Brunson told Trump that he and his family "pray for him often" and said he'd like to pray for him in the Oval Office and asked if that would be OK. The president replied, "Well, I need it probably more than anyone else in this room, so that would be very nice, thank you."

"Lord God, I ask that you pour out your Holy Spirit on President Trump. That you give him supernatural wisdom to accomplish all the plans you have for this country and for him.
I ask that you give him wisdom on how to lead this country into righteousness.
I ask that you give him perseverance and endurance and courage to stand for truth.
I ask that you protect him from slander from enemies, from those who would undermine.
I ask that you make him a great leader for this country.
Fill him with your wisdom and strength and perseverance, and we bless him. May he be a great blessing to our country.
In Jesus' name, we bless you. Amen."

Brunson's wife, Norine, followed in prayer, adding:
"I pray that the spirit of the Lord rest on the president. The spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit counsel and might, spirit of knowledge and fear of the Lord. Amen."

We are having a Thanksgiving outreach. We have done various thanksgiving and gratitude themes.I suggested they call it, What's Right ( meaning what is good, positive, blessings, what we are thankful for. The lady doesn't like that theme, because she doesn't want politics involved. I get that... but I was thinking on the lines of God's works and deeds or what is decent in this country and elsewhere.... too bad.... they did come up with verses.

one woman said, attitude of gratitude....

On this 17th anniversary commemoration of Sept. 11, now called Patriot Day, will you bow your heads, joining me in prayer?

Heavenly Father, we remember the sights, the sounds ... the horror.
The images of exhausted, ash-covered first responders
The chirping sounds of the trapped firefighters' location devices coming from the pile
The dogs that were there, first searching for survivors, then searching for bodies
The pictures of missing loved ones tacked on every telephone pole and billboard
The sad procession of family members walking up to the staging area to see the actual devastation

But Lord, we also remember those thousands who came from all around the country, and the world, to do whatever they could to help.
The crime investigators who did the grisly work of evidence handling
The forensic workers who did the unthinkable job of identifying the dead
The chaplains and counselors and administrators who came to do the essential work needed to give the survivors what they needed
The crane operators and construction and demolition experts who entered the burning pile so others could safely search.
We remember the grief and the sorrow of a nation,
We remember the pain from the images seared into our national conscience of that day; our lives being forever changed.

But we also remember the unity that crossed party lines, singing "God Bless America," the land that we love, knowing You stood beside her and You guided her through that day. And You guided her through those nights after with Your light from above. We pray for You to touch hearts and minds so that unity may return to our country.

And we remember the men and women who have served and who are serving our nation, our great military and first responders. They find themselves in harm's way in distant lands and on our streets, fighting and defending our freedom and serving with all their hearts to help others. They fight for the self-evident truths that all mankind is created equal, endowed by their Creator with inalienable rights which are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And in You, O Lord—the one who is the way, the truth and the life—is true life.
We bless them, God. We bless our service members. We bless their families, and we pray that our military and all who are overseas will safely return into our loving arms. But we also pray for your healing for all those families who lost a loved one in the wars we have engaged in because of 9/11.

We stand on all Your sacred and true promises, knowing that, through our prayers, You will bring a great awakening to us once again. You will bring the healing from the tree of life that all nations need.
We humble ourselves before You. May Your grace be poured out upon us all.
Most of all we remember You, oh God. As your servant Moses said, and the hymn writer penned, we now pray:
Oh God our help in ages past/ Our hope for years to come
Our shelter from the stormy blast and our eternal home
Under the shadow of Thy throne/ Still may we dwell secure
Sufficient is Thine arm alone/ And our defense is sure
Before the hills in order stood/ Or earth received her frame
From everlasting Thou art God/ To endless years the same
Oh God our help in ages past/ Our hope for years to come
Be Thou our guard while troubles last/ And our eternal home.
Amen.

As a new school year begins, let's pray for all of the teachers who will have an impact on the next generation.

