Andy - restarting later is better than not getting back at all!

Well, my apologies all. I began this thread, and then never did anything with it all.

But, I could do with some friendly competition right now, as my exercising is sliding into nothingness. My eating is going well, but exercising - almost non-existent.

How about, for the rest of the summer, and the early fall, we have a pick-your-own-challenge challenge?

I'll go set it up ...

Cj, I can so relate to your initial post. This summer has been difficult and the lack of routine is the biggest challenge I face. While I love the freedom to wake when I feel like it, go to bed as I please and just take off for a drive or a day away, the summer catches up to me in other ways. Working out has been tough as the weather has been too hot, eating right is difficult as I am at home and the cupboards are never bare.

My goal for the month of August is to make sure I am active daily and to keep my calories below 2000 per day. Since I have already blown it, I restart today.

Better to light one candle than to curse the darkness.

Our summer challenges include lack of schedule; increased time at home which can lead to eating out of boredom; more unplanned meals away from home; treats, especially ice cream; and parties--lots of them.

Consistent food tracking and increased exercise helps so having a summer challenge that incorporates these is welcome.

I definitely do better with a schedule and it helps if I am being held accountable. emoticon

Good, good. We can do something with that, definitely.

Anyone else?

I also do better when I have a schedule I need to follow.

Right now my biggest struggle is with food. I crave way too much junk food, and if I don't use the food tracker, I'll indulge in the cravings much too often. For me, making sure to use the tracker and getting freggies will be a great help.

Personally, when my schedule changes and school lets out for the summer (which it will in one week), I find it more difficult to keep my momentum going and eat at scheduled times, get all my exercise in, etc., as I just love my routine.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Or, does anyone else feel they would benefit from a summer challenge?

If so, what sort of challenge would you like? IN other words, what are you struggling with right now? Is it exercising in hot weather? Eating the right number of fruits and veggies for health? Is it cooking healthy meals in the heat?

Whatever it is, let us know, and we will see if we can come up with a summer challenge.
