I pledge to call my sister and plan our next get together.

Blessed Be, Amanda

You may not think highly of yourself, but God wants you to know who you are in Christ and like yourself. Here are five practical tips to help increase your self-acceptance and your confidence of knowing who you are in Christ:

1. Never speak negatively about yourself. The communication of your faith is made effective by acknowledging every good thing in you through Christ Jesus, not by focusing on your weaknesses and flaws.

2. Avoid comparing yourself to others. Peter encountered this obstacle when he compared himself to another disciple. He asked, ÖLord, what about this man? Jesus replied, If I want him to stay (survive, live) until I come, what is that to you? (John 21:21-22). We are not called to compare, only to comply.

3. Let God determine your worth. Remember, because of Jesus, youíve already been accepted by Him.

4. Keep your flaws in perspective. Itís okay to see where you need to improve, but make sure you appreciate your progress.

5. Discover the true source of confidence. If you place your confidence in God, you canít help but have a healthy attitude. Do your best, and leave the results to Him

What an emoticon plan for self-care! I'm especially intrigued by your binder to stay focused and organized. Since organization--and clutter--are big issues for me, I would be interested to hear what works for you. Best of luck emoticon with your plans, and remember, you don't have to carry them out perfectly to make a difference in your life. emoticon (And believe me, I'm talking to myself here, too! emoticon )

For my sake and my sanity, I pledge to take steps to better cope with my mental health issues (bipolar II, ADD, anxiety, PTSD, and CPTSD.)

I am already on medication and am compliant and self-aware. Going forward I may have to tweak some of my medication, and I will discuss that with my psychaitrist next time I see her.

I will find a good therapist and go weekly until I feel more stable. Then I will go every other week.

I will try my best to use the tools I already have to deal with my ADD, anxiety, and PTSD/CPTSD. This toolbox includes communication with my loved ones, medication, mindfulness meditation, exercise, good diet, good sleep habits, journaling, and using a binder to stay focused and organized.

To remember I am ALWAYS MORE than what another might attempt to dictate.
That regardless of any voices stating otherwise: it's perfectly OK to just be ME.
To honor all that I like about myself, and remain the little darling kitty I can sometimes be:
In spite of all the growling big dogs that sometimes chase me up my favorite tree.

You are indeed blessed to have found your balance, Wispy. Many of the rest of us are still searching for ours--I know I am!

Being retired the balance in my life is not very work oriented.
Mostly everything I do is a for fun or growth activity. Perhaps the growth aspects however can count as work. In that case I'm not too badly out of sync.

Work, play, spirituality and laughter are my main focus points.

To accept what I can't change. Trying to change the outcome of others behavior is exhausting. I need to start accepting the reality of my situation.

My significant other, and then my grown children have been in one crisis after another for the last 2 months. I keep getting told none of these crises are mine, and they're not, but they do affect my life in specific ways, like deciding what ways are appropriate for me to help. I would like it if my mind weren't so wrapped up in the worrying about others though. So, yes, I don't have any specific smaller goals to head towards that I can think of right now either, but I know I've been less in touch with what I need, and I've been uncomfortable with that. Thank you for bringing this up.

I'll have to give it some thought.

"...there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo, and it's worth fighting for."

"We're children of a fighting race that never yet has known disgrace." (The Soldiers' Song, Irish national anthem)

"Every day above ground is a good day." (Chef Justin Kennedy of New Orleans, on Chopped)

Practicing self-care & honoring commitments to ourselves can be challenging. So here's a thread to help us develop accountability for our own well-being. I would specifically recommend *not* making huge or grandiose promises about suddenly practicing perfect habits of eating, exercise, or making extreme progress toward any type of goal. Rather, what's a small change you could make or a small step in the right direction?

A lesson from vacation is that I need more balance in my life. So I pledge to work on taking at least one babystep each week in a few Big Rock areas of my life:
--attracting
--releasing
--empowering/strengthening
--connecting

I know that's still kind of vague, so I'll work on making it more concrete and breaking it into little do-able steps.
