I am putting my 2018 self to bed and sorting my 2019 self out. I started 2018 very depressed so I didn't even set any goals. I won't go into all the reasons but I sure see it reading back through the first few months of my journal Just slogged through for months. May saw a huge turn around and the joy has been building from then on.

Today I will finish my journal for 2018 by posting my cards and mementos in my book and doing my calendar recap.

I got back yesterday evening from Oklahoma where I had to go check on my aunt again. I managed to increase my steps by quite a bit every day I was away. Even though I traveled for 71/2 hours yesterday, I still got in 12,065 steps for the day.

My aunt is not doing real well, and my cousin and sister and I are researching assisted living facilities and skilled care homes here in Texas, hoping she could make the move down here to Central Texas where we could all three participate more regularly in her care.

I too am traveling. I did finally buy a new step tracker. I left mine on my desk and apparently my kitty knocked it around to a place I can't find. Today we are seeing a photographer who shoots wildlife. Since I will be sitting long hours my plan is to walk on the breaks even though it is raining. Where are you going?

I've been listening to and watching interviews and art demonstrations on the computer today, so my goal has been to get up, drink a glass of water, and walk around the house for 200 steps each hour. I have the alarm on my phone set so that I can remember to get up!

I had forgotten how dark Cabaret is. We had a good time and another friend joined us so we had a little extra socializing. I did get some work done on my quilt and that contributed to cleaning.

Today i plan to quilt and empty another cupboard to clean.

I have been lax on setting small goals. Today I'm going to see Cabaret which stars a good friend of mine. I love local theater. I will also work a little more on my genealogy. I'll take a walk or do a few strength training depending on the weather.

I know what you mean. It's been so hot here that I just can't bring myself to go outside to walk when it is 96 degrees at 8:30 at night! So I'm not getting near as many steps as I was when I was in San Francisco where it was cool. I do get out to water my plants in the evenings, though.
I know some people go to the malls or a large store to walk, but ours are all way across town from me. Like you, I need to figure out more ways to get my steps in!

Getting enough Fiber, goal is to get between 25 to 35 grams of fiber per day, I usually average between 25 to 28 grams per day; staying within my daily calorie intake, and eat between 5 to 8 servings of fresh fruits and veggies per day; my fitness minutes goal is 35 to 37 minutes of cardio and strength training.....

Do I get a Cheer from the Team to Keep Pushing towards my Goals for today??

I received a Fitbit for Christmas a couple of years ago, but I never activated it until right before my trip to San Francisco a few weeks ago. I walked over 10,000 steps each day while I was there, but I haven't hit 10,000 steps since I've been back. I set my daily goal at home for 8,000 steps, but I reached that goal only on the week-end. I'm going to wait a little bit longer before I set my goal a little lower, because I know I'll be healthier if I keep trying for 8-10,000 steps per day. I was happy with my 6245 steps on Wednesday, though.

I was a little under my calories for today. Need to get more protein and more fiber.

Here's another goal completed from the "Food & More" categories.

Two days ago I was determined to clean out my refrigerator. I am ashamed to tell you how many out-of-date condiments and canned juices that I found in there shoved behind other foods. I dumped many bottles and jars of unused items down my disposal, washed out the cans and jars, and put them in the bin to be recycled. Why I had not done this in a much more timely manner is beyond me! But I'm glad I finally got it done.

For this new year I am reminding myself: "No More Excuses!"

Did anyone decide on some new daily goals for 2018?

One of mine is to get to bed earlier each night, and another is to limit my time on the computer. Time management is a big stumbling block for me -- and I'm the only one who can change that for myself.

I had a procedure done on my eyes yesterday, so today -- and for the next few weeks -- my goal is going to be to have to remember to put all the different drops in my eyes several times a day, plus hot compresses. I'll set the alarm on my cell phone to remind me.

Rx insurance has denied paying for one of the medications, so I'm going ot have to go by the pharmacy and try to get that straightened out, or else pay for the entire cost again like I had to do on a medication last week. I am on Medicare Part D, and I changed carriers for 2017 -- and now my current company has denied every new medication since they got the paperwork that I was changing. Grrrr!

My goal for today was to eat a healthy lunch, since I knew I'd be dining in a restaurant with a friend today.
We both ordered the beef tenderloin salad, which I thoroughly enjoyed -- and met my goal!

This goal is for the coming week: I need to start baking batches of cornbread for the dressing for our family's Thanksgiving reunion dinner. I'll make one big batch with sausage and another batch that is vegetarian and gluten-free. Also need to start making croutons from white breads and gluten-free breads.
I know that cornbread dressing is full of calories, but I love it and it's a traditional dish for our family. So I won't be passing it up -- I'll just have to eat it in moderation.

I'll be flying to Boston on Wednesday and then leaving on a cruise of the New England coast on Sunday. And we all know that the word "cruise" is synonymous with "lots of beautiful, inviting food every time you turn around"!

So I've absolutely got to keep my appetite under control while I'm away. All that food surely is tempting, and it's hard for me to eat lobster without drawn butter!

I'm going to have to reset my Spark goals today for weight loss. I am within 3 lbs of my goal weight that I had set for the end of August, but I didn't make it. Need to work harder!

Today I've been watching some gardening shows on TV, and since they are all pre-recorded, I can get up and dance for about 5-6 minutes (usually 2 songs) in-between sitting on my rear. (I take notes in my gardening journal while watching the shows, so that's why I'm not lifting weights or doing some other kind of chair exercises during the programs.)

Finally all good news. My son's tests came back good yesterday and he was able to enroll at the University of Nevada Las Vegas as a sophmore.

Now to focus on my goals for a bit.

My goal this week is to do all the things on my to do list. I am trying to get ready for our county fair where I am superintendant of the photography dept. It is a lot of work but I always enjoy it.

The painting I wanted to finish hasn't even been started and my birdhouse will have to wait. We had company for the last 8 days including a 3 year old.
