I am SO in! My 1 yr anniversary with SP is tomorrow, and though I lost a substantial amount of weight in the first 4 months, I gained a little back when my mom got sick and passed away. The last 3 months have been difficult, dealing with her death, but I am now in a place where I can focus on my health; I don't want my grandchildren to lose their grandmother so early like mine did!

AAugust 29: 262.5 GRRRRRR Gained 3.5 this week, but all is well. I just don't need to harp to much over it and have it stay in my mind and dewell on it. The month is over and I have lost 7.5 pounds. YAHOO!!!!! And I am proud to say I finished the month without quiting the challenge. That is another plus for me. :)

ok, I'm in! I don't know if I can use the beginning of August, so I'm posting all that I have for now...I've been tracking weight all month, as well as activity. I will have to go and update that online. I'm going to blog my weight loss goals next, so check out my first blog post!

I'm here with a confession that I failed miserably in July and have a renewed focus to make it happen this month.
I'm not going to post any weight loss goals because it seems to negatively impact my thinking so my aim is to:
-increase my fitness to include more cardio than just the walking to and from work:
-strength every day without fail:
-step away from the occasional cold one and desserts I've been having.

UPDATE: the only reward I qualify for is for complete and utter failure. Yes, team, sorry to admit (but need to admit) that I did not meet a single goal last month. On the positive: it has given me the kick in the seat I needed to refocus (see my blog entitled "This is not an upbeat blog - but it is honest).
So here's to a better September Challenge and a hearty "Well Done WooHoo" to the August winners!

I need ongoing challenges to help me not pick weight back up...although I do have 10 lbs I'd like to lose. I'm going to set eating goals, as I don't find I have as much of a problem with the exercise.

Challenge Goals: Lose 7 lbs; only have wheat twice; only have refined sugar twice.

August Determination Challenge

Continuing with our monthly challenge!

This month we will focus on both pounds lost and / or fitness minutes! At the end of the month the goodies will be given to the biggest looser and the member with the most fitness minutes.

I will use the post to this thread for the pounds lost! For the fitness minutes I will use the team goal on the team home page! It automatically has all the members in it, and the winner will be selected based upon them signing up for the challenge in this thread!

This challenge will begin on August 1, and run through August 31, 2010!

To get started in this challenge please:

1.) Decide on your goals for August, and either post them on your Sparkpage or in your blog! Be sure to update your SparkPage if your previous months goals are on it!!

2.) Post your information by replying this thread; here is an example. NOTE: You will edit this weekly instead of creating a new thread!
