When I have a rough day, I look back on my previous triumphs. Just look at how far you have come, at how much you have accomplished. It's simple math. If you put in the work, the weight will come off!

I failed to post my success story tips from Saturday and Sunday and now I have read so many I can't remember who I liked tips from.

So my success story today is from ZIRCADIA " I also have gained a huge sense of empowerment by achieving a goal I previously thought impossible to reach. You had to be lucky, rich, or extraordinarily strong and clever to lose weight and be thin I thought. WRONG WRONG WRONG. And by learning that, and learning through the process how to set goals for myself, I've gained the sense that I can do ANYTHING."

I've been focusing on setting goals and setting myself up for success in reaching these goals that I really liked the statement she made about goals. In the past I had lofty goals and they were really long term unattainable goals, now I am focusing on small goals, little baby weekly goals that are something that I can achieve and be proud of. I think this is important to keep me motivated.

my sucess story for today is from john harney who has lost 162 pounds......

I did not hit a plateau because I read a lot of great information here at Spark People and realized I have to change things around all the time to confuse my body so it wouldn’t get used to the same old thing and slow down on burning calories. I knew the choices today will affect the results I get tomorrow. I know wasted time is gone forever and I’m not going to let it get by me anymore.

My biggest inspiration in life is to live longer and help my friends. I want to give all the love I have to give to others, and after 10 months of work the doctor said I had added at least 5.7 years to my life.

My advice for others is: Make yourself beautiful on the inside and you will be beautiful on the outside. If you believe... you will achieve.

Sundays points: 6 (3 hours sleep la had ear ache)

Today I read several Success Stories but this one seemed to have an interesting point in it that I had not ever thought of. I know when I try to push to reach a goal that I end up sabatoging myself and prevent myself from reaching it by that certain date.

MARIPOSAGALAXIA - her comment was as follows:

"My biggest challenge in the past has been lack of motivation. I have always wanted to accept myself and be accepted by others at any weight, so I think I sabotaged myself in some sense to prove my own worth."

I start out very motivated to achieve that goal, I will tell the people around me to involve them in the process as the book said, then as it gets closer and they all start saying things like "how far do you have to go I don't think you are going to make it" or "do you really think you can do that" - then I start thinking that I can't make it and end up stressing out and keeping myself from reaching it. I need to start being more confident and practice the tip from yesterday - stop caring what others think. emoticon (I am beginning to see the light-lol)

Debra I just read your Success Story tip. It's funny we both chose the same part of her story. Julie the tip you found is a good one too, hard to adjust to (my personality is I WANT IT NOW) but very important to remember (Life is a Marathon, not a sprint-I just have to keep repeating that to myself).

I forgot to post the Success Tip I found yesterday. It was from BeachMom45:

"I had to change the way I thought about food, exercise, and I had to stop caring about what people thought of me and start focusing on myself and what I needed to accomplish. Just thinking of all of the positive changes in my life brings me to tears, literally."

I read this after posting my blog and thought how appropriate and timely it was - I have to stop worrying about what others think and focus on the positive changes I have made in my life.

For this challenge let's LEAP into Spring. This challenge will be mostly about doing things to help us recover so that we can leap into the Spring season.

L - Learn from others. Read a success story and find one point that you would like to try to incorporate into your plan. Post it in the LEAP Challenge thread. 1 point for each story.

E- energize yourself. Time to get that much needed rest. 1 point for each hour of sleep.

A- account for all food that you eat. Track your food (remember to get all your veggies/fruits in!) 1 point for each day.

P-Post - Take a poll or post in the message boards each day. 1 point per day.

This challenge will run Saturday Feb 27-Monday Mar 1.

*Sleep for Saturday will be from the time you go to bed on Friday until you wake up on Saturday morning.

I've been discouraged (again) about not losing weight even though I'm exercising and keeping my calorie intake down. I found this quote today on the Success stories, so I will try to remember that it took me the last 12 years to get here and I'm not going to get back in 9 months!

"It didn't take you a day or even two to put on this weight. Be patient with yourself, forgive yourself and don't give up." (SCRAPCHICKSROCK)

i posted mine in a blog again with another pic of my westies. here is the post for "L"....

the sucess story point of beachmom45
My biggest challenge was certainly overcoming bad habits. What most people don’t realize is that losing weight is not just a physical battle; it is not just about eating healthy and plenty of exercise, but more importantly the mental and physical habits that you have to break along the way. I had to change the way I thought about food, exercise, and I had to stop caring about what people thought of me and start focusing on myself and what I needed to accomplish. Just thinking of all of the positive changes in my life brings me to tears, literally.
