Hi Dwilburn,
How many days did you miss? The point is to get in shape, so I would continue where you are at or maybe repeat the last week an then go on. Since you want to go at it for another round, I think just continuing where you left off is fine.

Take care of your elbow and have a wonderful new month starting today :)

Hello all....long time no see...lol

I took some time away from spark to get my life together (March has been a difficult month) and I hurt my elbow so I had to cut back on training. With that said, I have a question for you all: I have two weeks until I'm finished with Insanity but I feel like my inconsistency over the last week might have an effect on my overall results. Should I start month 2 again or just pick up where I left off? I know I'm going to do another round of it because I'm an addict but I'm not sure if I should keep going or backtrack.

I just started Insanity Monday. Its been great so far.

I did 60 days of P90X and then life got in the way. Tony Horton is great and very motivating. After doing just 3 days of insanity I already think it is way more intense that P90X. As far as pull ups go you can use the resistance bands and you'll get a quality workout still. I didn't like the idea of drilling holes in the wall to hang the pull up bar- so i didn't. The hardest P90X workout for me, mostly because of the length of it, was yoga X. Cardio-wise plyo X was difficult for me, but fun and motivating once I was able to complete the entire thing without stopping.

i will be finishing this cycle in May- about a week before i get to workout with Shaun T live!!! as far as the toughest or most challenging- i LOVE max interval sports training- i have done fast & furious a few times too- CRAZY stuff!! pretty much any dvd in phase 2 keeps me on my toes. i haven't done P90X yet- Tony Horton sort of intimidates me- plus, i don't know if i could do pull ups

Good on you Donna! I myself started another round of P90X this morning and I tought it was hard too. When do you finish?

I will replace some cardio with some Insanity DVD. Which DVD do you find the most challenging?

Hi to all! I am taking the week off. Anyway, something weird happened to my knee from sunday to monday. Sunday night went to bed and everything was alright. When I got up monday morning, my left knee hurt. By noon, it was very swollen and it got worse at the end of the day. I have no idea what happened. I could not walk properly. It's better today and I see my doctor this afternoon. It looks a lot better. I can walk now...

Can't wait to post my workout again. I will start an hybrid program on next monday. So, how's everybody doing?

MAAYOTTE, not sure you'll even see this, but congrats to you!!

Donna, are you doing the Phase 1 stuff or Phase 2? I just did Max Recovery yesterday, and couldn't believe how much I was sweating by the end of it. Not as much as the other cardio DVDs, but certainly LOTS! I agree with your view - it's worth learning to love these workouts.

Not much left for me, though I haven't done Insanity in the expected method - I've had to include breaks to save my joints.

MAAYOTTE: thanks for putting it into perspective i guess its all about mind set- maybe subconsciously i picked Insanity cause Shaun T is just SO HOT!!! emoticon

LADIVA: you are AMAZING!!!! 4 rounds? FABULOUS!!!

today was cardio recovery- i'll be honest the first 2 cycles i HATED this workout- hmmmmmmm this time around i totally embraced the fact that you need to stretch and its not always about how many calories you burn- i was sore in a good way and i am getting more flexible and i didn't talk back to the tv once- PROGRESS emoticon

DDUNKIE, don't be intimidated by P90X. If you can do Insanity, you can do it. Isn't funny that I was intimidated by Insanity although I completed P90X? I think once you get into it you realise that the only thing you need is the desire to do it.

LADIVA, wow! Double WOW! A fourth round of Insanity? You rock girl! I am so glad I complete my 1st one tomorrow. It's a really nice feeling of accomplishment.

hey there- today was plyo cardio circuit- i was SO PUMPED for it and it did not disappoint- i don't know of any other warm up that can get my heart rate to 156- i felt stronger (esp in my abs) doing the power jumps- i have never done P90X- i saw an infomercial and felt TOTALLY intimidated by it- i have never done Turbo Jam but Turbo Fire is cardio kickboxing with some basic dance moves- i am clumsy and i can handle it- it isn't the same intensity as Insanity BUT my abs are starting to ROCK!!!! TF has great music and i like Chalene- so for me, it was a nice break from Insanity- just my 2 cents emoticon

Hi Irene, Donna,

I found Insanity was hard on my feet. I got really bad cramping in the beginning. I jump on a concrete floor.

