I ended up with a Leaky Gut. Now have multiple food allergies. And, am now down to my SPgoal weight. What was the key?

I went through my shopping list, the pantry and the fridge and brought it all to the Lord. He told me what to eat, what not to eat, and how much of each food item I could eat.

For example: Strawberries ~ I can eat a small amount
Raspberries ~ can't eat at all

I was dropping about 2 pounds per week for a while... all due to inflammation going down.

Found this topic buried among 'old' postings with its most recent activity having been several years ago, but think it is equally relevant today so I've moved it to the top.

The main change I'm working on right now is to emoticon snacking after 8:00 PM.

Feel free to chime in with yours,

On the half and half, I began lessening it, using it here and there (as a splurge), then giving it up completely. That was hard to do as a Wisconsinite living in the "dairy state."

Even without a challenge to eat good fiber and freggies (fruits and veggies), I average on the high-end of the fiber scale (often going into the 50 grams) and enjoy more than ten servings a day, while staying within my ranges for calories and protein. I don't know what I'd do if I didn't track. It truly is my best friend!

Happy, happy! I'm celebrating this week as I just learned, coming off a SAC3 4-week challenge with about 23 teams of 5-12 people, that my teams finished first place for the first and last weeks, making us the overall winning team of the challenge. WooHoo! I love my SparkTeams and a good challenge based on healthy eating guidelines.

I have started eating more fresh foods and much less processed foods.

I have been thinking of giving up Half and Half too. Did you do it gradually or go "cold turkey? "..lol.

For the last 6 months (or so), I've discontinued putting half-and-half in my coffee. Black is just fine! I occasionally enjoy a milk tea (chai) with some of my Napali, Indian, and Sri Lankan friends.

Increase my movement! I used to tell myself I needed to sit down and rest so much more than I actually needed to, now I know I can move more and I make myself do it!

Using the recipe calculator to correctly determine nutrient ranges met for the day. In the process, I've learned how to make much healthier recipes.

Tracking everything I eat. I have cut out "white stuff"...potatoes, bread, etc. But I still eat ice cream every week;). Tracking is the key...you can eat what you like...but you have to make sacrifices in quantity etc. and stay within your calaroie range.
