Smaller sized clothes are one of the best rewards for loosing inches. So far, I've taken in my slacks at the waist but have let my shirts be baggy since I like them that way anyway.

My nutrition tracker's meals have gotten to be so familiar to me that I know them as well as I knew my "before" meal plans. My nutrition tracker has gotten me used to having some fruit, grain, nuts or seeds, and vegetable at each meal

During these winter evenings I like to relax by looking through flower catalogs. I enjoy planning the flowers I'll have in my windowbox when the weather is suitable.

It's funny you mentioned teddy bears...they are a comforting stuffed animal even for us grown-ups. Lately I read a magazine article about the popularity of teddy bears in England where grownups use them as well as the children do to make their beds look comfortable.

I'm going to buy more teddy bears. They are a necessary part of all our lives.

A new beginning for me is to start listening to old-time Bluegrass hymns.

I am going to stock my desk with a roll of postage stamps and a variety of greeting cards. For too long I've used e-mail to carry on correspondence. Working at my desk in my home library is something that makes me feel terrific.

Last time I shopped I bought some grapefruit so I tried making baskets with 3 of them. I used my grapefruit knife to cut a cave-like door in the middle center, used kitchen scissors to cut out the fruit, spooned out the juice, filled the "cave" with the chopped grapefruit, maraschino cherries, walnuts, coconut, and chopped orange sections. My husband and my sister in law enjoyed them for lunch.

Grapefruit baskets are made from grapefruit peels, and may serve as containers for dessert or salad.

To make with scalloped edge insert sharp knife blade in zigzag fashion, at right angles to center of fruit, cutting around imaginary center. The two halves may be pulled apart, the sections and juice removed and shells used for containers. Imagine a whole grapefruit hollowed out by making a scalloped-edged hole in the middle of the side, then, when the fruit is out refill with fruit salad and tiny marshmallows.

To make with handles cut grapefruit in cross-wise halves, then cut 1/4 inch slice from top of each, leaving plain or uncut at two opposite places. Remove fruit and juice, then lift the two cut places up and fasten with baby ribbon.

I can't find an image that exactly shows these baskets. Here are 2 made from orange peels.

I'd like a new rocking chair...a wicker one with a good firm padded seat...that I can use for good back support while I sew, read my Bible, write grocery lists.

My new beginning is going to include getting some new flatware because my forks are so dull they can be used as spoons.