Donna, 3rd round of Insanity? I am in ahhhh!

Irene, I really like Kenpo X and found that I can burn up to 700 calories when I give it all with that workout. I haven't done Plyo X since november. I will have to do it again after Insanity to see which one I prefer.

I miss the weight lifting with P90X. So, 2 more days of Insanity, one week break and back in P90X mixed with Insanity.

I tried Turbo Jam and didn't really like it. How does it compare to Turbo fire?

I do Insanity on a carpeted floor and I still find it too much for my knees. I'm actually concerned that I may be doing some big damage. So I have had to scale wayyyyy back on my workouts. I may look into Turbo Fire, but I think I'm more likely to just finish Insanity, then go on my trip (in two weeks), and re-assess once I'm back.

My game plan for my return is to do P90X with Insanity workouts in place of the cardio videos from "the X". I never found them terribly rigorous at all. The only one that came close was plyos, but I'd far rather do the Insanity plyos over the X plyos, for sure. That's how I see it at this point.....

Irene- i don't find Turbo Fire to be pounding at all- Chalene has a girl named Allie on the stage doing lower impact moves so if you don't want to jump- you don't have to- just follow her- let me tell you she is definitely working hard!! i LOVE this workout- so much fun. i do both workouts on a mat and i found it helps alot with Insanity- my feet used to burn when i was doing power jumps-

ok- so i decided to do another round of INSANITY - that would be cycle 3 for me emoticon holy cow- i did PURE CARDIO yesterday and i was in a puddle of SWEAT- i am going to be working out live with Shaun T in May and figured it was in my best interest to start the dvds again- i actually find i get a better calorie burn doing TURBO FIRE after INSANITY- maybe because my muscles are already warm- who knows- i'll take it though- i also signed up for 4 obstacle course races this summer into the fall- alot of the training each race talks about is what Shaun has us do- BONUS!!!! can't wait to DIG DEEPER tomorrow -

Donna, that's about my pace, too, only I'm not doing another program besides. I just find it too grinding on my joints and I need to put a day in between the rigorous workouts of phase 2. I know it's not the way the program was designed, but I also have to look out for my body!

Re-did interval this morning and found out that music makes everything better. I was slow at first put I put on my ipod and got really into the workout. The music woke me up and helped me dig deep so I'm very happy.

Woke up this morning to do Max interval and I could not get going. Instead, I grabbed the dumbbells and did Shawn T's upper body workout. It was good but I def. need heavier weights. I had a 3lb set and they are an absolute joke. I'm thinking I'll pick up some 5lb or 8lb and see how that goes.

Today was Max Interval Ciruit and BBL High & Tight. next week is my last week of round 2. I can not believe how much stronger I am now then I was when I started Insanity. Once I am done with Insanity and BBL Hybrid, I am moving on to P90X and Turbo Fire. TOGETHER..Atleast I am going to try really hard to do both everyday.

Did Max Interval Circut and it was far better today than it was the first time. I pushed to get through some of the moves I didn't even try last time (suicide jumps for the obliques...insane!)

Now comes the hard part. My weekends as of late have been problematic. My cousin, friend, and my birthday are back to back. This means the next three weekends will be full of going out to eat and drinking. I've picked a spot with healthy options for my dinner party but my other two pals are far less mindful about watching what they eat. I don't know how I'm going to survive this....

I'm doing max recovery tomorrow. Is it ok to add the the ab workout? I haven't done abs in a while and I'm in the mood to get them working.

Did Max Conditioning and I'm a little mixed on it. It was tough but I expected to be almost dying when I put it in but I wasn't. Anyway, now that I've tried three of the main workouts, I know what to expect and I can prepare myself to go harder. Tomorrow is recovery which is needed.

Keep up the good work everyone!