Dear God,

As countless teachers begin to prepare for a new school year ahead, grant them an abundance of Your wisdom. Prepare their hearts to welcome and love our loved ones, and may we show them love and respect in return.
Give them grace as they help students who aren’t thriving, courage to say what needs to be said, tools and knowledge on how and when to speak love, and strength when they feel weak. When they feel unseen, remind them in their heartas that no moment goes unnoticed by You.
They are shaping the future in one million small - yet incredibly important - ways every day. We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the gift of learning they share with our children.

Bless them, Lord, and may they see even just a glimpse of how their faithfulness will forever impact generations to come.
Amen.

absolutely !!! Good word.

Many of us have opinions but we should love and pray for our government, on both sides, speak up , vote, be involved, but not speak trash talk. It's love that Jesus says, will bring change. We can have strong opinions, but express it to get others to listen, not rip apart people.

President Trump has nominated federal judge Brett Kavanaugh to Supreme Court to succeed retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy.
Today I pray for both Charles Grassley and Dianne Feinstein, the Republican and Democrat leaders of the Senate Judiciary Committee, as well as each member on that committee. Give them honest and rational discussion while vetting the qualifications of Mr. Kavanaugh, and fairly submit his nomination for a full Senate vote.
I pray also for all members of the Senate who will eventually vote on his nomination as the new Supreme Court Justice. Prepare their hearts individually even now, that they would consider and act without prejudice or personal agendas, that politicking & deal making will not happen in this important vote, but that each Senator would seek wisdom from God on the confirmation.
Please give every citizen the gift of discernment, that we may see what is True, and not be influenced by biased media reports.

I know Dave Meyer has some books. I wonder if I still have any around. I used to know a bunch of websites. I'll write it down in my planner book and get to it eventually.

We are still adjusting from my husband's retirement. However, he will fill in for a man of vacation later.

He did write some amazing material. They even have his spiritual journals at the Library of congress, I've heard.

There are some Christian organizations that have republished many of the words of our forefathers, such as Bradford , Noah Webster, Patrick Henry, and many others down the line.

“No one can rejoice more than I do at every step the people of this great country take to preserve the Union, establish good order and government, and to render the nation happy at home and respectable abroad. No country upon earth ever had it more in its power to attain these blessings than United America.
Wondrously strange then, and much to be regretted indeed would it be, were we to neglect the means, and to depart from the road which Providence has pointed us, so plainly; I cannot believe it will ever come to pass. The Great Governor of the Universe has led us too long and too far on the road to happiness and glory, to forsake us in the midst of it.
By folly and improper conduct, proceeding from a variety of causes, we may now and then get bewildered; but I hope and trust that there is good sense and virtue enough left to recover the right path before we shall be entirely lost.” – George Washington, June 29, 1788

This one is for the active military. Memorial Day is on the last Monday of the month, May 28th this year.

Of course, we should take every opportunity to remember those who gave some and those who gave "all".

emoticon Our nation’s birth and survival has fallen upon the shoulders of patriotic men and women who have put everything on the line to keep our country free. Our servicemen and women recognize that only at great cost can the concept of liberty and justice become a reality, and only with great sacrifice can freedom prevail.

Armed Forces Day was created in 1949 to honor those who wear the uniform of our nation. It is an opportunity to express our gratitude to selfless patriots who raise their right hands when most don’t. It’s a day to recognize our proud soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines and Coast Guardsmen, and thank them for protecting the freedoms we cherish. It is also a chance to remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our great nation.

In his 1950 proclamation, President Harry S. Truman called on all Americans to mark Armed Forces Day by recognizing “the skill, gallantry, and uncompromising devotion to duty characteristic of the armed forces in the carrying out of their missions.”

Armed Forces Day is a time for all Americans to reflect on the freedoms we have today, and to think about, and pray for, the brave service members who for centuries have provided our country with the very security which makes those freedoms possible.

