I prefer conventionally grown produce.

North American exercise & 3 square meals team leader.

I believe that I am less likely to procrastinate if I change my "wish" to "will", my "like to" to "try to", and my "have to" to "want to".

I prefer organic too, but there are cost and availability problems here too. What I grow is organic so I have learned some safe ways of pest deterrence in my pots and gardens. Diatomaceous earth is great for making plants unappetizing for snails, slugs and insects. You need to be careful to allow pollinators in during the blooming times or if you have preying mantises or other predatory insects protecting your plants.

I choose by the price because I really feel that neither organic nor conventional farming methods allow harmful residues into their food product.

Be hopeful. Feel optimistic about succeeding.

Conventional farming is my preference. I trust our biggest selling brand names' farming practices. Our U.S.A has trustworthy USDA inspectors. I never hesitate to use the brands of vegetables and fruits that my parents preferred. They have flavor and texture that I like. They have variety at an affordable price.

I buy organic more and more to avoid pesticides and for the taste. Strawberries taste fabulous and very different when organic. Our grocery stores like Kroger and Aldo, and Meier are carrying more and more organic. I also like to support some of the local farmers. Cucumbers, celery, apples, carrots, lettuces, are now exclusively an organic purchase for me. The same is true for potatoes. I am trying to avoid corn and soy as much as I can. Wheat too. Sometimes I do and then I don’t. But the claims as to how the chemicals impact our body do scare me. We are what we eat and what our food eats...animal or plant.

I'm similar to Paula. I only have a limited choice of organic available where I live (Aldi and WalMart that are 20 miles away, and you never know what you will find at the local health food stores. Main grocery stores have very little organic). I do try and make sure I get organic for the dirty dozen as often as possible. I have found someplace that does ship fresh and frozen organic food (http://azurestandard.com/). I don't know all where they ship. I do know they only do a truck stop (you go meet the truck for pick-up) in areas where there is at least $500 (I think) in total between everyone ordering for that stop location. I don't know exactly how the ordering works as my son's girlfriend places all our orders together. And it is only once a month that the truck makes the stop.

I prefer organic, and will buy if it looks good and is not too much more expensive than it's "competition". Many times, though - the organic is wayyyy more expensive. I buy organic less than half the time.

The reason I prefer organic is that I think it is healthier not to be eating pesticides, and much better for the environment.

When you shop do you prefer conventionally farmed fruits and vegetables or ones organically farmed? We welcome you to express the reasons for your choice.