I went ahead and knocked out my Pure Cardio today. It's week 2 of Insanity for me, and I am loving every minute of it. It has been a very long time since I have felt so challenged, and I plan on keeping up with it all the way to the end! I might even do another round of it just as an extra measure, and then I plan on looking into the P90X routine so I can push for the proper buildup. My goal is to be in peak physical condition no later than November this year, but my weight loss goals are set to be achieved by May. Looking forward to my results from my first round of Insanity! Only 8 weeks left! I'll just keep digging deep!

The words "I can't" are like a cancerous disease...they eat at you until there is nothing left to consume. By saying "I can't" you are killing yourself before even giving yourself so much as a chance to live. I WILL push forward, I WILL dig deep, and I WILL succeed at achieving my goals. Thus, I WILL live on!

Did Max Plyo this morning and I LOVED IT! There were some moves that I was afraid to try (power push-ups for one) but I enjoyed the entire workout. My favorite was the push-up squats. I really felt my whole body working and I feel like I had a great workout.

This is my last week of Round 3!!!! Today was Max Cardio Conditioning, ...burned 485 calories...I know I could have gotten well over 500 if I could have pushed a little harder, but this in addition to my P90X workout....I'm satisfied!

Keep digging deeper!!!

Hello everyone! Hope the weekend went well for you all...

This morning, I did my third fitness test and Max Interval Circuit. I'm really proud of the progress I've made and I find that every time I do a fit test, my form gets better.

The workout on the other hand: BONKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had no idea what I was walking into and my body was in shock. The warm up was intense and I had to take more than a few breaks but I finished it (I had to fast-forward some of the moves since I was getting low on time but at least I kept going...right?).

Tomorrow is Max Plyo so we'll see what kind of torture it brings...

Hey all, did Max Recovery yesterday, and yes, I am feeling it today! I think today is Plyos. I haven't done it in a while, so that must be what's up. I am also down to about 2.5 weeks left, but it will amount to 3 by the time I actually finish, because I won't be able to do any workouts from Thurs to Sun this week...heading out of town.

I am also giving serious thought to P90X again. We already have it; got through 9 weeks the first time - about a year ago - then lost steam after a two-week break because of a trip. Never did finish it. But I would agree that the Insanity workouts would offer a much better hit of cardio than the cardio workouts in P90X. After Insanity, the two cardio DVDs in P90X would seem like a walk in the park. I think most who have done both would agree.

BUT, I would also say that you might want to hang on to the yoga in P90X. It's an excellent core workout, and it also strengthens, stretches and tones muscles in a different way. It's like portions of Cardio/Max Recovery in Insanity, where he's having you hold those poses, only more so. The yoga DVD is an amazing challenge, though I would never have thought of yoga that way in the past. I'm on a Team BeachBody thread, and many of the men there hated yoga at first, but have really come to appreciate what it adds to their workouts. I'm not really a fan, either, but I know it's good for me.

I won't be starting that whole thing until mid-May, though, I think. I need to plan it for a point when I know I can actually afford the time in my schedule consistently.

IAMJOOLIE, I'll do that. I love P90x too. My favourite cardio is Kenpo X. But I agree with you, Insanity cardio wise is more intense. Can't wait to be back on P90X, but I really want to complete one round of Insanity. 3 weeks left!

I love P90X! Although, on the cardio days, you should do an insanity workout instead. It'll be more beneficial to you. Make it a nice little hybrid. =)

CERWSLIGHT, It's quite a commitment to do a program for 60 days! 2 more weeks for you and 3 for me. I intend to do P90X again afterward, but this time around, I'll watch what I eat.

I wish you luck, but what you need is commitment. P90X is hard, but very doable. And Tony Horton is a very good motivator.

CERWSLIGHT, I know I don't like Max Recovery because it is hard and you need to focus and I'd rather be out of breath than not being able to maintain a certain position. And I believe that is why I should keep doing it. And I was also quite sore to the next day, especially my obliques. I think that is a good indication to try to like it.

