I was recently in a car accident. Since then, my shoulder (actually shoulderblade area) has been bothering me. It was x-ray'd and they said it wasn't broken, but none of my doctors have actually suggested anything to do about the pain/swelling/stiffness in the area. When I ask, they all say that they want to worry about my leg now and worry about my shoulder later. Sounds like crazy talk to me... but I don't have insurance so I can't exactly go around getting 2nd and 3rd opinions.

I don't know exactly WHAT happened to my shoulder (there wasn't anything for it to crash into), but I have a theory. I THINK that when I was hit (t-boned on my side) that the force threw my body to the right and my guess is that I held onto the steering wheel for dear life (I have to recollection of the accident) which, combined with the motion of my body, probably stretched the ligaments (or tendons or whatever is back there). There isn't enough pain for something to be torn, so I think things were just pulled out of place.

Anyway, long story, I know... Does anyone have any suggestions for strengthening everything back up? My OT suggested a couple moves with small weights, but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas she might not have mentioned.
