "research hasn't yet determined how much of it is safe to take." Estroven has the soy isoflavones in it. What this tells me is that we ALL need to do our own research on something before we take it. Discuss with your DR, also, if you have questions. Drs sometimes will be in favor of certain supplements (when enough is known about them.) Wow. This is another reminder of being careful. emoticon

Wow! BOB: do research on the Formula your are taking. You can try googling, "side affect of ---"

Or you can google, "side affects --- of each ingredient in the Formula"

From what I've read, our hormones are constantly fluctuating. You may be overdosing on the Formula.

For example, see Topic "progesterone Cream" that I introduced.

Hello Ladies,

Thanks for posting this. I am one who loves going the herbal and as natural as possible way. I have been taking for some time now a pill called PMS Formula by Natural Factors. It regulates my periods helps with my mood swings. At least it did help with my mood swings. Now I am moody more often then I like and I don't know what to do about it. These pills had worked well for so long. For me right now my worst symptom is Moodiness. I have never had hot flashes or night sweats. For some reason they scare me. Silly I know. My doctor has told me that I can't be in perimenopause as I am not 50 yet. I think that is horse cocky! I read a book when I was 36 about perimenopause as all of these horrid symptoms started showing up. The book said that you could start as early as 37. So close enough for me. I was also told that if your mother went into perimenopause early so will you. My mother was 40. Well I am 41 now and fell like I just want this to be done! I can't wait to be done. But then it's like what will be on the other side? Eek. The unknown.

LOL Not been paying much attention. Been taking 1-3 for a couple of years. hmmmm

BTW, be sure to add the supplement to your food tracker. If it is like mine, it is 10 calories per.

well, if you are taking 3, what have you noticed? Has it helped any with your symptoms? And no, it's not by weight. It's pretty much what is recommended on the bottle.

Interesting. I'm taking 3! Eye doc recommended 3 for dry eye problems.

Maybe dosage is in accordance with weight?

One sounds fine. Oh, heard that it takes a while (maybe a month) to notice a difference.

She said at the very least one pill a day which is 1,000 to 1,200 mg. Two pills a day is recommended. I'm going to start out with one a day.

I just got back from my annual exam with my gyn. I hadn't been since before peri-men. She asked if I wanted to go on hormones and I said not right now. My symptoms are bearable at this point. Then she recommend I take a fish oil supplement....which I had been thinking about doing anyway. She said it's been shown to help symptoms. I guess I hadn't heard that before. I've heard of many other things it was supposed to help but not that one.

Just thought I'd share that advice with every one.

Hi everyone. I just joined this site this morning. I am throwing out a question to you all, which will assist me as apparently, my dermatologist can't figure out.

I have been having mosquito bites for sometime now which leave marks when the infection clears up. About a month or so ago I noticed strange small bumps suddenly appearing on my back to my shoulders....which are not mosquito bites. I assumed it may be a reaction to detergent and softener which I have now changed...but my girlfriend said it may be due to hormomal changes. Strangely, a lady came up to me at the supermarket last week and asked me if the bumps are due to menopause....and this had me thinking that I am blaming detergent and softener when it may be menopausal.

The funny thing is that I have heard my older friends complaining about their hot flashes, irritability, etc. and having not experienced these for myself and just living each day as it comes, you tend to forget that you are reaching or at menopausal stage of life.

I have checked various websites on menopause but this is not noted as a symptom.........does anyone here experience such a problem??

I take Reliv's SoySentials.

It "contains a unique blend of soy protein (a whopping 10 grams per serving), potent antioxidants, probiotics and herbs to ease the symptoms of PMS and menopause. The carefully balanced ingredients work together to promote bone health, support the immune system and keep your body performing at its peak"

I take it only when I start feeling hormonal. I should be taking it more often, however it is a bit beyond my budget. However, I'm now feeling the need to take a bit of it every day and increase it when I need to.

I also take Reliv's Classic (multi-vit & min), Innergize and Fibrestore, daily. I should be taking it twice a day; however, it also is a bit beyond my budget.

Reliv is a network marketing company. The scientist who developed Infamil, developed these products.

As with Cindy, I am not trying to sell anything. That is why I haven't mentioned this before in any of the Topics.

emoticon Brandtsgirl. I am going to try some of this. Every month is just too much of a surprise of moods, indigestion, pain, hot flashes... just all around abnormal-ness. I don't want to deal with it. Maybe this will be the key.

I am very alternative medicine/herbs/homeopathy...... minded.

I absolutely swear by two different products that I use daily. They did not work at first, I was still dripping in sweat in bed and flashing like mad, but with continued use, both are gone, and my periods are back and on time too.

Hi.
I just started the treatment today. Mine are made in a compounding lab. I have to rub it in my skin on my arm three times a day. I am hoping this helps me lose weight. I eat healthy but am so tired to work out. I noticed today I feel real tired after first dose. I hope it improves after a few days. emoticon

Hi, I am new to this site but wondering if any of you have any ideas on how to prevent menopausal weight gain. I am eating a low carb diet, exercise, but still is happening.
Any suggestions? Thanks so much.

Thanks Cindy -

I try to take a multi-vit, but need to make this a daily habit.

I am not familar with " Extra Strength ESTROBLEND walmart brand of estroven."
or what Estroven is, but sounds like it has lots of natural vits and stuff and will have to look into this one.

I am finding lately that my moods can go from
emoticon to emoticon and I need to figure out a way to control or help this as well as the cravings and the depressed feeling days. I do find exercise is very beneficial and try to revert to this as much as possible. I have to refocus on eating healthier - the days are ok the nights have been not so great lately.

Hello Everyone,

I haven't been active on this team but I'm here for the same reason everyone else is. I've been searching our team page a bit and this seems to be the place to pose my question?

Does anyone or has anyone taken bio-identical hormones? You know these are plant based. I've had incredible success with them BUT the price is high for me presently. I've moved far away from my doctor an AMA certified physician who really monitored my progress and prescription. I went to a compound pharmacy to purchase. There are many sources on line but I think it is hard to gauge without a doctor. I am interested in hearing from others who have had experience with them. Thanks

Julie

Thank you for the information Cindy. I'll keep that in mind if I need to start taking something.
I'm not 100% certain that I'm perimenopausal at this point. I say this because of other health issues that may be masking the symptoms.
But I'll sure keep this in mind. emoticon emoticon

Before I list this I want every one to know that I'm NOT trying to doing any kind of advertising for this or any product. I'm only sharing with those who are asking for help or seeking ideas of what they can do this is NATURAL. So please don't think this for I'm not. I'm only listing what I use.
I'm just sharing with any one on the team what I do use that I've found to help me in going through with hot flashes, and mood swings.

Now this is what I use;

I'm going to start this;

This is what I do & I have done it for years and plan to take this & use it until it's not longer needed.

I use Extra Strength ESTROBLEND walmart brand of estroven.
What has this have in it;
Vit E
Thiamine
Ribol
nican
vit B6
Folic Acid
VITB 12
cal
Phoshp
Sele
Chromium
ESTROVEN BLEND
cranberry extract
black cohosh
Isoflavones
& a few other things.
I take this daily 1 pill with my breakfast. and I've taken this for 10 years.

I also know that when I do exercise it is also a key factor and it makes me feel so good.
And eating right is also a help.
I will post more as I find more ideas and learn more.