Through the years, it has been the powerful force of our military men and women tenaciously defending and preserving our way of life who have defined what it means to be courageous; and today we thank our military for everything they have and continue to do. America is blessed to have true heroes among us.

Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD;
and the people whom He hath chosen for His own inheritance. (Psalms 33:12)

Father, we in these United States of America, who love you and are called by your Name, lift this man, Mike Pompeo before you and ask that you have him confirmed as the Secretary of State.
We ask that You give him Your favor, Your wisdom and Your annointing in all of his thoughts, words, and deeds. Let him be courageous and brave and unwavering in the face of evil in order to serve You and bless You as he represents our nation.
Bless and protect our President and Vice-President from evildoers and those who would love to see harm come to them, their families, and our nation. I pray this in Jesus Name, through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

I agree that it would be a great idea to designate the third Sunday of every month as a day of prayer to recognize and promote the good and kindness that still exists in America. So I'm re-posting Mr. Owl's complete blog here:

"There is too much evil in the news, but that is not the real America. We Americans need to change the focus on bad news to a focus on good news and I have a plan for that. PS there will always be evil on any given day but on the third Sunday of every month we should call out to all the news channels that don't focus on the good acts of kindness this special day that they are not being worthy news stations. Remember we have strength in our numbers and can change the practice of the news channels to spread only bad news.

With so much focus on evil acts in the news, I worried that my wife and I would have bad luck on our vacation, but was presently surprised by all the good will of the local population where we are staying. My faith in America is much better, but it is a shame that the real America, the kind and generous America doesn't get the attention that it deserves.

It is unfortunate that so much attention on evil doers sets the bar so low. I pray that more attention will be placed on the good will of the majority and America will prosper so we can focus on spreading goodness and the healing touch of kindness, which will be good for the mental health of all.

I think we should make the third Sunday of every month a day of prayer for recognition of America as a good and kind America. I know that true Americans are a kind and generous people, and we should insist that on at least the third Sundays of every month, we do get the attention focused on all the good that exists in America, not because it is news worthy, but because it is the real America. We need help of the news channels to spread that news and because we have the numbers on our side, we can get their help. On at least one day a month that should be the focus of the news and if if isn't we good Americans should insist that the news channels make an effort to change for at least this day and threaten to boycott news channels that don't. In this manner we can ignore the bad news and make the third Sunday of every month a day to focus only on prayer and also on making a special effort to spread and acknowledge all the kindness in America.

If you agree, copy my blog today and post it as your own blog to tell as many people as possible to make every third Sunday a day to focus on prayer and the spreading of kindness.

Please spread the word. Thank you, With Love. Mr Owl

I'm Mr. Owl. I'm in Virginia, USA EDT"

Really, there needs to be additional steps besides prayer and gun laws. There are several factors. I'm not bringing this up because it is political in nature.

Yesterday morning, President Trump addressed the nation and spoke passionately about Wednesday’s tragedy at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

"In these moments of heartache and darkness, we hold on to God’s word in scripture: “I have heard your prayer and seen your tears. I will heal you.”
"We trust in that promise, and we hold fast to our fellow Americans in their time of sorrow."
"We must also work together to create a culture in our country that embraces the dignity of life, that creates deep and meaningful human connections, and that turns classmates and colleagues into friends and neighbors."
"In times of tragedy, the bonds that sustain us are those of family, faith, community, and country. These bonds are stronger than the forces of hatred and evil, and these bonds grow even stronger in the hours of our greatest need."
"And so always, but especially today, let us hold our loved ones close, let us pray for healing and for peace, and let us come together as one nation to wipe away the tears and strive for a much better tomorrow."

emoticon These excerpts can be put together as an excellent prayer for our country. emoticon

Truth is the word of the week. Pray for TRUTH in all situations in our government. Pray for TRUTH in the media. Pray for TRUTH regarding The Memo. Pray for TRUTH regarding the intelligence communities. Pray for TRUTH for the President's State of the Union Address.
Pray for TRUTH--our Nation needs it.

