25 minutes Katana Quick Draw & 10 minutes Dance With Dragons after a 5 minute Bo Staff/Katana Warm Up.

The first couple of nights my balance was all over the place. When I quit worrying about my 'form', obsessing over my footwork, & just relaxed & let my body find it's own center (which admittedly has... shifted in the last 30 years) I loosened up & everything smoothed out.

I'm not sore & I didn't hyperextend my elbow tonight!

Unless it's fun or something I can relate to the real world I've always had a problem getting into an exercise program.

I've always fallen back on doing staff or sword workouts. However, it's been about a half-a-lifetime ago since I trained in a dojo with a Sensei with either weapon. To tell the truth, some of the katas & workouts have become a bit hazy and (let's face it) that was a few decades ago & I'm not quite as agile or flexible as I once was.

(before anyone brings up the 'O' word let me remind you that Age, Experience, & Dirty Tricks will ALWAYS overcome Youth, Honesty, & Clean Living)

I've been looking for a good sword workout for many years & finally found one!

Darebee. com is awesome! They have themed workouts & challenges for everyone.

since I found Darebee's katana workouts I've dusted off my bokken & worked out 30 minutes a night 2 nights in a row. I should probably scale that back to 15 or 20 minutes every other night or 3 times a week since my arm got sore after the 2nd night (don't even THINK about using the 'O' word).

Enjoy!

Zumba last night! It's not a difficult class but I sure do sweat and it gets me lots of FitBit steps.

Glad your computer and SPAT are back in order!

Yay! Hubby fixed my computer and I got my SPAT back. Problem is I started physical therapy and hurt so much that I didn't want to move yesterday. Today is better and I'm going to move more.

Hi!

I definitely sped up when good things were happening! Sadly the Blue Jays did not make it all the way to the World Series but we came pretty close.

I've been going to Body Combat once a week, including last night.

Yeah the SPAT and FitBit are really great motivators! I'd miss it if I couldn't use mine!

Magnolia - Did you speed up and slow down depending on what was happening in the game? I have a friend that turns on the jog to "run" with her favorite batters.

I'm using an alternate computer until I get another one. I feel lost without my SPAT tracking, but I'm still walking!

I hit the treadmill last night to catch the last hour of the Blue Jays game! They lost, I got a good sweat on!
(there are tvs at the treadmills at my gym and of course every screen was on the baseball game!)

SALTINE_MURICAN - There are lots of great free videos on SP that support a wide variety of abilities and needs. And I know what you mean about the earbuds.

Today I tried one of the free Cardio videos on this website. It was a bit frustrating due to the fact I was trying to do it with earbuds attached to my laptop... lesson learned! I think I'll try the video again tomorrow when I can stop yanking on my head. ^^;

As its insanely hot (to me) out right now (TEXAS), I decided to dust off the elliptical that's been hiding in plain sight in my entertainment space. I also visited Netflix for the first time all summer this weekend and have been having fun visiting shows that have lived in my que for ages. I've discovered the beauty of using my gaming headset for workouts (don't have to hear the machine and no one else in my home needs to hear my random SciFi choices while I'm working out). The biggest bonus for me (and perhaps the actual focus of all this) - I've been logging some miles and working up a crazy sweat all without leaving the (blessedly air conditioned) house!

Got my steps in AND did 20 minutes on the stationary bike yesterday. For me, that's fairly intense.

I cleared the junk stacked on my stationary bike so I can work up to some intense cardio.

Had some cross over with the strength and cardio today - HIIT followed by PiYo (Pilates/Yoga hybrid, that keeps you moving and your heartrate up, loving it).
