Good job on your 2 x4 miles. Hopefully your 16 miles will go smoothly.

Hopefully you'll be fully recovered by tomorrow's run.

SATURDAY
Easy Run
Distance: 8.25 miles
Location: Treadmill

Notes: I split this run into two four mile runs about four hours apart. That worked pretty well. My glutes did not bother me at all during the first run. When I started the second session, I could tell that the left glute was a little tired and in the last two miles it started to get very slightly achy. But not too bad at all. My tailbone is still sore but that doesn't bother me when I run.

We'll see how well I can handle 16 miles tomorrow.

FRIDAY
Easy Run
Distance: 4.67 miles
Location: Ledge Mtn

Splits: 22:06 / 12:31 / 11:47 / 11:47

Notes: First run since the aborted speed work on Tuesday, the day after my fall (where I landed hard on my tailbone and glutes). I can't say today's run was comfortable, but it wasn't too bad. My right glute is OK, the left still a little sore. Running didn't make it feel any worse, but I did get tired fairly quickly. I tried to stay relaxed, but I could tell that I was still unconsciously carrying tension in my upper body, especially in the shoulders.

I walked the first mile, then started adding some running into the second mile, free form. I used the Gymboss, set to :30/:30, for miles 3 and 4, then walked home. Given the improvement day to day, I am hopeful that by tomorrow, the left glute will be OK, too.