Day 41: Max Interval Plyo

SENSEIIRENE, mostly Insanity is cardio, but at the same time, it offers some resistance. If I think about my shoulders, abs, back, legs, well, they've been working hard enough for me to notice. I am not a gym person, so working with the machines is not something familiar to me. That's why I like P90X. A few weights and your own body and there you go.

I would agree that Insanity doesn't do a great job of working musles. They get a workout, but not the same way that lifting weights does. Then there's another part of me that says, "Does it matter that I can push 300 lbs on a leg press machine? When will I ever need to do THAT?" Same goes for many of the moves that are done in weight training exercises, especially on machines. I am starting to like the idea of "functional" resistance training a lot more. I think Insanity gives some of that, at least.

I'm on Day 44, so it looks like I'm doing Max Interval. Doesn't matter. Whatever it is, it'll kick my butt! Later....

Today is Max cardio and BBL High & Tight..

MAAYOTTE - You know, I have mixed emotions about Max recovery. It works my muscles pretty good, but I also do another program for muscle. So I am alittle disappointed when needing a good cardio workout. I feel lost... and then of course today I am super sore..

SENSEIIRENE, I guess I don't like it, no, I know I don't like it because I am not too good at it. It is hard to hold still and use your strength. I'd rather jump and be out of breath. Isn't funny?
Anyhow, I did for the second time Max Interval Circuit this morning and I found it more difficult than the 1st time. Maybe it's because it's the end of the week and aunt Flo came in this morning or maybe I just pushed myself a bit harder. I wonder.

Today is day 40 for me. 20 more to complete this program. I am into it and the reward is great. Yesterday, truly by accident, I was at the mall and I came upon a sale. So, I got it and guess what? I bought myself 2 suits (my work attire) in size 5 and 7! That never happened to me before. Ok, they may be made big, but still! My husband told me I looked really sharp, professional and hot! What more could I ask for?

Strange thing with this thread and the past posts.... It looked like no one had posted for days. Then I finally post something, and all of a sudden there are several that I never saw!! I don't get it.

Anyway, it does look like people are just charging right along! Yay for everyone!

I have had to scale back a bit. Between my karate training twice a week and the cardio class I go to at the gym (that I won't give up even while I'm doing Insanity), I am finding it's too much. I am going to slowly work my way through the last few weeks (I think I have most of 3 weeks left), and just do each workout as it comes up, but on days when I can do it and not feel like I'm putting my body through a grinder. This morning was great, but that feeling had been rare lately.

MAAYOTTE, I didn't think I'd like Max Cardio, but I *really* enjoyed it this morning.... What I realized is that the toughest part for me is right after the warm-up/stretch, and for about 8-10 min or so, until he starts to slow it down a bit, and we do the waist kicks (or something like that?). I find that it becomes REALLY manageable after that. And I have to say that I am TOTALLY grateful that Max Cardio is the shortest of all the Phase 2 workouts. I have decided after this morning that I DO like it, but it took me a while to get to that point.

Another morning of the recovery workouts and I can finally do the leg pulse thing. I feel like this wasn't made for people with big thighs but I'm determined to do it all the way through!

Did Max Cardio this morning. Funny thing: I got up, kept this script running through my head that said, "I doubt I can get through all of this. It's late, and I just don't think I've got it in me...." But the more I plowed through everything, the quicker the time sped by and the next thing I knew, it was time to stretch! Bizarre. In a good way. :)

DWILBURN22, that's funny that you say you are like an old lady, because I must be one too. :) I get up at 04:45 and I do Insanity so I can my shower and be ready to go by 06:30. I Am in bed by 21:00, 21:30 the latest. You go running before Insanity!!!! You are definitely insane! and YOU are amazing!

In my case, I run only during the summer. But when I do, I don't add another workout. Keep at it girl, you are awesome!

The best has yet to come.

LOL @ Maayotte: This new schedule I have isn't easy. Now that I've added running, I wake up at 4:20am. I'm out the door at 4:35 and I'm back in the house to do Insanity by 5:20. I work all day and get home around 6:30. I eat, read, shower, layout my clothes and go to bed by 8:30pm. During the week, I'm an old lady but my weekends are normally when I step back into the mindset of a 22 year
