I had downloaded a language learning app called Duolingo.

It wants you to do at least one thing a day, and the things only take 1-3min each. So I have been doing them when I go bathroom at work.

It will also track how many days you had consecutively done something on it. I got up to 42 days, and then I got sick and didn't even look at it for a day.
I am going to join the goal and track my use of it on here. I am currently working on Spanish, but if the app actually works, I will keep it up for other languages possibly.

I fell off the Total Health wagon on Saturday. (Watermelon is a major temptation and when over indulged leads me to eating and eating and eating...) It has taken a couple of days to get my eating pattern back and will take several more to get back to feeling better. I didn't realize how much better I was feeling because of the eating changes. Owwwww.

I'm reading "Wheat Belly Total Health". Wow! After reading the previous Wheat Belly books, it is still interesting. I'm hoping some of his stuff with the intermittent fasting will get my weight loss back on the road.

emoticon STILLFLYIN! Its tough and sometimes slogging through the "to-do" list isnt' much fun at all (okay, most of the time its no fun at all) but its definitely worth it to persevere and cross something off for good.

I have a presentation in a few weeks and I find myself telling myself "its still weeks away, you have plenty of time, don't worry about it now" but decided I'm going to sit down and work on getting it down so I can focus on other things - right now, so many thoughts swirling an an outline but I need to just get it done so its concise.

Procrastination only seems fun in the moment (and I really don't like powerpoint after all), but when the moment the work is due arrives, it seems like it was a silly thing to give into. This is my week to push through and not put off - much harder than it sounds in writing...

BODACIOUSCHICK, that is an HUGE accomplishment. I understand the containers thing. You have inspired me. I have a number in the back of my car that I'm planning on dropping off at Goodwill today. Several others made it into my recycling bin. I still have so many that I'm going to have to separate from. I'm not quite a hoarder of containers, but near... Containers offer so many possibilities for how they can be used and I love possibilities.

Today, I need to drop off those containers and take care of a quantity of paperwork that I've been putting off. When I get that done, I'll feel a weight lifted. That stuff has been on my to do list and weighting me down for too long.

I have a thing about containers (baskets, boxes, etc) - I love them! Now that my son is older and most of his toys have small parts and require actual bins with lids, I've found myself with a plethora of unused (very nice) containers that have simply been getting shuffled from one closet to another.

I finally pulled them all together in the middle of my hall (so I had to walk by them every day) and after about a week there, I called friends and family to come choose something they could use. I'm not going to lie, it was difficult for some reason and I actually had to kind of look away when asked about a few of the containers, "Are you SURE you want to give this away?" - I found myself saying "Its time to release them" several times that day. I kept reminding myself how I wasn't using them and how if the need for one arose, I knew who to call to borrow and/or I knew where I could go to get another one.

That's a long story, but the amazing thing that's come from it - even though they were just containers, I've now become incredibly more attentive and intentional about the things I'm bringing into my home. That whole mental (and physical) exercise has significantly and positively impacted my previous impulse-buy and "I might use this one day" tendencies.

I say that's a win all around.

I'm trying to clear space/time in my life to get back to doing visual art work. Yesterday, I helped a friend paint a room. I did the cutting and it was wonderful to feel the brush apply the paint under my control. It makes me want to do it more!

"Also, I can kill you with my brain." This thread supports the related team goal. It could include work on anything from learning a new language to overcoming a mental obstacle. Our minds and mindsets are HUGE in the fitness/health journey and it is good to keep them sharp, helps us age well.
