That's great, Becky! How about you start a new thread and put a sticky on it. Call it February's Clean Eating Sample Manu, and put the sticky from this thread on it. That way a notification will go out to all the team members for the new thread.

Hi Everyone -

I've done another weekly menu plan for clean eating - You can find the summary and links to it on my blog entry here

I will have a word document ready Monday and put a link to how you can download it then if you prefer having the information that way. That doc will also have a grocery shopping list too.

I figured it would be easiest, since my food log is public, just to input the plan through the week and you can look up the nutritional totals via my food log by just clicking through for the calendar date referenced.

Although there is some cooking in the beginning, leftovers are used throughout the week, so hopefully it's not that big of a cooking burden.

Just bought the "clean Eating Diet" book after Christmas and am starting to see and feel results!

I will not exceed the "feed" limit!

Yeah I was trying to think how I could get these calculations and DUH! use the nutrition tracker! emoticon

It also generates a shopping list (which I've never done) but I could cut and paste it into the pdf and people would have that too.

Will play around with that idea next week on my nutrition tracker and see how I can get it to work for our needs.

Personally, I would like to see the main ones Calories for sure, then Protein, Fat and Carbs.

There are so many other things to track...
maybe fibre and sodium...

BTW what nutritional info do people want to see on these meals?

I was thinking the easiest way for me would be to set up my weekly plan on my nutrition calculator (which is public) and then put together the plan in pdf like Laura did and give it to you.

I generally compute my stuff by the products I use but then you could at least see a breakdown of calories, fat, protein, and fiber (I also track sodium but it is not viewable via the nutrition tracker on my Sparkblog).

No like is that really beef? I'd pay to see that process. I'd probably come back not being able to close my eyes and you guys will have to keep putting eye drops in so my eyeballs won't dry up. Anybody see A Clockwork Orange.

I thought it was a joke, too, Laura! Until I saw an ad tonight on TV. I can't believe what they are trying to brainwash us with these days!!!! A Taco Bell DIET? I think I may have to make a voo doo doll out of my little Taco Bell chihuahua!

Bad food tastes good period. Now, after you find out what's in it then it grosses you out. Some choose not to know what's in what they eat and me, I have no choice since I have been kidnapped by you lovely people so therefore I snack on walnuts and other clean non-tasting objects which improves my quality of life. Sorry for the run on -- that goes through my head when I pass a Taco Bell and if I knew what Ani's voice sounded like it then it would all be in her voice haunting my unclean thoughts.

Taco Bell tastes good...the stuff on the Fresco menu really tastes good. Nacho supreme is delish! And that mango strawberry slushy drink to wash it all down is to die for. Chicken Burritos - sweeet. mmmm mmmm good. Now I'm off to chew on my 1/4 cup of walnut halves.

Well... yikes! I'm not a big Taco Bell fan... in fact I am quickly becoming less and less of a fan of any fast food. It all tastes soooo salty and greasy. Not very appetizing. When I go out to dinner I like to have some whole wheat pasta tossed with a little olive oil, spinach, shrimp and scallops. Maybe a bit of parmesan on top. To me THAT is a REAL TREAT!!!
I suppose if one were stuck in traffic and needed to get something to eat, AND there was a TACO BELL right there... it may not be the END OF THE WORLD to eat one of these FRESCO items... but certainly not one of my first choices for taste or health. That's for sure!

Oh my gosh! My DH and I were on the road over the holidays. We usually watch VERY little TV (I know sheltered) but while traveling we had it on to get weather etc. I was shocked to see the Taco Bell Diet. I thought the subway commercials with Jared (a local celebrity here in Indianapolis) were bad, but this was sadly funny, and so strange....

heehee it was on my mind because of reading todays Sparkblog....

So the 5 ingredients at TacoBell...
1.) fried taco shell
2.) Fatty cheese
3.) greasy meat-like product
4.) trans fat
5.) salt

I do love that 5 ingredient CE plan. I also like how they do dinner and the leftovers, used differently the next day. Keeps you going on eating right when you start getting bored.

While you guys are feeling creative...can you make a meal plan for people who can't cook like me? I know that Clean Eating maggy has that 5 ingredients to make 5 meals. Can you guys whip up something like that too. Once a month is fine since I eat the same stuff everday...it's just food.

printing out right now looks really good. I have to laugh because your links open in IE, but I am using Chrome lol.
It shouldn't be hard to get the calorie count, I have not used the tracker for quite a bit (trying to get back to it) isn't there a share option on the tracker? Can it be used to share with team members or is that family members?

Looks great Laura...!

We discussed putting nutritional content and the reality is that it would take a boatload of time... by trying to pick common items that would be either in your food counter or in Sparkrecipes, will hopefully allow people to customize the calories and the meal plan for their likes and plan.

BTW - neither Laura or I are nutritionists and the plan is based upon just clean eating principles and basic meal planning.

LABYRINTH and I have been working on sample menu plans that we could offer the Clean Eating team. We hope to do this on a weekly basis.

This is the first one, so it may not be perfection. But we hope that this will help some people who may need help in getting started with eating clean. I have tried to include some recipes from our cookbook. I am posting today, so you have a few days to do some grocery shopping (Sorry, I didn't have time to make a grocery list) But, feel free to make substitutions. Also, feel free to post suggestions for following sample menu plans (I know you will. lol)
