So, what are you willing to do outside the comfort box to promote your healthy eating and exercise programs?

I have totally embraced a new way of eating at the suggestion of my doctor. I have cleaned out my kitchen cupboards, refrigerator, freezer and pantry of all things not on the plan. (My local daughters have really appreciated that!)I am experimenting with new recipes and finding a lot of new foods to eat!
The daily workouts w/Leslie Sansone were a big change for me as well. I have 5 DVD's that I rotate through a week at a time. I truly do enjoy the workouts which is a big change for me. I have never been an exercise person.
And I am hoping to take some more dance lessons later on this year when hubby's knee has recouped. *S*

Live Well, Laugh Often, Love Much.

I want to be an outrageous old woman, who never gets called an old lady. I want to become leaner and meaner, sharp edged and earth colored, till I just fade away from pure joy!

Wow! I'm impressed. Wasatch Back is probably as hard as the Robie. It involves a lot of mountain running and 3 legs are long legs. It is quite impressive.

I love the things you all are doing. Not sure what I'm doing to get out of the comfort zone. A lot of outside stressers out there. I have been hunkering down instead of stretching.

Need to get out there and stretch again and do some new things. I'll think about it again.

I'm running my first marathon (in my home town of Austin) on Sunday at the ago of 60 plus one day. I'm running my second marathon on 24 April in Oklahoma City. I haven't decided on the next one after that, but there will be more.

My long term goal is to qualify for the Boston Marathon.

Since I have been running for less than a year, I'd say this qualifies as a pretty big leap of faith.

I've signed up for a half marathon in April, so I'm training for it-will try to run/walk it...
I, too, would love to do a bike ride across MO this summer...
Professionally, I may switch grade levels-switched subjects this year and was really thrown out of my comfort zone...
Like a previous poster, eventually, I would like to teach overseas for a year or two, once my mother-in-law is no longer with us/my daughter is through schooling/employed full time!

I'm basically satisfied with my progress but I need to try to do the gym 4 or 5 days rather than 3, get into a yoga class and re-visit my caloric intake.

I signed up for the Wasatch Back Relay to do this summer. This will be a long training period to get to run 3 parts of the relay in a 24 hour period. Also, on the fitness side, trying out a couple of different workout DVDs like 30 day shred & prevention videos.

Changing my eating by trying different recipes & doing better on pre-planning meals to eat at home. It's so tempting to just pick up fast food or eat out when it is just me & hubbie. Being forced to go low, low fat is not a bad thing.

1) On Feb., 1st, I turned in my application for a school principalship overseas. My first choice is Europe and the second is the Pacific. (DoDDs).
2) I have never lived out of America. So, this is both exciting and at times fearful.
3) This summer I want to ride my bike across one of the states. It will really challenge my body to ride 60-80 miles daily. South Carolina has a 6 day trip that is 450 miles.
4) I am upping my committment to strength training following the Women's Health Training guide.

1. Restructure my eating habits, increasing protein intake and keeping refined carbs to a minimum
2. Increase exercise intensity -- try some new things (for me) like Tae Bo and Jillian Michael's 21 day shred
3. keep a personal journal to write out my feelings instead of eat them

1. To set up a still-life and just go for it instead of being frustrated (good for my mental health).
2. Recommitting to lose those extra pounds (that I WANT to lose, not necessarily HAVE to lose).
3. Stretching my miles on bike or trikke (will finally be able to post pics with my new camera when we head south).

Hi,

First it would be, to be a kind & loving person! Leaping into my morning devotionals.. then fitness wise, logging on here each day has helped me be accountable for both my calories, and for my exercise. I have met some other wonderful women here at SparkPeople, which gives me the desire to keep leaping! So to speak.

Have a healthy wonderful Tuesday lovely ladies!

There are several:
1)Getting out of bed at 3:00 a.m. to start my day. 2)Trying out new recipes
3)Reaching out to others in direct, honest, caring ways. Communicating honestly and directly is very risky, LOL.
4)Upping my calorie intake on a reduced calorie intake web site. LOL

The first thing that came to mind was commiting to doing the Robie with you. To doing the daily focus on things and moving my arse and then of course, the commitment of time and $$ to get there. I've expended a lot of $$ to prepare over the years since we talked about it for a couple now. This will be a milestone for me. First of many to come.

What leaps of faith are you willing to take?
(This was in Healthy Reflections this morning and I felt it was appropriate. Thanks Sparks!)

Trying new things can give you a real zest for life. Pushing beyond your comfort zone in a responsible way helps you grow confidence and creativity that you can apply to your everyday life. Do not let fear control what you do (or don't) do? While taking risks can be scary, doing nothing is a big mistake, as it produces nothing fruitful within you. There is a direct relationship between the things that we achieve and the effort we put forth to obtain them. To reach the fruit, you have to climb the tree first!

So, what are you willing to do outside the comfort box to promote your healthy eating and exercise programs?