Thank You for placing Donald Trump in this position as President of the United States.
I pray that You will bless him and give him great discernment and wisdom as he prepares to deliver the State of the Union Address tonight.
Let him speak truth directly to the American people. Guide him to speak and act with dignity and nobility before the audience. Send Your angels to block the evil one from causing disruptions and chaos during the speech. Let Mr. Trump be treated with the respect and deference due his office.

We thank You for what You will do, and we give You praise and honor and glory in Jesus' name. AMEN!

Lord, speak to President Trump’s heart. Draw him relentlessly to you. Give him wisdom and strength to handle his daily responsibilities, as well as international relations, especially regarding North Korea, Iran, and Israel.
Protect this nation and his family from danger.
This I ask in Jesus' name for our country, founded on the Bible— that You lead us in perilous days, revitalize the Church, fill our hearts with love, and soften the hearts of people for spiritual renewal.

Thank You, Father, for this United States of America.
Your Word tells us that “blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.” We are Abraham’s seed, so we are blessed coming and going.
I pray for this nation to become united -- To love others has we love ourselves. To help those who need help.
I pray that you will give wisdom and council from heaven and the Holy Spirit within to everyone holding a position of authority at any level. Please grant a hedge of protection and continue to use President Trump to lead this nation back to You.
In Jesus’ name. Amen!

Irving Berlin first wrote it during World War I in 1918 and revised it in the run up to World War II in 1938. That's when he also added the introduction that is now rarely heard but which Kate Smith always sang on her radio show. It may not have been included in the sheet music when it was published.

This song was playing on the radio this morning; I hadn't heard or thought about it for ages.
I remember many times singing this song while in grade school, but didn't realize it was actually an awesome prayer for our Nation.

While the storm clouds gather far across the sea,
Let us swear allegiance to a land that's free.
Let us all be grateful for a land so fair,
As we raise our voices in a solemn prayer:

God bless America
Land that I love
Stand beside her
And guide her
Through the night with the light from above.

From the mountains
To the prairies
To the oceans
White with foam
God bless America
My home sweet home.

God bless America
My home sweet home.

emoticon Now is the time to pray fervently for the Supreme Court Justices as they decide their individual positions about Masterpiece Cakeshop. emoticon
.
On Friday, they will meet, cast their votes on the case, and then assign a writer for the majority opinion. Pray for a righteous, just decree. emoticon

I don't really get, if this tax thing will improve or hurt us, but we most certainly need prayer about this, and all the other things going on

George Washington's Thanksgiving Proclamation

By the (First) President of the United States of America:

A Proclamation.
Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor—and whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me “to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness.
Now therefore I do recommend and assign Thursday the 26th day of November next to be devoted by the People of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be
—That we may then all unite in rendering unto him our sincere and humble thanks
—for his kind care and protection of the People of this Country previous to their becoming a Nation
—for the signal and manifold mercies, and the favorable interpositions of his Providence which we experienced in the course and conclusion of the late war
—for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty, which we have since enjoyed
—for the peaceable and rational manner, in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national One now lately instituted
—for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed; and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge;
and in general for all the great and various favors which He hath been pleased to confer upon us.
And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech him to pardon our national and other transgressions
—to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually
—to render our national government a blessing to all the people, by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed
—to protect and guide all Sovereigns and Nations (especially such as have shewn kindness unto us) and to bless them with good government, peace, and concord
—To promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us
—and generally to grant unto all Mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as he alone knows to be best.

Given under my hand at the City of New-York the third day of October in the year of our Lord 1789.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the victims of the Las Vegas shooting and their families. What happened in Las Vegas was not a gun problem. It was a sin problem. Our nation must turn back to God to solve our problems. There is no other answer. More than ever, it's time to pray America great again.

President Trump campaigned and was elected with this slogan, "Make America Great Again."

