I have a Blessings Journal that once and a while I sit down and I write out blessings using the alphabet. One day I'll write down everything I can think of that I am thankful for that begins with the letter A. Another time it will be the letter B. It is a challenge to think of a lot of things, but it works. I also have one where I write out in a diary type of form the things I am thankful for and why. Added to my Stress Jars is a Scripture Jar. I took Scriptures, put them in another jar and when I drop a stress in the one, take an affirmation out of the other, I take a Scripture out of the Scripture one. Do whatever works for you. You all have such great ideas!

Yet, I really like your idea. It gave me a good start for the ideas I came up with though I had something stirring around like them.

One thing I'd heard about was the God Box. Which I really liked that had something to do with writing down what was bothering you and then turning it over and placing it in the box and letting what was bothering you go to God or your higher power. Then, I used that idea with this urn that I had. In reality I would like to burn them in the urn but it would not be practical where I live right now but I may in the future.

I had a friend who was always telling me about gratitude journals and writing down something everyday that I was grateful for. So, I started one. Another friend had long said to think of one or two things I was grateful for before I went to sleep at night. So, the gratitude basket is along those lines...

Though, it is hard to keep up with all the ideas I try to implement.

Like I would like to get a nice journal for the quotes but I may just start with a word document and do word art and stuff and have it on digital for a while in stead of in bits and pieces all over the place. And then do a binder with it. Who knows...that could be one of those brainstorming and wait and see things that emerge into something beautiful over time!???

There are so many different kinds of quotes that I say, Oh, I like that, then leave it be, when I could be saving them for reminders in the future.

I did something different I did an urn for stressors and basket for gratitude. Though I would like to start a journal for inspirational quotes. The idea though of having them in a jar is kind of neat, yet I like them better in a journal. The stressors I put into the jar, I let go and let god, and when they are released I shred them up into tiny pieces and throw them away. The gratitude basket is designed to write down events, occasion, people, things, places I am grateful for and put the slips of paper in the basket and take them out to follow up on when I want to remind myself of good things whether I am feeling down or I just need a reminder of how good my world is.

I have my stress jars ready to go. I added one extra. Because I am a Christian, I added one that I can drop a Scripture into so when I am done dropping my stressors of the day in, not only do I pick out a positive thought/thing to do, but a Scripture related to my faith. You could do this according to your faith style if you have one.

Has anybody tried theirs yet? I have and just love it! It's really neat. I have another jar technique I will teach you down the road.

I got my jars on Monday and I'm going to decorate them accordingly on Tuesday. And yes, writing things out eases emotions. That is because you are talking to somebody...whether you call it paper, write to your Diary or, as I do, write Dear Jesus, in a daily journal. That is why I encourage journaling so much. I am a journal addict and can list many types of journals that may benefit you. Maybe I'll start a thread on that.

I started mine. Just finished writing my stresses for the day and put it in the jar. It is amazing how the stress eases. I am working on getting stress quotes to help. Also putting a quarter every time I take back a stress into the stress jar. Would of loved to put in a dollar, but I already save the dollar a day in the sparkguy's club.

I'm glad you are all getting your own ideas. My idea was just the starter. You all make them according to your own personality, style, budget and so on. It's nice to see so many who are going to use it. Has anybody actually started one yet?

Thanks all for sharing.

I use the safe place for a place to go in my imagination to make it peaceful. I like the idea of the stress jar. Any money I put in will go to fun!!

I really like the basic idea of the stress jars. I am inclined to think that would really be healthy for me. Perhaps saving up for a manicure or a pedicure would be fun also. Though, I would feel like I was penalizing myself for having stress. I would rather reward myself for healthy coping skills like doing something positive for myself when I feel stressed than saving up on the premise of being stressed. Though good ideas in general! Thanks!

I thought about doing something similar to that but having a jar that I can put .25 cents to a dollar in every time I stress and save up so I can use it for something like going to get a massage or a manicure/pedicure. Thanks for the idea. I may use it and put my own twist on it. :)

TMROTH1, that is a good idea too. And for those who don't go to church or maybe can't afford a quarter, put in a penny, and at the end of the year, donate to your charity of choice. Wise idea!

I added to it. If I keep stressing after I write about it - I put a quarter in a jar.

The jar will go to the missionary project at our church, because I should have left these cares on God and not over stressed about them.

Great idea. I have a stress board that has a bunch of photos that are relaxing to me - peaceful, serene. When I am overstressing, looking at this board reminds me of the thinks in my life that matter most and the places I can escape to.

Thanks for sharing your idea.

I have an idea. I thought of it while copying quotes on stress for future use.

You will need two jars with lids, paper and pen, and some stress quotes.

Get your Jars and on one put STRESSES OF THE DAY.
You write out all the stresses of the day and the things that are bothering you on a piece of paper, fold it up and put it into the jar and leave the stress of the day there. You don't think about it again.

On the other jar your put STRESS QUOTES.
When you have put your stress of the day into their jar, reach into the other jar, pull out a piece of paper that has a quote on it about stress.

You have some options here. You can blog about the quote on your blog here, you can scrapbook about the quote adding nice pictures that are relaxing to you. You can meditate on the quote, or if it is a humourous one, have a laugh.

Anyway, it's an idea I had. Maybe some of you can use it or even add your own ideas for it.
