O.K. I'm going to start this thread up again. I have two habits I'd like to re-start and maintain:
Stop eating by 7:00PM
Get in at least 40 minutes of cardio/day.

I've done 35 minutes this morning. Maybe I can dance emoticon around the office for 5 minutes to add up to 40 minutes total. I'll have to do that when no one is in here emoticon

Last night we steamed crabs and ate them on our screened porch. We were eating util after 8:00PM, but I didn't care that I was eating past my 7:30PM deadline! emoticon

Nancy, are you drinking just plain water or do you include fruit juices, decaffeinated teas or other flavored waters? All of that would be considered a "glass of water". Maybe you are already getting in your 8 glasses a day without realizing it! emoticon

I'm going to add to my "21 day new habit challenge". I'm working out EVERYDAY! Even if it's just something as small as 25 pushups. But I'm shooting to go to the Y every chance I get.

I know, Nancy! It IS necessary to be flexible emoticon . My husband doesn't get home until 6:30/6:45pm. He has told me not to wait for him to eat dinner, and I have finally started eating when I was ready. Even if I eat before he gets home, I can still sit at the table with him and talk about our day. Then I still go to bed with a mostly empty stomach.

BTW: I finished dinner by 6:30 last night. Didn't eat anything after that. emoticon

Had my extra glass of water. Connie sometimes its hard not eat before that my goal is not to eat after 8:00 be we have even done that before. My DH get home a little later then he use to with his new job. He doesn't get off till 5:30 and usually isn't home till after 6:00 has to chat a bit you know.

April 5: DH fixed dinner and it was late when we ate; but I did finish before 8:00PM I know, that's not my goal,, but it was the best I could do emoticon

Friday, April 3: emoticon Finished eating BEFORE 7:30PM

Saturday, April 4: emoticon Went out to dinner, which wasn't served until 7:30. So, I ate half and took the other half home with me. That way I didn't spend a great deal of time after 7:30 eating...

Sunday, April 5: emoticon DH fixed dinner so it was late when we started eating. Again, I ate less than I might have if we had started sooner, so that I wouldn't be putting too much food in my tummy after 7:30PM.

This 'habit' has worked so well for me as I sleep emoticon MUCH better when I do to bed on an empty stomach...

I will count my calories each and everyday along with the other nutrients my body needs to assist in weight loss.

O.K. I'm sure you all know that research shows that it takes 21 days of repeating an action to develop a habit. So, let's try doing that for ourselves. Choose a habit; any healthy habit. Then, let us know on this thread each day for 21 days (April 3 through 24)if you have mnanaged to reach that goal for the day. I'll start... emoticon