Ultimately, God is the only one can make this nation great again. So, let's get on our knees and ask God to bless President Trump, our elected officials, and our military.

Pray America Great Again!

Praying for the victims in Las Vegas --

God our father, who has promised a world where all live in peace and where no one dies untimely,

Christ our brother, who wept at Lazarus's grave and wept over Jerusalem,

Spirit our comforter, who leads us in the ways of love and truth,

we pray to you for the people of Las Vegas.

We pray for the injured and bereaved. We pray for the traumatized and terrified. We pray for the ordinary folk who tried to do what they could to help, and for the professional first responders. All of them were confronted by scenes no one should have to see, and we pray that You will comfort them as they come to terms with what happened.

And in a city overwhelmed by an act of terrible evil, may the light of Christ shine again.

Prayers for Donald Trump as he is set to deliver his first address to a session of the U.N. General Assembly in his role as President of the United States.

emoticon Lord, we ask that You surround our President, Donald J Trump with the manifold wisdom of God.

Lord, if he begins to say something that is outside of Your will or that would harm our relations with other nations, may the thought go right out of his head! Put a guard on his mouth so that his heart and mind can accomplish Your will with greater measure.

We ask that the diplomats (and the media) keep open hearts and minds as they truly listen. Make every word that may be taken out of context or every word he may misspeak fall to the ground and die.

emoticon Prayer for Texas emoticon

When one suffers, we all suffer as a nation.

What we pray for one state will affect all of us! Let us agree together allowing God’s love and power to flow for our brothers and sisters who are now in harm’s way, who are suffering with loss of life and property, who are being tormented through all of this.

Father God, we pray for miracles of greater works over Texas. We pray for the people to have mighty encounters with You, for Your saving grace to flow, that You may be glorified.

Father, nothing is impossible with You. You said to command mountains to move out of our life. We command the rains to stop, the flood waters to dry up, that property be restored, that you might raise the dead, and bring healing to those who have been hurt, in Jesus name.

I pray great peace and joy and grace flow over the people. Guide them with Your wisdom. Draw them close in your secret place. May this time be a powerful time of communing with You. May it be an encounter with You!

We trust that You can do anything. We ask You to restore Your hedge of protection over our nation. Pour out revival fires and have them sweep across the nation that You be glorified once again.

Be magnified! We lift You high for all the world to see that You are a miracle working God, in Jesus, name we pray!

Father God, thank You for Your sovereign wisdom and the plan You have for our nation.

As the eclipse will pass over this nation, let it be for our fresh start in You.

The darkest part/ total eclipse is expected to be visible in Philadelphia at 2:41 pm --
It was 241 years ago that the Declaration of Independence was adopted by the Second Continental Congress meeting at the Pennsylvania State House (Independence Hall) in Philadelphia! Coincidence? Or You, God! Joel 2:30

We KNOW that You are working. May we continue to pray in spite of what we hear and see that may be contrary to Your ways. Thank You for your mercy and the blood of Jesus to cover this nation and all elected officials and people of this land. In Jesus' Name. AMEN!

emoticon Father God, thank You for Your sovereign wisdom and the plan You have for our nation.

Lord, we ask that You surround our President, Donald J Trump with the manifold wisdom of God. We ask You to make him resilient to the words that people speak against him. Show Him to look to YOU to defend Him -- not to try and do it himself. We declare Isaiah 54:17 that no weapon formed against him shall prosper and every TONGUE that rises against him shall be shown to be in the wrong. Help him Lord! Give VP Pence unprecedented favor and influence in President Trump's life.

Make every word that has been taken out of context or every word he has misspoken fall to the ground and die. Lord, if he begins to speak something that is outside of Your will and that would cause him further trouble, may the thought go right out of his head! Put a guard on his mouth so that his heart and mind can accomplish Your will with greater measure.

We pray for protection for him, his family, his cabinet and for this nation.

In Jesus' Name. AMEN!
